— Ты вообще работаешь? — вдруг задаёт вопрос Стайлз, выбравшись из раздумий. Дерек тихо хмыкает, усмехаясь. — Эй, большой волк, слышишь меня? — Конечно, слышит, но… Им обоим нравится замечать в голосах друг друга улыбку.

— Работаю, когда ты спишь, — всё же отвечает Дерек, тепло смотря на него. — Тебе стало настолько скучно, что ты решил докопаться до меня? — А до кого мне ещё докапываться, если не до своего парня?

Хейл смеётся. И это самое прекрасное, что может быть. Его смех вылечивает от самых худших болезней, и Стайлз сам невольно хихикает. Он тянет руку вперёд, а Хейл тут же встаёт и ловит её пальцами — следом и губами.

Будильник говорит о себе заставкой из Звездных воин, поэтому Стайлзу приходится оторваться от шутливой перепалки и прерваться на отключение телефона и проверки расписания.

— Надо на процедуру.

Не то, чтоб прям с большим энтузиазмом. Но постепенно Стайлз влился, это стало некой рутиной, а с недавних пор очень даже приятной — ведь Хейл лично попросил медперсонал, чтобы он сам провожал Стайлза на процедуры. И этим, казалось бы, маленьким жестом, Дерек вытягивает из Стайлза всё то невыносимое и пронизывающее отчаяние, наполнявшее его до этого через край. Его грубые и теплые руки согревают до глубины души. Стилински даже не страшно идти через больничный коридор, боясь упасть, ведь его держат. Каждый раз. Хотя, конечно, бывает, когда Стайлз просыпается от кошмаров или загоняет себя мыслями настолько, что это превращается в длинную истерику, перетекая из вечера в утро.

— Прогуляемся? Или отвезти тебя на коляске? — Давай пешком, — качает головой Стайлз, вставая на ноги. Он знает, что в любой момент оборотень подхватит его, не позволив столкнуться с полом от слабости в ногах.

— Надо было ехать на коляске, — недовольничает он, когда садится после долгих минут ходьбы по коридору. Голова немного кружится, но это всё же лучше, чем чувствовать себя беспомощным без возможности пройти через такое жалкое расстояние.

Дер смеётся над ним, вызывая искреннее возмущение и получая за это пинок в колено.

— Мистер Стилински, пожалуйста, ложитесь головой к аппарату. Мистер Хейл, попрошу Вас покинуть комнату на время процедуры, — слышится голос из микрофона. Дерек наклоняется к Стайлзу и коротко целует, будто бы на прощание — каждый раз вот так.

— Я буду за дверью. Всё будет хорошо.

Стайлз не очень верит этому… Он уже сомневается в том, что жизнь придёт в прежнее русло, но ему хочется верить именно Дереку, который не отходит от него ни на шаг.

И это придаёт ему сил.
