May understood that Skye wasn’t her daughter. Kind of.

May wasn’t the type to get jealous. She really wasn’t. She was the type to know her worth and her place and her standing in things. She didn’t get jealous.
But.
She’d taken care of Skye for almost seven years now. That’s got to count for something, right? Not that anything was transactional, but May had earned the right to call herself Skye’s mother. Right? Skye asked for it. She’d made that dinner, had that talk, asked that question. She wanted to call May ‘Mom’. May had said yes. She had been apprehensive, but she’d said yes.
So she was allowed to be jealous. Which she wasn’t. May wasn’t jealous that Jiaying could just waltz back into Skye’s life and just be her mother. She wasn’t jealous that Skye could just call her ‘Mom’, just like that. May knew that what Skye and Jiaying had was blood, understood that her and Skye’s bond never stood a chance against what the girl had been searching for her entire life.
She wasn’t jealous.
Except, she kind of was.
This is something more important than yourself, May reminded herself. This isn’t some petty grudge you have against some old rival. This is Skye. She deserves the best you can give. If Jiaying is what she wants, you’re going to let her go peacefully, dammit. Don’t make things harder than they already are.
May calmed herself down. This was worth the fuss, but she couldn’t be difficult. She had to be the bigger person and be good and be diplomatic, if not for anything or anyone then for Skye.
So, she said, “I hope your mother is everything you wanted her to be.”
So, she gave Skye a hug, hoping to convey everything that she couldn’t put to words.
So, she let Skye go.

Okay while trying to write up an answer for an entirely unrelated ask, I was suddenly slamdunked by the mental image of Daichi and Kenma becoming really close friends and like hanging out to play video games together and both of them, to each other, are like "yes we are hanging out as proxy friends because we are both much closer to kuroo" but they don't realize they've started hanging out alone and have become good friends (i actually do think they'd get along well) but Kuroo sure has noticed and he's feeling an absolutely unparalleled level of jealousy about it that he simply cannot identify the cause of.
Yaku: so you're jealous that your crush is spending more time with your closest friend than you?
Kuroo: yes
Yaku: great. And which one is which?
Kuroo: *distressed cat noises*
I will say though I did plan on making during and post Hive Daisy very depressed so at some point she gets mad at the team for not taking her out when they had the chance.
If you had this far planned , may I request what you had for May shooting Daisy when she was infected by Hive ?
I honestly forgot that happened.
Hot take:

Picture this— Daichi and his four younger siblings, suddenly orphaned during his last year of high school, with his graduation just around the corner. Daichi, now his siblings’ legal guardian, has to drop moving out to go to university with Suga, has to put a hold on his own dreams, to take care of his siblings. He has to do all of this while navigating more grief than his siblings, since he had the most time with their parents— the rest of them didn’t have their parents around as often, Daichi was the “test child” and was more of a parent to the rest of his siblings anyway— and he has to be careful what feelings he show because the second oldest hasn’t started high school yet, and the youngest is six.
Enter Suga: he was expecting his best friend of three years to be going to university with him. They’d planned this for a while now, from which university they were going to attend to which dorm they were going to stay. He doesn’t expect the change. He’s also reasonably distraught at the death of a pair of parents that he loved. He lashes out at Daichi, and Daichi yells back, but in the end, they decide this—
Whatever they do, they do it together. It’ll have its hardships; Daichi’s parents literally just died. But Suga is there to help, and Daichi will never say no to him.
