LEYTON APPRECIATION WEEK • Day 1: Favorite throwback/parallel → 1.02 & 5.02 I love many parallels between them, but I’ve always thought the most meaningful. With those simple words Lucas was able to give courage and confidence to Peyton, he made her know that someone believed in her. And then it was Peyton’s turn. Knowing how much his art meant to her and hearing Peyton saying those words… it was what gave him inspiration again. She made him believe in his art again. And they very much supported each other, it was clear both when Lucas gave her sketches to Thud and when Peyton sent copies of his book to publishers. Lucas constantly believed in her art and in her music (he was sure she could create a record label there in Tree Hill because he always knew how talented she was). Peyton bought every possible copy of Lucas’s book because she was so proud of him. She knew his words and his writing were worth reading.

ryan and marissa in the beginning of season 3.
One of the more surprising moments in the episode was the Veronica-Archie kiss, particularly in terms of the pacing of it. You have that kiss on the cheek, and then the pause, and they look at each other. And then they have that little kiss in the middle of the school. How did you work on that moment?
I wanted it to be very genuine. She doesn’t come in to talk to him to do that, she’s not coming in to try to instigate that kiss. But because she’s connecting with him emotionally, it drew them closer, and they just couldn’t help but surprisingly kiss each other. And then they kind of see, oh, what did we do? It was building in this little kiss on the cheek, but then I wanted to have the rest of the world melt away, so that they got tunnel vision for each other. Even though they’re in the middle of lunch room, they have boxed themselves in the corner of the kitchen. So again, I designed where it happened, so I can let the characters connect.
‼️ they got tunnel vision for each other ‼️
I love this.
And I really liked the scene. Of course, a bit short for my taste but very Varchie like. Roberto was talking about emotional memories all season long while playing around -- but this moment, now that's one.
And their theme was also playing.
Overall quite happy with the content. Can't wait to gif it all.
My favorite Varchie scene from season 7. You can’t deny the spark. Seeing her again “for the first time” and he already knew she was the girl for him. Period. They’ll always have chemistry no matter what decade they are in!
