Hi there! I'm Skyler (Sky if you're feeling 3 letters lazy)! Please use they/them pronouns for me.

I'm a member of a system, and if you don't know what that means, this is the easiest site to explain it. The long and short of it though is that I'm just one guy in a meatsuit with a bunch of other guys in the same meatsuit. And I have a lot of thoughts about plurality in Digimon, as well as Digimon in general (god help me, I got an English degree and I can't stop).

Expect me to post my unhinged Digimon thoughts here. I'm also gonna reblog my Digimon art here, but if you want to see the Digimon art I like, you can check out our system's art reblog blog @rooks-gallery and look through the Digimon tag! This community has a lot of talented artists! Check them out! I am not asking (/lh).

Some time ago, Magolor crashed on Planet Popstar and the events surrounding the repair of the Lor Starcutter occurred. Following his escape from the aftermath of his actions, Magolor eventually reunited with the space galleon that had ferried him through the chaos of the ordeal.

After some tinkering (and apologies of varied sincerity all around), Magolor has decided to give up some mischief, now using the Lor for a noble business venture: ride sharing. He spends time between passengers working on the Lor, and they spend that time trying to keep Magolor from involving himself in more harebrained schemes by gently guiding him towards the development of a proper moral compass.

Even if it takes bribing him sometimes with gem apples… Sigh.

We’re in an Anthology!!!

Hi hello yes I know we rarely use this blog but I just realized we never announced this here! What!

Nothing Without Us Too is coming out in FIVE DAYS, and we have a piece in the anthology about the experiences of being an undiagnosed queer dissociative mess in college!

Should we have made an official actual intro post before this? PROBABLY. Are we going to? NO CLUE. Regardless, we saw a new tag for plural writings and were reminded that yes, we do have a writeblr blog!

Nothing Without Us Too, published by Renaissance Press, is an anthology collecting Spoonie writing!

Our piece is “The Pronoun Game” in which Arcady, a dissociative queer college student, navigates the difficulties of fluctuating pronouns and liking it/its pronouns and struggles with the fear of having its queerness discarded as a symptom of its undefined and mis/undiagnosed neurodiversity.

(Maybe not the happiest piece for us to promo but we write less bleak shit with systems too, I promise lmao. Like, we have a few novels in the works, let’s just say.)

All stories in the anthology are marked with content warnings (thank you very much to the lovely editors!), and the menagerie of stories on display have us very, very excited (not just because we have a piece in this anth either)!

3 months ago, BKP:03 and a cornered Hoopa made their escape from the Aether Foundation and found their way to the Sinnoh region far away to recuperate safely. Donning the name Begonia (or “Nia”), BKP:03 and Miscellaneous “Misc” the Hoopa set off for Mount Coronet at the behest of Nia’s want for adventure. Once there, the two were bestowed a handful of strange items which lead them along like breadcrumbs: a Rowap berry, an embroidered Silk Scarf, and another Hoopa’s Prison Bottle. With those in tow and a riddle from a strange dream urging them on, now the two depart for more adventure in the Sinnoh region at large…

I Return!

As you might have noticed, I disappeared during the Tungle Purge back in December 2018, mostly because I couldn’t stand the policy changes. I’m back now in 2020 because I happen to want to get back to resource collection, as well as start a new project on this blog dedicated to reading and reviewing stories for the sake of learning more about the craft, inspired by a class I took earlier this year on reading as a writer!

Another part of the reason why I’m back is a little more self-centered, I’ll admit, because I want to get to know people who are not only interested in writing, but are also part of the industry since I’ll be graduating college this Fall with my BFA in Creative Writing! I have projects I’ve been incubating throughout college and hope to find at least a few people interested in reading books about gay sparkledemons, malevolent gods, and humans that eat hubris on a regular basis!

When last I was here, I posted about finishing my first NaNo stint— since then, I have tried NaNo one other time and didn’t quite finish it, but got the start of a nice new story that I have on the back burner in favor of finishing another project and worrying more about another. I’ve also written many more papers on not only writing but also literary analysis. If you’re interested in those, too, why not hop in and let me know?

If you’ve missed me since then, I’ve been @Baldinerd on Twitter! I can’t curate content there like I did here on Tumblr, but if you want to check out some of the art I’ve posted these last few yearsish, check the media tab out!
