This is your friendly, very firm daily reminder that the tags ‘no archive warnings apply’ and ‘creator chose not to use archive warnings’ are NOT the same thing.

‘No archive warnings apply’ means that your fic does not fall under the category of R*pe/non con, Graphic violence, Major character death, or Underage relationships.

‘Creator chose not to use archive warnings’ means that either you do have one of the four official archive warnings that apply to your fic and you didn’t want to spoil it, or you’re not sure whether your fic falls under any of the official warnings or not.

If your fic has underage, r*pe/non con, a major character death, and/or graphic violence, DO NOT TAG AS ‘NO ARCHIVE WARNINGS APPLY.’ Even if you want to avoid spoilers or you added the warnings in the tags, this is still the wrong thing to do. Then, in your end notes, explain the trigger warnings. In your beginning notes, say ‘Read end notes for trigger warnings (contain spoilers).’ AO3 automatically has a link for people to skip the fic and go to the end notes and check. People can choose for themselves if they want to walk in blindly or have the warning first. They can exit if they see something that bothers them. This avoids spoilers and yet takes the precautions of avoiding triggering your reader.

he then shut up and glanced at you bashfully

it got pretty annoying because he'd always walk in on you and peter's steamy moments and not the innocent, domestic ones

you move up and down with each breath of his and find yourself drifting off to sleep to the beat of his heart

I let out a sigh. “Eustace, you have to keep your blade up.” 

Eustace jerked the sword sharply, almost hitting a rope that held one of the Dawn Treader’s sails in place. “I don’t believe in people swinging pointy objects to draw blood as a show of masculinity,” Eustace said with a grumble. “The whole thing is a barbaric practice, and I don’t hold with it.”

I lifted my eyes to the picturesque clouds above, clinging to my patience like a port in a storm. “Maybe you don’t hold with it,” I said patiently, looking back at the grouchy boy, “but it’s better to have the skill and never have to use it than to need it and not have it.”

Eustace eyed me accusingly. “Ladies shouldn’t fight.”

A snort came from behind me, and I glanced to see Edmund peeling a potato with his knife. “Eustace, are you including yourself in that category then?”

“I’ll make you pay for that, cousin,” Eustace replied, his cheeks bright red.

Edmund paused in his task. “How, if you can’t even use a sword?”
