Commander Cody Stans we just keep losing 😔✌🏼
no cause if it was anything else maybe i would be able to close my eyes and enjoy the absolute disrespect of the source material s&b did and maybe if they changed things that still respected the characters it would be fine but they didn’t. the depth of the characters have been utterly reduced to fan favourite moments lined up in a way that makes no sense. the depth of wylan and jesper’s relationship feels like it has been entirely removed in favour of them being just another side gay couple on tv. the quality and pining found in inej and kaz’s relationship is fucking nonexistent and has been replaced with tension that doesn’t make sense. the writers seem to have no real understanding of the characters or care of how they’re portrayed or else maybe this season would’ve felt less like a highlight reel of fans’ favourite parts of the duology and more like an actual coherent story that respects it’s source material. hot take apparently but an adaptation doesn’t have to be a word for word retelling of the story as long as it respects what the source material did and was trying to do along with respecting it’s characters and overall story and s&b just straight up did not do that with the crows. that’s all im saying about that, gorillaz and trigun posting will continue momentarily
"And when you sleep at night, you hear my stolen lullabies" may actually be the best line of Taylor's career for how it combines deep personal meaning, metaphor, and emotional vocal delivery to pack the most poignant punch
the thing about Commander Cody that makes me so absolutely insane is not just how shockingly kind he is- it’s the fact that he’s so kind and tender even though he was never afforded that growing up.
like, none of the clones were, obviously, but Cody even as an Imperial does nothing but talk in gentle tones to citizens and reassured them that he’s only trying to help and does every single thing he POSSIBLY can to avoid bloodshed.
Even With Separatists.
he was never demonstrated with that level of kindness until far, far into his life, and yet it’s his core trait. he’s a good person to the bone and he did that by himself. it’s incredible. he truly does embody the Sun despite growing up on a planet that always rains.
i completely missed the fact that henry flew to the states just to rail alex on his 22nd birthday the first 7383738 times i read this book
casual evening in the dorms
I HAVE ONLY ONE THOUGHT AFTER THAT EPISODE
(credit to @techsluvr for the meme lol)
Watching the princess bride and Wesley just said “I think everyone will be wearing them in the future” when Fezzik asks about his mask that’s so funny they were on point in 1987
I have been cobbling this painting together in private for about a month (turns out Kensington Palace is rather complicated to draw), before giving the finished poster to Casey McQuiston last night as a pub-day gift for RED WHITE & ROYAL BLUE COLLECTOR’S EDITION—a “two homes side-by-side” mashup of canon and cinema featuring Nicholas Galitzine as Henry and Taylor Zakhar Perez as Alex. (Suffice to say, I can’t wait to see them inhabit these roles when the film launches next year!)
To those who came to The Strand last night for the event, thank you so much for your incredibly warm reception. Meeting Casey in person was an absolute dream come true and words fail to express my joy at having brought my skills to the endpapers of a book I adore so much. Apart from being hilarious, brilliant, and genuinely kind, they also happen to give AMAZING hugs:
I hope you’ve had a chance to pick up your copy of the book and that you love Henry’s POV chapter as much as I did (hello waterworks!). Let me know what you think of it in the comments, and just know how endlessly grateful I am to all of you who found my art and liked it enough to share, comment, and shower it with hearts. I’m forever in your debt. 💙❤️💙❤️
my friend is reading rwrb for the first time, and she just keeps giggling and it’s making me so happy
mainly, laughing over alex saying “could you move over? i’d rather not be the little spoon” the urge to say SURPRISE GUESS WHAT HAPPENS
the hill I will die on is that the most tragic story in star wars is the clones' story
