One of my favourite things about canon compliant codywan is how it makes anakin comparatively SO high strung. Like Obi-Wan is just chillin with his low-key lover, having tea, meanwhile Anakin is CONSTANTLY fretting and resentful and angsting over his wife. O66 happens, and Obi-Wan's partner gets mind controlled and he just gets on with things and tries to save Anakin. Anakin meanwhile is self-fulfilling-prophecy-ing his way to a dead wife and the dark side.

They are not the same.

Personally if I’m going to imagine Cody in the Kenobi show verse he has to come into it after the events of the show. I have a hard time believing Obi Wan would have been in such a dramatically bad depression and sleeping on the floor of an empty cave if Cody was his husband the whole time

something i realized thats been driving me insane about this scene is the lighting.

look at him. he’s casted in orange light. his armor color from the war. the Mandalorian armor color for freedom.

as he sits there and disobeys the Empire, as he sits there and negotiates (after Rampart says word for word “we do not negotiate.”) and he’s painted in orange light.

as he sits there and proves that he’s still the person he was during the war- one of the best people, good to the bone- he is shining in his color. the Empire tried to take who he was from him with the chip, and they took his orange from him and painted it over with grey, but here he is proving he’s just as good and kind as he’s always been and here he is still covered in orange.

For such a dark episode, the colours of the animation are beautiful.

I think this is the moment Cody decided he was done. He sees the clone troopers leaving, numbers dropping. The Empire arriving with TK troopers to take over. While being led by a guy who just executed someone who surrendered for peace.

I don’t know what’s happening with his inhibitor chip, but it sure looked like he had his own mind made up at this point.
