THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED THIS YEAR IN KIRBY'S BIRTHDAY COLLAB!

Organizing an event of this magnitude and in this format was somewhat of a new experience for me, I must admit. The road was a bit bumpy even with all the precautions I took, but we made it in the end! I am proud to present you all the fruits of our collective labors - this collage.

Back at it again with a new oc! This time it's Yumemi!

Lore under the cut!

Lore: Yumemi is part of the enderman species of Minecraft, her biological parents are an albino member of the species and a regular one, however her DNA is actually a spliced replica of both, made by a scientist to experiment with genetics, though she was a success, countless others before her failed, she was later sent away to an orphanage, and adopted by two loving parents, but her parents passed away when she was very young, so she had to fend for herself on the streets, she later discovered she had shadow manipulation abilities and used it to help other people who were also on the streets, later she applied for a job as a staff at a coffee shop to earn some money to use for her necessities, but she found it hard to resist going outside into the wilderness, so one day, she packed her bags and left, she wandered around for a while until she finally settled in the Tundra biome, until one day, while she was out exploring, a rift opened up and sucked her in, somehow leading her somewhere very unfamiliar to her, she ended up found by Kushina at the Teitaku Station during her usual shift there and they became best friends.

Abilities:

Teleportation: A must have for an enderman, this is one of their base abilities.

Picking up blocks: Another must have for an enderman, this is also one of their base abilities.

Water Resistance: Albino enderman are less sensitive to water due to there being little to no pigment in their skin that makes their skin incredibly sensitive to water, Yumemi only has half of the resistance however, and the black half of her face and body is extremely sensitive to water.

Shadow Manipulation: The reason Yumemi has this ability is her ancestor also had this ability, but she has recently awakened it, she can summon tentacles and her shadow puppets (Puppets made out of shadows that she uses invisible string-like magic to control them.)

Skills:

Brewing: A skill she picked up while working at the coffee shop, and later refined after finding a tome about the stuff, very good at it.

Archery: She's been an expert at this since middle school, her school had an archery club and she decided to join, has won multiple awards for the school.

She uses this whenever she goes under cover, so she usually hides under someone's shadow and waits for the right time to strike.

Ok, so what if King Olly​ from Paper Mario The Origami​ King​ got a redemption arc? Here's my version of it, along with a story-important crossover with the Kirby series, because yes.

After the events of pmtok,​ Olly ends up in Another Dimension (Specifically the part of it where Magolor found himself in during Magolor Epilogue)​,​ with his magic capacity sliced in​ half, most​ of​ his abilities are also gone​ with the​ ones​ left​ not​ being very effective on enemies, and this place definitely isn't where Olly would want to be right now, since it's crawling with Sphere Doomers, Parallel​ Versions​ of Folded Soldiers and The Legion of Stationery​ (the Parallels are total opposites of their normal counterparts, and most of them are hostile towards Olly, except for Parallel Tape and Parallel Stapler.),​ so he has​ to​ restore​ his​ abilities​ by​ helping​ the​ friendlier individuals residing there, and for the final fight is against a shape-shifting abomination of many other people that he had helped along the way, just to mock and unnerve him, after half of the battle, it gives up, assimilating all of the nearby enemies into a giant abomination of all kinds of creatures folded or not, and when it's at the brink of desperation, it spits out all of the creatures it assimilated, and turns into a swirling mass of darkness, with abilities that are corrupted versions of Olly's own abilities, along with shields Olly must use specific attacks to break, once all the shields are broken and the core is vulnerable, Olly takes notice of the pattern on the floor and realizes it's a magic circle, so he activates it, which he refolds into a giant flash canon, which destroys the core in one fell swoop, Afterwards the shape-shifter bursts into lots of confetti, and a portal opens up, along with an orange butterfly seen flying into it, which Olly reflects his journey one last time, wipes a few tears, and goes into the portal. After getting into the portal, Olly ends up in Dreamland (Somehow, maybe it has to with that orange butterfly.) and meets Dalmo (My​ Kirby​ oc who ​is directly involved in the events of pmtok, since she helped Mario and Olivia out.), he spends some time in Dreamland until they can get another portal working to get Olly back home, after said portal is successfully working Olly decides to go back home, with Dalmo coming in with him, just in case he needs some help. After apologizing to everyone involved, and reuniting with Olivia and the Origami Craftsman, Olly and Olivia now live in a small cabin near the forest, it's not as big as it was but it's still their home after all, and the Origami Craftsman also visits the siblings fairly often And, how did Olly end up in Dreamland? Well, two factors, the portal and Morpho Knight (they're involved in this along with Queen Jaydes)​,​ giving Olly a chance to improve was Morpho's idea in the first place, and Jaydes helped out a little with other stuff.

Lore:

Honey Toast Dee used to be just a regular mouse cursor inside of a regular laptop when a portal opened up inside said laptop, sucking in all kinds of things, fortunately nothing was sucked in except for said mouse cursor, which after drifting inside of that portal for who knows how long, she gained sentience, a pair of eyes, and the dripping honey and vanilla ice cream grabbed from some random stuff she found in that portal.

Shortly after gaining sentience, the portal lead her to Dreamland, and got a super effective critical hit to wherever the head of a mouse cursor is and is now a Waddle Dee with light amnesia.

How is she found? Well, the group (Made up of Periwinkle, Ginger, Moss, Niru, Dalmo, Artist, Magician and Jester Dee, Kamoro, Mari, Wave 3+Marx, Gooey, Dark Matter Swordsman[Aka. Kuro for my AU all ocs exist in the aforementioned AU], and the DL4.) are having a picnic, and when it was time for Marko Polo, Mari ended up finding a critically injured Honey Toast Dee in a nearby bush, and off to the hospital she went.

Honey Toast Dee was in the hospital for weeks as she was knocked out, and when she finally woke up, she tried to make something to eat, only to fail miserably, afterwards Bandee, Periwinkle, Moss, Niru, Artist Dee, Magician Dee and Jester Dee came for a visit and boy did they not expect to see what she did.

Since she technically has honey as an accessory, and you know it spills all over the place, when the gang went to visit her, they literally saw honey spilled all over the place.

And after a few weeks, Honey Toast Dee finally came out of the hospital.

Fun facts:

She's overall very friendly, but when she's scared (Very hard to scare her.) , under attack, or extremely pissed off, she will in fact whack people with a frying pan.

To prevent people from ever trying to make a snack out of her hat, she spiked it with wormwood

She sometimes works at the Dreamland Express as a staff member there.

Her hobbies include drawing, reading, cooking (She carries around a frying pan to try and cook something outside, but it ended up being more like a trusty weapon for her, talk about weaponizing kitchen utensils.)

She is technically in the same category as Starstruck Dee (@starflungwaddledee)

Her name is a pun on my Anon nickname, Honey Toast Anon, while her true form is a pun on my username, looks like the figurative is now literal.

Recent doodles (oc edition)

Another oc I made, this time it’s an expansion of a canon character and some what au-ish, introducing Niru!

Niru’s lore: After everything happened, and getting stuck in whitespace for quite some time the guardian of Whitespace : Twinkle Popopo finds Zero longing for happiness, so gives him a chance to do so, giving him a new form similar to Kirby's species (Astral Puffballs) and Zero ends up on Popstar, crash landing in Whispy​ Woods, later found by Dalmo and Dark​ Matter​Swordsman​ (Nicknamed Kuro​ in this AU and he had positive character growth too.)​.

Also, Niru​ is currently trying to learn about stuff they never had the chance to, despite being considered an adult of their species, they're still child-like in a way, since they're learning about things and boy are they curious about almost everything they don't know about, their blank stare can accidentally unnerve someone too, so basically Niru is a blank slate at the moment with some leftover abilities and memories from their past as Zero/Zero2.

They're also quite expressive, since they would usually copy other's expressions to use at times, though after a bit of mimicking and adding a bit of their own personality in there, the results are quite nice.

They're quite a quick learner too, and mimics many aspects of many people who they hang out with a lot (ei. Dalmo's politeness and kindness, Ginger's forgiveness, Periwinkle's empathy and compassion, and many more traits, both positive and negative.) .

Personality: Niru later on develops their own personality, which is curious, chill and somewhat similar to Ginger, but can be childlike at times.

Fun facts:

Niru is the one of the few ocs by me who uses They/Them pronouns

They love playing in rain puddles whenever they get the chance.

Prone to nightmares despite the Fountain of Dreams being a thing.

Likes music boxes due to it being soothing in their opinion.

Hobbies include: Drawing, reading, playing outside and looking at the stars.

Their sensitive spot is their head, DO NOT HIT IT!

TW Trauma, Mass Murder

Ginger is very adept with the Ninja and Parasol copy abilities,​ since she's been trained to use it at a young age, she's technically about 10 years old in human years, and boy does she suffer from a lot of trauma. What trauma? Family Massacre, she's the last remaining member of her family, she also is very clingy thanks to this and doesn't want to lose another important person in her life, since she has lost her entire family, despite this she still has a Happy-go-lucky attitude, and is very loyal to her friends, and trusting to a fault, though to people she hates with her entire guts, well… Once she finds them, they're sashimi for sure, though she's quite forgiving, which means there aren't a lot of people she hates with her entire guts.

Here’s a new oc​ I've made inspired by (and losely based on) Fern from Adventure Time, Moss!

She’s actually the corrupted grass spirit of Ginger’s home possessing her sister, Rachel’s dead body (Moss is a corrupted grass imbued Dark Matter from an experiment gone wrong on the night of the tragedy that left Ginger as the last survivor.)

Eats fertilizer.

Fun facts:

Loves gardening outdoors.

Can spawn in any plants or fungi on a whim, can use it for offense, defense or anything else.

Has a grass katana that’s as sharp as the real deal.

Knows how to talk to wildlife, comes in handy pretty often.

Can go back and forth between her disguise and her partially revealed true form, prefers her disguise more, since it’s more approachable and less unnerving.

Ginger​ and Moss's dynamic is based on Finn and Fern's dynamic, minus the *cough cough* the Elements mini-series not even happening, and the Green Knight thing being replaced by Moss making a shady deal before the attempted murder, then suffering the consequences by getting sent to Another Dimension instead. *cough cough cough cough-* don't worry, both of them come around eventually.

Also, all that's left of Moss after Ginger's confrontation with her is her iconic sun hat (Y'know, the one with green ribbons and leaves, along with purple flowers, it later gets changed to lavender blue which is the same shade as nemophilas, which Ginger gave Moss, since the purple flowers shriveled up.), and while in Another Dimension, she doesn't have her sun hat, since it's with Ginger, so all she has is her teal bandana which is used to keep the grass on her out of her sun hat and to keep it clean, along with losing her abilities, revealing her true form as Dark Matter, so she has to escape the place to apologize to Ginger (She does in fact regret the murder attempt, since she was blinded by jealousy fuelled rage.).

The other flower on Moss's hat that's on a strand of sorts? That's actually a part of her, and is always going to be with her, even without the sun hat.

Notes on Personality (optional, but preferred!):

She seems cold and hard to approach at first, but she's really a case of cold on the outside but warm on the inside, once you get to know her better, she's kind, compassionate, and understanding, she's willing to stick up for you even during your lowest of lows, Periwinkle is also quite the bookworm, so expect random facts related to the topic of the conversation thrown in there at times, and whenever you're in danger she'll defend you to your very last, though she does have a sharp sense of justice and would try to do the right thing and if talking it out is an option, she'd do that, but if it isn't, get ready to eat explosives for a meal. 

Backstory and Lore (optional): 

After the events of Star Allies Void split in half, one half continuing to wander the universe and the other sent to Popstar, said half being found by Kirby and his friends who were stargazing near the area, and that half was named Periwinkle, since she landed in a field of Periwinkle flowers. She was also injured on the right side of her face, but for some reason the injuries were cracks, no one had any idea on how to treat this kind of wound, so she ended up in the hospital. A few weeks after this she was allowed to leave the hospital, and currently lives in a small cabin near whispy woods. 

Design notes:

Moves around just like any other puffball, can also fly with wings as well, wings work like Void Termina’s wings.

Fun facts: 

Despite however old Void is, she has the mentality of a 12 year-old. 

Periwinkle has immense regret for everything she did as a split half Void, even if it was before she split from Void, she'd apologize profusely to anyone Void had terrorized before they were sealed, since she has all of Void's memories alongside their abilities. 

 The small purple ring planet always seen floating near her times is just an illusion (more or less a 3D model and when touched, your hand just phases through) made from the near bottomless pool of magic Periwinkle has (makes sense for a split half of a god-like being after all)​ which is why it sometimes wouldn't appear, especially if her stamina is incredibly low. 

Unlike Elfilis’ split,Void’s split was totally on purpose, one half to continue doing the thing they do best, while the other half was a “thank you” to Kirby and his friends for giving them a second chance at life. 

Periwinkle is technically genderless but prefers using she/her as pronouns.

If she was to be described with food, she would be described as a chocolate lava cake with blue Hawaiian ice cream, or a refrigerated grape mochi (with blue food coloring) at times. 

She would be the kind of person to read a book to herself until she falls  asleep or do late night research on things that fascinate her. 

When taking flight along with an individual who can't fly, if they're the size of a Waddle Dee or slightly bigger, they can sit in a basket she has, but if they're a lot bigger than a Waddle Dee, let's say she might have to take them by the body part available, which wouldn't be very comfortable, or if there’s any rope nearby, she’d let the person hitching a ride with her tie themselves to the rope and hang on really tight.

Her hobbies include: reading books, drawing, origami and indoor gardening to name a few.

Dream Friends AU Lore

Part 2: Forgotten Land​ part 2+ Post Game

After tracking down several Waddle Dees(while Dalmo's​team was helping out with rescueing the captured Waddle Dees in another direction), Kirby and Ginger​ find a mind controlled King Dedede, Elfilin gets kidnapped, so Kirby and Ginger pursue Elfilin who was being delivered to Forgo, to their shock, King Dedede was (double) mind controlled by a weird mask placed on him, Kirby and Ginger further pursue Elfilin, they find Leongar and Fecto Forgo, Elfilin forcefully gets merged with Forgo making them whole becoming Fecto Elfilis, Kirby and Ginger follow them to Lab Discovera's rooftop where the battle against the ultimate lifeform ensues, after multiple serious blows they managed to free Elfilin and destroy Elfilis with a literal truck. With Kirby and Ginger getting back to Popstar, Elfilin decides to close the rift with the last of their power, a few seconds later Elfilin comes back and, after tracking down the fragments of Leongar's soul, they return it to Leongar, only to see Forgo in a weaker state than before try to possess Leongar, and proceeds to get hit by shurikens in the face from Ginger, as a last ditch effort Forgo tries to fight Kirby and Ginger in soul form, but got interrupted by Morpho Knight, so the two puffballs fought the the scarlet clad knight and won, then Forgo pulls a reverse Morpho Knight and takes some energy from it as a change and the ultimate cup z begins. At the very top of the arena, Kirby, Ginger and Elfilin were horrified seeing Chaos Elfilis, then their battle begins. After several serious blows from Elfilis, Dalmo's team arrives just in time to help Kirby and Ginger to put a stop to Elfilis' wrath, after being defeated Elfilis and Elfilin finally become whole for good.

in the latest cyber-news: the internet archive has lost their case against 4 major publishing houses (verge article). they’re going to appeal, but this is still a bad outcome. the fate of the internet is currently hanging in the balance because 4 multibillionare publishing groups missed out on like $15 of combined revenue during the pandemic because of the archive’s online library service. it’s so fucking stupid.

for those who don’t know what the internet archive is, it’s a virtual library full of media. books, magazines, recordings, visuals, flash games, websites - a lot of these things either don’t exist anymore or cannot be found & bought. heard of the wayback machine? that’s part of the internet archive. it is the most important website to exist, and i don’t say that lightly. if the internet archive goes down, the cultural loss will be immeasurable.

so how can you help?

boycott the publishing companies involved in this. they’re absolute ghouls, frankly, and don’t deserve a penny. the companies involved are harpercollins (imprints), wiley (imprints), penguin random house llc (imprints), and hachette book group (imprints). make sure the websites are set to your location as it may differ worldwide.

learn to torrent. download a torrent client (i recommend transmission), a vpn (i recommend protonvpn - sign up and choose the area that’s closest to your continent/country), and hit up /r/piracy on reddit for websites. with torrenting, you can get (almost) any media you want for free in high quality, with add-ons such as subtitles, and with no risks of loss. i would also recommend getting into the habit of watching stuff online for free. the less you can pay to a giant corporation, the better.

get into the habit of downloading and archiving materials. find a TB external hard drive, ideally the higher the better. it’ll probably cost around $60 for 1TB and continue to go up, but they’re so so useful. if you can’t afford a drive, look for any GB harddrives or memory sticks you have lying around and just fill them up. videos, pdfs, magazines, songs, movies, games - anything you can rip and download and fit on there, do it, because nothing is permanent.

donate to the internet archive. this is the most important option on the list. the IA relies entirely on funding, and it’s going to need more to fight this case. whatever you can donate, do it. i promise it’s helpful.
