sorry...
what non-jily fans don't understand about lily realising she has feelings for james is that the whole deal was NOT cute. lily was screaming and trying to jump from the astronomy tower from the embarrassment while mary and dorcas tackled her down and marlene was pissing her ass off in the background. THAT is jily
James is not a deadbeat dad: I hate when people say that
"Dumbledore had to take his invisibility cloak because he was going out so much," No. Dumbledore borrowed James' cloak so he could research it, he asked to borrow it, and James let him.
"He leaves to go on motorbike rides with Sirius, leaving Lily and harry alone" Also, no. That was a prequel for a reason. It took place three years before Harry's birth and when James was still in Hogwarts, maybe not even dating Lily yet. And even if he was dating Lily, he can still go out because he wasn't in hiding yet.
"He forgot his wand on the couch" Key word. Forgot. He wasn't in a life or death situation, it was just pure death. He voluntarily risked his life to give Lily time to go up those stairs, knowing he'd die. He told Lily to take Harry without him. If you're going to say James is an idiot for forgetting his wand, don't forget, Lily had no wand upon her either. James was scared and clearly had no time to get his wand because one distraction could've made Voldemort pass him.
think about remus mourning peter alone for thirteen years
James didn't mature for Lily It's too overused and melodramatic the way everyone says he grew up for her. War was raging outside of Hogwarts by the time he was at least 14-15 and became more prominent when he was 16-17. His parents dying was when he was around 17-18-19, and they might've gotten drastically sick and admitted to St. Mungos when James was still in Hogwarts. There was also a war going on, traitors and death eaters everywhere, along with choosing to support Remus financially and Sirius running away. I hate when people go 'he-matured-for-a-girl-who-barley-tolerated-him'. I also hate when people, anyone, says James constantly harassed her, stalked her and asked her out. That. Is. Not. Canon. Dating Lily probably wasn't even one of James' thoughts, so there's no way he would change most of his public personality just for her.
there’s definitely infinite scenarios depending on so many things, but yeah, they do part ways and they do find their way back to each other.
now, how long that last? lets say marlene lives long enough only to lose sirius through the veil and we’re back at square one: fucking doomed 🫠
there is no escaping the curse.
I have so many favorite hc for blackinnon, but my all-time favorite is Sirius having a bad feeling the night Marlene dies and telling her not to go home, to spend the night in his house, to stay together-- but Marlene thinks he is being paranoid and goes to visit her home, and ends up dying there with her family. I just love the idea that Sirius lives with the regret that only if he insisted more, maybe that wouldn't have happened.
IT’S THE BEEEEEST OF BOTH WORLDS 🎶💁🏼♀️
pls don’t jump, we need fluffy blackinnon so bad, but you can consider it pay back for giving marlene those horrid new balance, no way, no how she wore those, you cruel cruel human.
a blackinnon story told in reverse: from the heart achingly lost of her life to the very beginning when they started to fell in love.
bonus points if near her death they closer to breaking up o they were already apart.
✨The witches of Black family✨
when ppl say James is oblivious to someone flirting but I know him for the cocky shit he is who thinks everyone is flirting with him.
