this is so ronks coded. what if I throw up.
marauders band au | blackinnon
i haven’t written a single “official” word in any document (just the scraps of interviews here)
BUT
i have figured out how to start the story and, most importantly, what happened with sirius and where is he.
also who the interviewer is.
the whole article is set to be published in the quibbler cause what better place to report on a old rock band that only a few people still remember to this day.
i’ll start working on it after i finish translating.
not gonna lie, i’ve been spending quite a lot of time this morning trying to emulate lady whistledown’s voice in my head to see if i manage to come up with something
but also i think it would be fun for a bridgerton au where marauders are adults and they’re guiding the new generations through the season. maybe it’s me just wanting for jily to meet ginny though (blackinnon could be turn into something more like queen charlotte, which i’m still not over it)
also, sirius is now known in my head as: most notorious rebel, so thanks anon!
there's no better feeling when you’re writing and you become aware of the fact that the plot is actually plotting and it's not just a silly idea running around in your head anymore.
Can I have some blackinnon headcanons😔
sure you can! i love thinking of those two 💓
these are a few of the top of my head:
- they have similar stories for their first kiss. marls went to a party with some of mary’s muggle friends and got to play spin the bottle. james and sirius went exploring the underground one summer and ended up in a very family oriented neighborhood and crashed a birthday party. sirius kissed the birthday girl, ofc. he then got banned from visiting the potters.
- somewhere in fourth year marls kiss sirius, caught him off guard. she just wanted to know what all the fuss was about. things didn’t change much after that.
- fifth year last day of school both marls and sirius have gone through a lot (the prank, marls got into a horrible fight lily, the whole war situation getting worse) so they hook up as means to distract themselves. surely nothing would change right? WRONG.
- cut to the hogwarts express getting back to hogwarts starting sixth year and they both get all so awkward when they bump into each other. it’s embarrassing.
- marlene wrote a few times to sirius over the summer before second and third year. nothing major, nothing relevant. except for the fact those were the only letters walburga allowed for sirius to receive and respond to (aside from peter’s). sirius thinks he secretly did, but walburga knew.
- sirius showed marls around muggle london the summer before seventh year when he went to live on his own. they were together when he bought his infamous leather jacket (secondhand as the leather is always best).
- at some point during the war when things gets worse and it might seem like they will actually lose, sirius implied a proposal to marls. he never actually said the words. they were drunk (i wrote about it i think). anyway, sirius himself diss missed it as “never mind, im drunk, i’m might die soon anyway”.
- marls couldn’t stop thinking about it and hated sirius for putting the idea in her head. she had never thought about marriage, not even after lily and james married, but it’s sirius, after all. she ends up dying instead.
- this one is sad (well, even more so). i think at some point marls had a miscarriage. again, never thought about kids and i personally don’t see blackinnon as parents ever (i project way too hard onto them im afraid), but she never tells sirius about it until they found out lily’s pregnant. marls thinks it’s an horrible idea to have a kid during a war. sirius thinks it’s fine, they’re in love, it’s meant to happen. marls crumbles right there and then after picking a fight over it with sirius.
- padfoot visited marls grave way more often that he’ll care to admit.
didn’t mean to get so depressing but it’s the angst of it all that does it for me 💔
i think walburga wouldn’t care for orion being unfaithful as long as 1) he was discreet about it and 2) he didn’t get involve with anyone near her circle. after all, their marriage isn’t rooted in love.
problem is, orion and cygnuss have been feuding ever since they were kids (orion is closer to him in age than walburga) and finally he decided to start an affair with druella, who happens to be not only is his cousin’s wife but also the one woman walburga despises the most (she never wanted for her to marry his brother).
meanwhile alphard knows all this is happening and stays as far away as possible from all the drama, cause even if he tells his sister, she would find a way to blame him somehow, shot the messenger and all that.
suddenly i’m fifteen again, i have no responsibilities, i’m diving in the blackinnon tag in ao3 and tumblr, that community is active again, life is good.
my best tip for anyone trying to get back into reading is to remember that you can read books to avoid other responsibilities in ur life and it can become a vice if you play your cards right

okay so i looked into it and supposedly she and walburga were born the same year, meaning they could’ve been house mates/class mates. what happened dude? were they both rebels? did ignatius held strong pureblood beliefs unlike his nephews and possibly brother? were walburga and lucretia friends???
okay i’m sorry but why the fuck no one ever talks about lucretia black??? like she married into the prewett family, a well respected pureblood family of which we know nothing about except for fabian and gideon involvement in the order and molly marrying into a well known blood traitor family: the weasleys.
at which point in history the prewett turned blood traitors too???
like was she rebelling because they were already consider that and she loved ignatius anyway? was an arranged marriage?? did her family turn her back on her immediately? during the war? like what happened???? and how did it shape orion’s views on the world, marriage and what he wanted for himself? and the rest of her cousins? she wasn’t erased from the family tree SO WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED? 🙃
Everyone talks about Harry and Lily's eyes in the movie and how Ginny and Ron weren't given justice. But what about Harry and James' CHARACTER and important part of their looks.
They both have the same face, hair, glasses, height and very similar personalities. They were so similar that Harry pointed out their differences which were only their nose and eyes.
Their unusually messy jet-black hair is so important because that's what makes them look so similar and stand out because their hair is so messy. Their height wasn't very important except it told us an estimate of James' height (Harry's height).
The movies completely missed out that Harry is very composed in awkward and most situations. Whenever Harry and Cho interacted in the movies, Harry was this awkward, nervous guy while Cho was the stand up, confident girl while in the books, Harry was all composed (Even when sprayed by Neville's plant in OotP) and natural and Cho was the nervous one. In the movies, Harry was well-known, but girls didn't ask him out everywhere and he was struggling to get a girl. In the books, nearly every girl was asking him out and he denied them, one because a girl was taller than him. Harry was NOT awkward, the most he'll do is blush slightly, look away and go silent. In HBP, he doesn't randomly stand up when Ginny walks into the slug-club, I actually wanted to die watching him interact with girls in the movies.
In general, Harry is a popular jock and hexed people (Goyle, Crabbe and Filch) in the corridors for no reason, but they were stupid (They deserved it though). He had much of James' personality, like with how he can be arrogant, but a savior and empathetic.
With James, in the movies, we were only shown his flaws and weren't shown that he was insanely loyal, stood up for muggle born rights (Despite being a wealthy pure blood), sacrificed his life, saved Snape's life, was a good person, smart, broke the law for his werewolf friend, despised the dark arts, let his runaway friend live with him, supported his werewolf friend financially, was friends with outcasts, head boy, good father and person.
The movies showed that he was a bully, didn't care for people. And when we saw his body in the movies, they didn't show he voluntarily stood up to Voldemort. The movies made it seem like he didn't try to go against him, but was just killed like Voldemort does to all his targets, while they made it look like it was just Lily who sacrificed her life.
In the books, it showed that Harry and James had the same, matching Patronus's. IT was so important because it made Harry think his dad somehow came back to life. Like how Harry went-
"Dad. . ."
-in PoA when he saw the stag patronus. Having James and Harry look so similar, act similar and die similar (Having both James and Harry stand up against Voldemort voluntarily and voluntarily go to him) was entirely erased in the movie adaption. It was James' sacrifice that made Harry sacrifice his life in the forbidden forest and fight Voldemort in the graveyard when Voldemort mentioned that James stood tall against him.
Everything would've been different if Voldemort gave James the choice to live and back off just like Voldemort gave Lily the choice.
