The Outbursts of Everett True was a comic strip that ran in papers from 1905 to 1927, wherein the aforementioned Everett True regularly beat the everliving shit out of rude people as a warning to anyone else who might consider being rude. Men have not only been taking up too much room on public transport for about as long as public transport has existed, but the people around them have been irritated about it for at least a hundred years. My beta reader and I have this AU we talk about (but I’ll never write) and in it, Beedle is an immortal deity who secretly lives in Link’s and Zelda’s house’s shed and it allows him to time travel to Skyward Sword’s time and Wind Waker’s time, which is why he’s in each game. Link and Zelda do not know he sometimes lives there, because he’s usually on the road and only lives in the shed when he needs to time travel. No one else can time travel with the shed.

In this same AU, Revali has a “news” tv show where all he does is roast Link. It’s called “The Bird’s Words” and Link is secretly obsessed with it. He finds it so funny and his goal is to be on it one day. He doesn’t let Revali know because then Revali may stop making it. Link owns merch for it but it annoys Zelda because she hates the show (she loves Link and can’t stand Revali bad mouthing him), so he gets his own secret well to store his Bird’s Words paraphernalia. When Revali dies and has no physical form, he turns the show into a podcast.

This AU takes place in the same universe as my fic “An Apple a Day”, but the apples don’t actually come up much when my beta reader and I talk about it.

My favorite part of this whole thing is that my beta reader has not played any LoZ game, nor watched any playthroughs, nor read any of the mangas. The only things she knows are what I tell in my fics and when I info dump about the characters. This means sometimes she forgets certain things aren’t canon. The other day I told her that Beedle doesn’t sell apples, much less Link’s apples, and she was so bewildered that you’d think I told her I made up Beedle himself
