the worst part about ocd and ocd-like tendencies is that you think hyper-analyzing your thoughts and constantly psychoanalyzing yourself will fix you but that's actually part of the disorder. it's the disorder. disordering.

It could possibly be that he doesn't care about his face anymore because he knows about his past now, except...
This is after all the stuff about Ai and Aikawa is revealed. he knows who he was in the past, he just doesn't remember yet.
it's only after he gets Ai, Aikawa, and Kai's memories that he's like, yeah, I don't need my face fixed. up until then he's still pretty adamant about getting his face back, even though he knows who he used to be
if it was just about knowing who he was in the past and accepting who he is in the present, i think there would more of an indication that he's okay with keeping the lizard face even before he gets the others' memories
Kaiman suddenly being okay with keeping his face doesn't feel like acceptance to me, but avoidance. It seems to me more like he's trying to keep some degree of separation between himself and Kai, or even between himself and Hole, since Kaiman was the one that was influenced the least by Hole. Keeping his face is a measure of control and distance between him and the stuff he does n o t want to deal with. bc lets be honest, there's no way Kai's memories aren't traumatizing as hell. we saw how Aikawa reacted (straight up just avoided dealing with it for as long as possible) there's no reason to think Kaiman wouldn't react in a similar way. keeping his face is a great way to maintain that separation and avoid dealing with the fallout of Kai's actions

Does not understand how he gives off teenager energy.
is probably not gonna stop having nightmares about the time he got murdered. Joined by nightmares of killing/eating his Partner.
A good way to get stabbed is to refer to him as Kaiman’s ex
Failed out of devil training for having an undevilish attitude.
Found out that he was still on the Crosseye payroll when they started sending him his missed paychecks for the time span that he was dead once the organization got back on its feet.
Does not understand how people can mistake him for Kaiman. They look nothing alike other than height.
After the dust settled on the whole Hole-kun situation had a very long talk with Kaiman about their shared history
Is lowkey relived that Kaiman has a lizard face and not Aikawa/Kai’s face. He doesn’t have to deal with the emotional baggage as much.
Doesn’t question why Curse eats the things it takes. (Not personally bothered by cannibalism)
Does think Kai’s head(s) tasted disgusting.
Misses being able to fly.
Due to the whole being murdered thing, can no longer be the little spoon.
Thinks Professor Kasukabe’s door is creepy as hell. Thinks Prof. Kasukabe is creepy as hell in general.

Nikaido
Does eventually met up again with her accidentally erased from the timeline sister as well as her foster parents. It’s weird but nice.
Once did the math on how much it costs to feed Kaiman and asked Kawajiri if any of his rich devil friends would be interested in having a lizard with an ass that won’t quit as a sugar baby
Every now and then gets events from different timelines confused
Finds Noi’s attempts to befriend her strange but harmless
Does not like Chota
If there were no consequences for it she would whoop En’s skinned troll doll looking ass
When she told Kaiman they’d be friends no matter what she ment that shit, she was still on his side when she thought that he was the Crosseyes boss.
Can bench press Kaiman.
Has borrowed Kaiman’s shirts/jackets b/c they comfy
Once got a friendship bracelet from Kaiman made of his shed teeth. Thought it was gross but kept it in her jewelry box.
If she’d been a devil longer she would have become a little annoyed by how generic her devil form looked.
Was highkey stressed the fuck out growing up in the Hole before Shin destroyed the militia.
Had to clean out her smoke holes on a regular basis since she just straight up didn’t use magic for so long but still produced a good amount of smoke
Absolutely loves cooking together with Kawajiri again
When she figured out that Kaiman wasn’t just her friend but also basicly her Partner she couldn’t look at him without blushing for at least a day. Kaiman thought she had a fever or something.
Thinks Risu is fun when he’s not on edge
Is always the big spoon. Yes, Kaiman has to have anti-stabbing precautions used b4 any kinda cuddling that could end up with them both asleep. Nikaido likes not being stabbed in the face or head.

Keeps a jar of his shed teeth
Owns his house, probably killed the land lord and good for him
Does eventually find a therapist. It’s pretty damn helpful. 10/10 would recommend to his friends.
Having headaches becomes a serious trigger for him. He does try working on it.
Is aware that he should probably talk to his grandpa and Dokuga and Tetsujo but like… no. He’s not ready for serious talks with family. (Are the Crosseye elites family? Kinda? He/Kai did take care of them for awhile?)
100% doesn’t know what the fuck he actually is anymore and neither does anyone else.
Doesn’t actually excrete, all bodily waste joins the sludge. Managed to accidentally give off the illusion of being a normal person b/c he regularly goes to the bathroom to wash his hands, brush his teeth, and shower.
Is aware that the Hole entity continues to exist but is also aware that it probably won’t be strong enough to start shit again for a few millennia. And since all the people he gives a fuck about probably won’t live that long he is unbothered by that fact, the sorcerers will reap what they sow.
Also bad at foresight
Doesn’t want to die but believes anyone wanting revenge on him for Kai’s bullshit is perfectly valid.
Took an apology gift basket to Tanba’s restaurant.
Has referred to Shin as a manlet once, nearly died but it was worth it
Definitely gonna get fat when he hits his 40s/50s but he is a-ok with that

Does not care for Thirteen. Feels that Thirteen does not drink enough respecting women juice
He and Nikaido disagree on economics
Thinks cannibalism is gross as hell. Would be offended at the insinuation that he eats people. (Even if he did eat people when he was Kai/Hole-kun)
Before he started regaining his memories he was vaguely aware that he probably wasn’t a good person
Since learning how to make gyoza he’s branched out into learning how to make other kinds of dumplings.
The gyoza fairy low key freaks him out.
The gyoza fairy is not the only human world magical/spirit being he ends up meeting
When Natsuki, Ton, Saji, and Ushishimada got resurrected they all gave at least one go at kicking his ass. Just on principal. Then they, and Dokuga and Tetsujo, worked together with Nikaido and Risu to make Kaiman take a family photo with them.
Crosseyes headcanons (with special guests)
Nikaido
- Is declared an honorary Crosseye as the ex-boss’s partner and for being nice to Natsuki, Risu, Dokuga, Tetsujo, and Kaiman
- “Train us Nikaido-senpai!” Natsuki decides that the gang should learn some fighting skills form Nikaido b/c Nikaido is very very good at fighting.
- There is an unspoken understanding that in the Crosseye hierarchy that Nikaido ranks higher than Dokuga and Tetsujo. Not only did she beat them in a fight they also work at her restaurant.
- Nikaido is a-ok with taking drug money as payment and gifts
- Sometimes the Crosseyes rotate young adults by the Hungry Bug like, “X needs a job, they work cheap and they won’t rob you.”
- Nikaido disagrees with the Crosseyes on economics. She’s a capitalist and they’re out and out communists.
