Rei: Umu. I did some research regarding it, and I found that no one in RhythmLink requested that we take part in the experiment.
Koga: Huh? W-whaddya mean!?
Rei: I asked and it seems that it was a machine we spoke with. No real person knows about the experimentâ that is the story they are sticking with.
It is unusual for myself to put on a serious face, but this time I feigned total ignoranceâŠ
It was rather bold of me, to tell a lie.
Kaoru: Yup. The higher ups thought we were behaving recklessly and were all up in arms about it.
Adonis: Umu. We were flooded with messages asking what HELLSING was.
Koga: I-Iâm startinâ to feel kinda scaredâŠ
Guess Iâm speakinâ with hindsight but we was probably too hasty âbout gettinâ involved with a questionable experiment.
Rei: So it seems⊠We realised we were losing popularity and tried to regain as much control as we could as quickly as we could.
And it all snowballed from there. In reality, I am as much of a fool as I thought I wasâ I must reflect on this.
Kaoru: You can reflect later, but first we need to focus on the problem at hand.
Rei 2: Eh? Whereâs the problem?
Ainât this turninâ into a good thing for you guys?
Kaoru: Okay? Fake Rei-kun, can you shut it? Weâre having an important conversation right now, alright?
Rei 2: Haha, someoneâs in a bad mood~! If your lack of sleep is gettinâ to ya, why dontcha sleep with me, Kaoru-cha~n âȘ
Kaoru: Wa, nonononoâŠ.Youâre just being creepy and gross now. Adonis-kun, you deal with him.
Adonis: Iâd rather not either. Please donât pass him to me.
âŠDespite his appearance, the fake Sakuma-senpai is nothing like him.
As things are now, fake me probably has a different personality too.
Adonis 2: ...
Rei 2: Our recall ainât perfect yet, ân we still got a long way tâgo. But hey, weâre still collectinâ data from you as we speakâ
Sooner or laterâ, weâre gonna be so similar to you that even your parents wonât be able tâtell the difference.
Adonis: Is that your purpose?
Rei 2: You oughta be usinâ keigo, kohai. Even though weâre brand new, you still gotta pay respect to us.
Rei: I actually feel rather lonely when someone speaks to me in keigo. It's distant.
Rei 2: Youâve gotten soft, real me.
Well whatever. Becominâ ârealâ is instinct, but not our purpose.
We donât have a sense of purpose.
Like I said earlier, weâre machines, wooden dolls, puppets. We ainât got a heart, jusâ programminâ.
To feel, to think, to desireâ
And dreaminâ too, is an annoyinâ flaw unique to you humans.
Rei: I believe that is what makes humans so fantastic.
We should move on. Questioning these fakes is not worth our time. Let us leave these machines behind and begin exploring the inside of the facilities.
Though it seems they have already disposed of any evidence, perhaps we can locate some documents here and there. Then we can discover why this has taken place.
And before you ask, I have already reported what we know so far to ES and the RhythmLink higher ups, and have been given permission to search the facilities.
Adonis: As always, Sakuma-senpai is fast at covering all his bases.
Rei: Thatâs one of my strong points. Of course, we are far from experts, and I donât expect to find muchâ
But what else can we do in this moment?
Rei 2: Whilst youâre doinâ that, weâll carry on with idol activities in your place.
Koga: Haa? Get over yourselves, you ainât real.
The fans are confused âcos of you. They donât wanna see fakes that only look like us from the outside, you bastards.
Rei 2: Confused? But from what I saw, there were a lot of really happy fans?
Itâs pretty funny once you realise butâ
When fans saw what HELLSING was up to, they was so happy, cryinâ too, goinâ âThe real UNDEAD are back!â
Can you guys even afford a detour by checkinâ out the facility?
Whilst youâre worryinâ âbout things that donât matter, weâre replacinâ you âȘ
Koga: ...

Chapter 2
gonna try making an actual rosemary simple syrup tomorrow instead of, you know. putting in 18 whole rosemary leaves. why did i think that was a good idea. it should be noted that i don't know how to cook at all
i tried recreating the adonis mocktail from the enstars collaboration cafe without ANY cocktail/mocktail experience so I just muddled some rosemary and thawed frozen pink dragonfruit in a glass (read: mushed it with the back of a spoon) and added club soda and blue curaçao and it is BRIGHT purple. adonis color
In the absence of a clear and obvious angle to attack Bushnellâs protest, most likely due to his status as a serviceman that would make outright insulting him or suppressing the news itself scandalous, discussions on Western shores have now taken on the familiar framing of mental illness. In Time Magazineâs write-up of Bushnellâs death, the article finishes with a link to the suicide hotline, and asks readers to contact mental health providers if they are experiencing a âcrisis.â Mark Joseph Stern, a writer at Slate, seemingly unasked, also wrote on Twitter/X:
âI strongly oppose valorizing any form of suicide as a noble, principled, or legitimate form of political protest. People suffering mental illness deserve empathy and respect, but it is wildly irresponsible to praise them for using a political justification to take their own life.â
Conviction does not exist to the American. To be willing to die in a selfless act for what they believe in only exists for those outside America's sphere of influence. Many will recall reporting on those who self-immolated in protest in Iran and in Russia for instance where this sort of approach, unwilling to engage with the root of its cause, would not even be entertained, let alone written and published with sincerity. The Arab Spring began with a self-immolation. The self-immolation of Buddhist monks in protest of South Vietnamâs persecution became defining images of the war and its corruption. Within Americaâs walls however, there is a belief, unspoken and ingrained from birth, that democracy allows for everyoneâs voices to be heard and that its representatives are inherently inclined to respond to the people and their widespread wishes.
Desperation at inaction or complicity in terror and atrocity need not apply. Everyone incensed by their government to such an extent must simply have something wrong with them. To be able to go about oneâs day knowing that children are screaming from the hunger that is eating their insides and that pregnant women are eating bread made from animal feed, and that the United States is supporting Israelâs creation of this famine, is apparently the real sign of well-adjustment.
