you looked around the beautiful street feeling absolutely blessed to be in such a gorgeous place with your even more gorgeous boyfriend. usually, oscar was away in some other country for his races, but there wasn't going to be a race for a few weeks so you were able to spend a few weeks with each other.

his gaze met yours and he nodded his head to the left and when you found where his eyes were pointing you let out an excited squeal and reached up to kiss his cheek.

you had always loved photo booths and had boxes full with ones you’d been through with your friends, but none with your boyfriend.

the two of you crossed the street, hands never leaving each other’s as you got closer to the charming little booth that seemed to be inside the wall.

sliding his coins into the little slot out front he, pulled away the curtain and held out his arm, “ladies first.”

you pulled the corners of your dress up a bit and curtsied, “why thank you, kind sir.”

while the photo booth looked vintage from the outside, it was quite modern on the inside, telling them to “pose during the countdown and wait for the flash”.

“what do we do,” oscar pressed his cheek against your shoulder, “c’mon, what?”

you looked at the screen and saw how sweet he looked with his face pressed up against you so you laid your head on his shoulders and decided that would be the first pose.

you and oscar had been dating for many months, and had liked each other for quite a while before that. despite having been with him so long, neither of you had managed to say “the l word” yet, but that certainly didn’t mean you didn’t love him.

everything about the boy had had you captured since you’d first met. from his mis-matched socks to his beautiful smile, you were gone for him almost immediately.

you wanted to tell him how much you loved him, but worried since he hadn’t said it to you yet, and thought that maybe the love was one sided.

you felt a poke on your cheek and looked up at your smiling boyfriend who was once again asking what they should do, unable to get your thoughts of love out of your head, you stared dumbfounded at your boyfriend and before you could register the camera was flashing again.

this time you were sure, it was the most perfect moment possible and even if he didn’t say it back, at least he would know how truly loved he is.

“smile for the camera,” the screen went back to the countdown. “three, two-“

before the camera could flash again, you leaned up and whispered in your boyfriends ear, “i love you.”

you felt his head jerk away from your face and simultaneously your heart crumble to bits. you looked at his shocked face on the screen, jaw hanging low and eyes wide. he slowly turned to you before reaching up to brush his fingers against your cheek.

you had kissed before obviously, but it was never anything like this. It was slow paced and his hand stayed pressed against your cheek, his thumb rubbing slow circles against your skin.

your hand tangled its self in his hair and pulled him in closer, if that was even possible. his hand moved from your cheek to around the back of your neck ad pulled you in closer just as you had done.

the screen flashed and the room lit up, frightening you both out of the moment the camera had definitely managed to capture. he rested his forehead against your own and brought his hand back up to your cheek.

"i love you too," oscar stood up and pulled you up with him for another kiss before stepping out of the booth, pulling the curtain away for you. "i call dibs on the picture, by the way."
