Like music to my ears
Due to personal reasons, I am switching to a canon where Natasha moved her family onto the Avengers compound post-Endgame, because obviously the Snap couldn’t get any of them. And Antonia and a bunch of other Widows ended up coming along. The government undoubtedly panic-funded the Avengers after the snap, so she’s got a lot of money to get the Widows into college or whatever they want to do.
The other Avengers come back from their various angstfests and the place is crawling with Russians. The Widows are playing games, having fun, working on college applications, and messing with all the expensive equipment. A few of them are probably making out now that they’re allowed to have actual relationships.
Natasha is working in one of the offices while some of the more business-oriented Widows wander in and out to help her. Yelena and Alexei are having a very aggressive, very Russian Super Smash Bros death match on the Playstation (right before Alexei’s Big Fight with Steve, of course). Melina is making magic in Tony’s lab and trying to get the pigs to spell with alphabet blocks. Said pigs are running all over the fields, and making a glorious mess of things, along with Fanny the dog. Antonia is out in the sun listening to music and waiting for when she’ll be able to take the bandages from her latest facial reconstruction surgery off.
The Avengers come in, all confused, and she very nicely tells them to get with the fucking program, and also don’t take Melina’s special snacks from the fridge. Then Alexei challenges Steve to a duel, just as soon he manages to finally beat Yelena at Super Bros.
(And obviously Natasha doesn’t die in this reality, because everybody flies to Vormir and bullies the Red Skull into giving her back after she sacrifices herself).
angela bassett is MOTHER
im actually dying rn
it's so nice that Ellie was able to experience the right of passage that all queer women go through— walking past a Victoria's secret and looking at the display just a little bit longer than normal
romanticizing your life is such a powerful tool and it’s a shame that it’s mostly used by people on tiktok to justify the purchase of expensive breakfast smoothies when there are few better ways to force oneself through unpleasant shit than imagining a cinematic backstory for your extremely quotidian suffering
There’s a whole chapter in Scott Lang’s book dedicated to Natasha. I’m crying.
I've said this many times before -if you call yourself a feminist and you're silent about ANY person being oppressed around the world by violent dictators/regimes/governments (among many injustices) you're not a feminist. If your feminism isn't intersectional, it's not feminism -it's white feminism. If you don't know about or aren't talking about Sudan and the rampant sexual violence against Sudanese women by a terrorist genocidal militia -then GET TO KNOW and start talking about it because this is horrifying. I'm so tired of seeing mostly white women come to the frontlines of issues when it only benefits or impacts them. I'm beyond embarrassed for you.
we barely recovered from the BAFTAS, and now this?
