He voices Mephiles, the only Sonic villain that successfully kills Sonic. And he came from the ever-so-shitty Sonic 06 as well. If people haven’t got on Yami’s good side who knows what he might do. Maybe be like Mephiles

As much as I love S0 Yami, I have a soft spot for the Yami now. His willingness to open his heart for other people, to trust….is just fucking amazing. And the way humanity shines through him as the series goes on…

As horrible as he could be I forgive him. I know. It’s insane. But I can’t take it back.

You know when i first saw s0 Yami, especially manga Yami, I thought “A dark hero with questionable morality, cool!” But looking deeper, the way he so childishly calls the pentalty games, sending souls to an equivalent to Hell an x-game. Comparing it to a COMEDY GAME AND GRINNING GLEEFULLY . Not to mention the fire maze in particular, he’s a game master, and the poor gang members are just rats in need of exterminating.

He’s worse than Marik, he’s worse than even Zorc, because they are evil because they are born from hate, they know no kindness. But Yami DOES, and he knows exactly what he’s doing when playing those games. Not to mention his human, seemingly weak appearance fools every one of his ‘players’. He thinks eternal suffering is JUSTIFIED for crimes that seem petty in comparison. And he cleans up. No one’s come knocking on Yuugi’s door about a burnt corpse or insane patients.

I mean, think about it. If he didn’t go back into the puzzle, if he hadn’t met Yugi or grown close with Anzu and the others. He could easily kill anyone who crossed his path, but plays the games to test them, prolonging their fate. In the name of justice. And THAT’S why there are monstrous leaders in the world, they kill millions in the name of what they believe is right.

Forget torrents of destructive power, he’d pick them off like ants, one by one, leaving only pure hearted. And with the human nature, that’s almost zero of all humans out there. And no one would even know because they would forget they ever existed, or there was simply no trace.

And that, is why Yami no Yuugi terrifies me.

So..I was playing Duel Links and this mission came up, making me realize that in order to bring Yami Yugi into this world, you’ll have to Defeat him as Kaiba (at highest lvl ) and summon a Blue Eyes on the way…

thinkin about how kaiba's last-but-one appearance in the ygo dm manga is this "unbothered. moisturized. happy. in my lane. focused. flourishing." kaiba, like he'd still like to ever win against yugi & atem but it's not chapping his ass anymore

but then in DSoD he gets Weird About It again. which to me definitely suggests it is Not about winning as much as it is about his #1 bestest rival is like DEAD dead. not like "oh he died i guess but he's a friendly ghost & you can hang out with him" but like dead dead.

KISSED? as a joke tho. kaiba not wanting to appear chicken is like ugh FINE we can make out i guess if it's a joke. and then a few weeks later atem is like hahaahahaha kaiba what if we went to this tag duel tournament as partners but like, totally a joke. and kaiba rolls his eyes and agrees and then they're tag dueling more and like, travelling around to different competitions. staying in the same hotel room as a joke. cuddling in the limo on their way to the tournament, but like, TOTALLY a joke. haha kaiba what if after the duel we went out to a fancy dinner wouldn't that be funny. atem calls yugi on the road like HAHAHA YUGI IT'S HILARIOUS WE MADE OUT BACKSTAGE while kaiba is blushing furiously and trying to grab the phone away. STOP TELLING YUGI THIS. they get back to domino a few weeks later and atem stays over at Kaiba's penthouse... just as a joke tho! atem and kaiba go everywhere together and spend every night talking duel monsters strategy and wake up together and sometimes kaiba will bring atem breakfast in bed.

Okay, just imagine… What if Yugi is the one who has the worst punishment ideas when facing an atagonist like “I want to set this man on fire because he touched my chick!” or “I’m going to kill that gang with my yoyo” and then Atem read his mind and is like “Man, that’s WILD” and then comes out and does it because he thinks that’s what Yugi wants (probably because he’s scared of him and his mind).

And what if Atem is genuinely concerned about Yugi’s mental health? He keeps checking on him and asking him “You OK, bro?” basically everyday. He also chooses to face the villains himself not because he wants to protect Yugi but because he has mercy and wants to protect the villains from Yugi’s wrath? And when Yugi entered Atem’s soul (during Battle City), Atem probably freaked out a lot because HOW THE HELL did he get there?

What if Yami Marik knew about that and that’s why he decided to use Yugi as a sacrifice during the shadow game with Atem? Because he knew that his madness was no match to Yugi’s evilness.

Yugi’s warmth and friendships might be a kind of model for Atem in how he relates to the world, while Seto’s stunted sociality and his thirst for competition are familiar and close to Atem, and so Atem becomes a bridge between Yugi’s ideology and Seto’s ideology. That ancient sumerian joke about the dog that no one can understand anymore is making me think like, Atem remembers an ancient Egyptian joke, and he's crying laughing trying to re-tell this joke to yuugi and all his friends like "the cat and the jackal go for a swim in the river and the cat turns to the jackal and says, my barking brother your beer is bad!!" and they're like... that's nice buddy... (???) ...we don't get it. and Atem is so frustrated. Someone PLEASE laugh at this joke with him. So he calls kaiba and tells him the joke and kaiba's like "that's stupid and I don't get it" and hangs up. But an hour later his ancient Egyptian memory files finally load and he chokes on his coffee mid-conference call and has to excuse himself to go call Atem back and tell him he understands the stupid joke and it's fucking funny. UGH. Atem is thrilled.

I present to you: my observations regarding Atem and Yugi's relationship, with a few head cannons mixed in. I intend to add to this as I please.

Whenever the two of them are conversing in Yugi's mind or next to each other for whatever reason in the anime, Atem's body is almost always facing Yugi's. Even when his head is turned forwards, Yugi is for the most part always in his peripheral vision. The main exceptions to these are when Atem's already facing Yugi or when he knows he's safe.

I have a head cannon that at the end of the day, the pair discuss what happened over the course of that day. Like if Yugi spent a lot of time studying for a test, Yami would reassure him that he would pass. Or if they met a little fan, they would talk about how cute the child was or something along those margins.

When Atem duels, we don't see a lot of Yugi. He shows up in the more important duels, but for the most part he lets Yami do his thing. On the contrary, when Yugi duels Yami is by his side the entire time. Encouraging him, giving compliments on his better plays, occasionally offering advice. During the final duel, Yami also complimented Yugi on his best plays.

Yami is really good at giving compliments in general. Another of my head cannons is that Yami learned this behavior to compensate for Yugi's lack of self-esteem, and it eventually leaked over into the rest of his shared life.

Yugi really stepped into his bravery and courage when he was faced with helping Yami. It was one of the first times he faced something without the other him, but he stepped into the role without question and dueled Yami Bakura with determination.

During the final duel, we see a lot of Atem being surprised over Yugi's strength. It's the first time he directly sees just how strong his aibou really is. But, he also is a lot nicer to Yugi than in any of his other duels. Sure, the yelling is there, but the worst thing he says is "well done, but it's not good enough!" Or something along those lines. That's in comparison to most of his other duels, where he mildly taunts his opponent and often yells "you're wrong!"

Atem is used to fighting Yugi's battles. He always stepped up during duels and when Yugi was in danger. I have a head canon that this is why Atem was so surprised when Seto and Mahad and the other members of the council told him to stay back and let them fight.

Yugi doesn't really stand up for himself at all, at least not that I can remember. But, during the final duel, he does. He yells at kaiba for leaving before the duel was over. Atem told Yugi that he was proud of him for standing up for himself. I don't know why I find that so cute, but I do.

Another thing from the final duel: I honestly love how Yami could tell what Yugi was thinking, even though they weren't sharing a body at that point in time. He noticed that Yugi was doubting himself, and gave his aibou a pep talk. And then Atem proceeded to look very pleased that his pep talk worked.

And now, my stuff from dark side of dimensions: the one time Yugi said he always misses Atem has to be on here, it wouldn't be a proper list without it.

During that movie, I also noticed that Yugi learned a lot more from Atem than just bravery and self-love. He incorporated a lot of his dueling strategies in his duels, and the way he interacted with other characters (but mostly kaiba) was a lot like Atem.

And then, you know, Atem showing up just when Yugi passes out. Some might argue that this is just Atem showing up when he's needed, but I'm choosing to focus on the fact that he was a no-show until Yugi was physically hurt.

Notice how distraught Yami is whenever he thinks Yugi is gone forever? First in their duel against Pegasus, and then after Yugi's soul is taken by the orichalcos. When Yugi's other Friends get hurt, Atem is obviously upset, but he can still keep it together. He stays calm and level-headed, and then wins the next duel to save the person in danger. But when Yugi disappears, Yami panics and makes rather rash and hurried moves. He still manages to win, because plot armor, but you can tell that it wasn't his A game. He also gets angry and takes it out on different people, such as weeble.

Atem is also the only Yami who genuinely cares about his host. As #13 states, he gets upset when Yugi is gone, whereas all the other Yamis would be overjoyed to get rid of their host. That one is kind of obvious, but I left it out at the beginning so I'm putting here.

This image right here. The fact that Yami is standing in front of Yugi protectively.(it's kinda interesting that he laid him down face first into whatever their head is made of, like Téa at least held him up, but shhhhhh)

16. From what I remember, Yami doubts himself (thinking he isn't worth it, tearing himself down) twice in the series(tell me if I missed anything though). During the seal of orichalcos business after Yugi's soul got taken away, and when Yugi was passed out or whatever happened to him during the duel against Pegasus. Notice a pattern here...?

17. I HAVEN'T DONE ATEM'S COPING MECHANISMS YET? WHAT KIND OF A FAN AM I??? *Deep breath* ok. Remember when Joey was hurt? It was the battle city arc(I forget what was ailing him...did he get locked in the shadow realm?). Yami punches the wall in rage and then decides to defeat Marik. But when Yugi is gone, Atem just loses it. He cries for the first and only time, he blames himself entirely (it was totally his fault though) and that whole "it's all my fault" causes him to lose hope. He didn't want to keep going until Joey knocks some sense into him. Literally. He mercilessly attacks weevil(not that he didn't deserve it) and we get a taste of that season zero Yami(but less gremlin like). He is a MESS. That got off topic fast....my point is that when it isn't Yugi in danger, Atem seeks revenge. When it IS Yugi in danger, Yami loses his mind and doesn't want to keep going and feels many intense emotions he's never felt before.
