🌱Different Versions! ✨

Just want to update everyone who ordered within the time frame of 10/30 - 11/26!

I’ve received one of my boxes of inventory but am still awaiting the second. Once both are here, I’ll begin directly fulfilling all orders of the products in stock; “COOL CAT,” “Super Soft, Super Strong” ringer shirts and sweaters alike, “Sushiboy,” and “Doctor! Doctor!”.

“In Gloom” and “Pink Triangle” both sold out at AnimeNYC due to unexpected reception of both, so there is no residual inventory.

“In Gloom” is made with screen printing and I already have the blank garments here in stock in the room, so I’ve just got to bring those over the the printer. I’ve already started sourcing the bulk fabric for the second batch of “Pink Triangle” hoodies so once my printer receives that, we’ll begin the production!

My only worry is that these may arrive to some shortly after Xmas, because I don’t see these getting completed and shipped on my end within the next two weeks. Initially, my friends Alex and Jonathan were working on this operations-wise, while Alex and I were mutually involved in the creative process with his project 3-Legged Threads. Though, Alex realized he needed to fulfill his own creative desires and chose to depart shortly before NYC (we’re still good friends). While in NYC, some really sort of stressful and troubling instances occurred on both ends, henceforth Jonathan is no longer working on this project with me. Jonathan is credited on the “Pink Triangle” design due to his input during its creation, while Alex came up with the initial sketch we used in “COOL CAT,” along with photographing much of the clothing. I apologize if all of this takes some time, but please remember that printing on its own is a major part of this art form. このイラストは「ソラニン」という好きな漫画と映画からファンアートです。 2011年から俺はソラニン経由で浅野いにおの世界をだんだん発見でした。その時期から最近まで、自分の中で漫画の意味がたいへん変わったです。

その時間はきっと忘れずにはずです🌱

This illustration is a fan art from a favorite manga and film by Inio Asano, “Solanin”.

Starting from 2011 from Solanin, I over-time discovered Inio Asano’s world. Since then, the meaning of manga within myself has really changed.

That time surely will surely not be forgotten 🌱

I think maybe “shoujiki manga” is a better name than “depressed manga” (on the internet, “utsumanga” is a popular term to label this sort of ‘sad’ manga created by Asano-sensei and peers like Oshimi Shuzo and Kengo Hanazawa.

Btw in Tokyo there’s currently a 20th anniversary celebration going on! Big exhibition and pop-up shop in Ikebukuro accompanied by his 2nd art book (first in a decade) “CtrL+T2.” If you’re a fan of his works, most of them are translated in English by either VIZ, Fantagraphics, or Vertical. If not in English, please support the Japanese releases through Kinokuniya book web, Amazon, or websites like CDJapan (￣▽￣)👍🏻Remember that scanlations are a great way to discover manga 🙆🏻‍♀️ but not a great way to collect manga 🙅🏻‍♀️
