Don’t just accept the new Terms of Service

Tumblr’s at it again, thanks to the new European Privacy Laws. There’s probably nobody who will read this, but it pissed me off so much that I decided to make a post about it. (Ignore the weird language mish-mash, depending on your country the language might differ.)

OK, so many of us get this screen when we try to access our dash:

Realise how the ‘OK’ button is a nice, attention-grabbing blue? If you’re like me, you’re not exactly into reading a 100 pages document and tend to just click it.

My tip? DONT. Instead click on ‘Manage Options’ right next to it:

Now you’ll see this page:

Still pretty harmless, right? That ‘Accept’ button is looking really attractive right now. Instead, click on Verwalten (Probably something like ‘Manage Options’ or something in english) and you’ll get to this page:

Now that’s not too bad, right? I just switched all the buttons to ‘off’, because I’m jealously guarding my personal information and don’t want Tumblr to go off and do who knows what with it. Looks like we’re done! But wait: There’s a SHOW option.

When we click on that one, what we will get is this:

A HUGE list with OVER 300 ENTRIES of companies that can use your data by default if you’d just clicked ‘OK’ on that very first page. Coincidence that this list is hidden that much? Me thinks not. They’re all switched on by default, but I am still a petty bitch that doesn’t want to give out her data, so I switched them all off. All 300+ of them. There is no option to switch them all off at once, and even if you disable all the options above, the companies are still switched on.

(If you wonder how i got that number, I copied the list into excel and looked at the cell number. No way am I actually counting all those entries)

    On this day in 1972, Apollo 17 landed on the moon. No human has been back in 42 years. At 2:55pm EST on December 11th, 1972, soon after undocking from Ron Evans and the command module, Harrison Schmitt and Eugene Cernan safely landed on the lunar surface. Apollo 17, as it turns out, represents the last time human beings have not only ventured to the Moon, but have left the confines of low-Earth Orbit.

Schmitt and Cerman clocked in more hours (22 hours, 3 minutes, 57 seconds) exploring the moon than any other previous mission, and traveled more than 22 miles. Apollo 17 consisted of three EVAs, and the Taurus-Littrow landing site provided nearly 244 pounds of moon rocks and other lunar samples to be analyzed upon returning home.  Eugene Cernan, the commander of Apollo 17, spent the last moments of the transcendent Apollo program alone on the Moon’s surface, and while he climbed the ladder and took one final look back, he expressed his thoughts: "…I’m on the surface; and, as I take man’s last step from the surface, back home for some time to come - but we believe not too long into the future - I’d like to just [say] what I believe history will record. That America’s challenge of today has forged man’s destiny of tomorrow. And, as we leave the Moon at Taurus-Littrow, we leave as we came and, God willing, as we shall return, with peace and hope for all mankind. "Godspeed the crew of Apollo 17." YAY! ACTUAL PONY RELATED HYPE FOR ME!

Sunset Shimmer is finally front and center where she belongs! And those outfits look jarring in the ugly promo art, but they always look better in the actual art style. So I won’t be able to properly judge till I see them, but this actually looks like it’ll turn out interesting!

Again, what sounds like a dumb concept looks like it’ll turn into an actual good idea with them! And the fandom will FINALLY have an actual canon Shadow Bolts team that do more than turn into whisps of smoke or make a good Nightmare Night costume.

Color me hyped~ This is what I’ve been waiting to see <3
