I find it so odd when a character doesn’t show interest in the opposite sex so people assume they’re gay but like they never showed interest in the same sex either…?

Anyway I want to share a song from my prospero playlist, beneath the mask by lyn (from the persona 5 ost) this song has lyrics directly referencing the masque of the red death by edgar allan poe which if you didn’t know is the story prospero comes from :D

In the masque of the red death the kingdom the prince prospero oversees it facing a plague and the rich avoid it by hiding away in their homes which the poor cannot afford prospero grows bored waiting for the plague to pass so he hosts a masquerade (“at poe’s masquerade”) at the masquerade a figure appears wearing all red and a mask of a corpse prospero is offended by what he assumes is a cruel joke so he unmasks the offender (“please don’t take off my mask”) only to find there is nothing underneath (“I have no face to show”) the figure was a manifestation of the red death itself and everyone in the masquerade had just been infected

I was playing persona 5 sitting in cafe Leblanc and listening to this song when I was like “poe’s masquerade??” “Masque of the red death???” “PROSPERO!??!?!” Just wanted to share ^-^

(oh also this is an oversimplification of the masque of the red death I skipped a lot of the details and didn’t get into the themes at all please go read it yourself or find a more detailed summary its so good)

Ngl there are a lot of webtoons I read and will probably never find again because I used to use webtoon signed out and deleted if off my phone at one point and my read history is just gone

One of the coolest things about reading webcomics is watching artstyles change and improve over time especially when you stick with one for long enough were it gets to truely gorgeous art and you go back to the early episodes and its like ??? My series??? I forgot you looked like this

I’m the grim reaper and nevermore have had artstyle changes as well but they haven’t been as significant to me

Oh also don’t think scarlets off the hook either when scarlet was trying to save brook after confronting judah and then hesitated to kill a sinner to keep him alive cause they might be her friend from her past life? May I also bring up this was after brook had let himself be rejudged so he could save scarlet from 9th level so if she had hesitated just a bit longer he wouldn’t have just been sent back to limbo he probably would have been sent to 8th or 9th level himself

Chase and scarlet have always been willing to end the world for eachother (tehe) but that energy is not matched towards brook. They will always be more important to eachother then brook could ever be to them no matter how important they are to him (which he mentions in ep 176 :3) and omg do I love well written aro representation TY GRAVE

Ngl I love chase but I have never felt more angry at a fictional character then when after brook got back from literal torture after going missing (which took them way too long to realize???) chase was drunk as hell and only worried about scarlet the scene where brook is standing off to the side while chase frets over her was actually so upsetting especially right after we see brook actually vulnerable for once its just ugh amazing chase never cared for brook as much as I think brook cared for both him and scarlet even if brook didn’t show it as obviously

I’m actually really shocked by how small the I’m the grim reaper fandom is especially when comparing it to nevermore (the only other webtoon fandom I’ve looked into) which has smaller numbers on webtoon but a waaaay larger fandom its odd

Probably not gonna post about nevermore as much not cause of the drama but mostly just cause theres not anything new coming out rn and my hyperfixation ended if I have a thought I will post it. I just wanted to join the “not posting about nevermore anymore” bandwagon /j

my favorite thing about the character designs in ITGR is that the only character with a boob window just. aggressively has no tits.

What I hate is when aros are like “wow aromantic character who is the most romance repulsed to have ever repulsed is being shipped cause ‘spectrum’ that kinda sucks :/“ and people act like they’ve just freaked out at the person doing the shipping. Its stupid fandom nonsense you *can* ship whoever you want no ones gonna cancel you over it, doesn’t mean they have to like it! Also bestie boo bear its really telling that you feel the need to put one of what 5-10 aromantic characters of all time in a relationship “because spectrum!!” No be so fr its because you wanted them in a relationship this isnt about what aromantic people can or cant do this is about what you want them to do this is your way to write around it and thats fine its fiction you do you but dont be surprised when aros are like “oh ew” and if your an aro about to say “but im aro and I do this” good for you! You’re not who I’m talking about. /lh /ily /p and don’t even get me started on people who act like not wanting a character to be in a relationship is infantilizing thanks for telling me you infantilize me and all other relationship adverse people! Ive been trying to read all the nevermore drama and oh boy some how this all revolves around shipping discourse ;-; how did we get here ngl “clique 1” seems like they just were like “do we have to ship prospero guys?” “Cant we have one romance repulsed aro without ‘aros are a spectrum’ being shoved in our faces?” And ive felt the same I’ve seen no actual evidence of them harassing anyone and more of red harassing teenagers its just so crazy with everything going on

I used to be an annabel lee hater.

BUT LISTEN I’VE REFORMED IVE REFORMED I’VE CHANGED

So originally I didnt like annabel lee that much which was mostly because I was a huge duke fan and I enjoyed his friendship with lenore more then lenores romantic relationship with annabel (aromantic :P) and the way she would essentially brush off all of lenores friends irked me then it turned into actual hate when she was part of the reason duke almost died

BuUuuUuUut

Then I became more of a prospero enjoyer then a duke one and lemme tell you annabels friendship with prospero completely redeemed her in my eyes

Anyway so don’t kill me I love her now shes so silly, I love posh besties, annabels just a girl how could you hate her?

I’ve realized that a lot of people who see my posts see them because they like nevermore and have never read I’m the grim reaper

So heres me as a fan of both trying to convince you to read it :3

1. Themes of death and already dead characters just like in nevermore (and main character has memory loss and is piecing back together who she was)

2. One of the main characters (brook) is aromantic and really good aro rep (later in the series but trust me its so worth it)

3. Apocalypse scenario idk nevermore people just give me the vibe of enjoying that

4. Religious trauma (calling out the monty enjoyers)

5. Something to read while you wait for the next season :D

6. Female main character

7. Really gorgeous art (examples at the end)

8. Really cool character designs (examples at the end)

9. Its also on haitus rn so you have time to catch up

10. Really really cool fight scenes and I don’t usually enjoy those

11. One of the important character rn is a snail

Sometimes I have nothing to add to the nevermore fandom accept for being sad I don’t look like prospero and I think that should be more acceptable tbh

Ashe is the the type of guy to give you the best life advice but he’ll like scream it at you

Brook is the type of guy to pretend he hates rabbits but then stick to the theme for no other reason (he didn’t need to buy a pink bunny phone case just saying)

Scarlet is the type of girl to accidentally hurt herself on something not learn her lesson and accidentally do it again right after

Azrael is the type of angel to just appear behind people and go “tehehehhehe”

Nyra is the type of angel to be like “why starve? I don’t get it” “why be ugly just don’t?” “Being sick seems so inconvenient why do mortals do that?” (Bonus points nyras the type to be like “I was mortal once too I remember what it’s like” and then say those things)

Chase is the type to meow unprovoked

Bernadette is the type of angel to find emo music and think of it as the highest mortal art form

Satan is the type of ??? to say “kills family cutely” out loud while committing heinous crimes
