do you know any simple and discreet ways to protect a doorway from harmful things coming through it?

Threshold Warding Powder:

At twilight (ideally on a Saturday,) grind together Salt, Yarrow, Eggshells, Fennel, and Red Brick Dust within a Cast Iron vessel.

When the mixture has been satisfyingly pulverized, step outside and sprinkle the powder along the threshold of the doorway, from right to left. Having done this, walk backwards through the doorway, making sure not to touch your feet to the threshold. Once inside, close the door and turn the lock three times (i.e. lock it, unlock it, lock it again, unlock it again, lock it once more, and unlock it once more.) Thereafter, repeat the ritual as needed (when the powder is in need of replacing.)

There are innumerable ways to ward a threshold, from hanging certain talismans above the door, to sowing certain plants near the entryway, but this particular method is quite inconspicuous and fairly straightforward. I will also try and post a more in-depth warding rite soon, which calls on Janus to secure the threshold, should you, or anyone else, want a slightly more involved method with similar elements to this one.

Warding

Psyching Warding Visualisations

Here’s a list of visualizations for psychic warding, which are designed to create energetic barriers or protections around your space, rather than just around your body. These visualizations help protect your home, belongings, or personal energy from unwanted influences.

These psychic warding visualizations are designed to protect your personal space, whether it’s your home, workplace, or other important areas. Use whichever resonates most with you to keep unwanted energies at bay and create a safe, energetically balanced environment.

Crystal Grid Ward

Visualize a grid of protective crystals (such as obsidian, black tourmaline, or amethyst) surrounding your home or space. Each crystal amplifies the protective energy of the grid, creating a barrier that blocks out negativity and harmful energies.

Flaming Circle Ward

Picture a circle of fire around your home or space. The flames burn brightly, purifying the energy around you and preventing any negative forces from entering the protected zone. The fire is a symbol of transformation and protection.

Thorny Hedge Ward

Visualize a thick, impenetrable hedge of thorns surrounding your home or area. Any negative energy or ill intent that tries to pass through is caught and neutralized by the thorns, keeping your space safe and protected.

Iron Wall

Imagine tall, solid iron walls surrounding your home or space. The iron is unbreakable, deflecting any psychic attacks or harmful energies. This ward creates an impenetrable fortress that protects everything within its boundaries.

Web of Light

Picture a glowing web of light woven around your space. The threads of the web are strong, catching and dissolving any negative energy or psychic attacks that try to enter. The light acts as a powerful ward against any harmful influences.

Cloaking Ward

Visualize a cloak of invisibility draping over your home or space. This cloak makes your space energetically invisible, hiding it from unwanted attention or psychic attack, while keeping it safe and protected.

Stone Circle Ward

Envision a protective stone circle around your home. Each stone is imbued with grounding and protective energy, creating a powerful ward that deflects negativity and keeps your space secure from outside influences.

Mirror Wall

Picture walls of mirrors surrounding your home or space. These mirrors reflect any negative energy or harmful intentions back to their source, ensuring that nothing harmful can penetrate your space.

Protective Vortex

Visualize a swirling vortex of protective energy spinning around your home or space. The vortex pulls in any negative energy and disperses it, preventing it from entering your protected zone while keeping the energy within clear and safe.

Elemental Ward

Imagine the four elements—earth, air, fire, and water—surrounding your home. Earth grounds and stabilizes, air sweeps away negativity, fire burns away harmful energy, and water purifies the space. Together, they create an elemental ward that protects your home on all fronts.

Guardian Spirits

Visualize protective spirits, animals, or deities standing guard at the four corners of your home. These guardians act as sentinels, warding off any negative energies or ill intentions from entering your space.

Sigil Barrier

Picture glowing protective sigils or runes inscribed around the boundaries of your home or space. Each sigil is charged with protective energy, forming a magical barrier that repels any harmful energy or psychic interference.

Black Obsidian Shield

Envision a large, black obsidian shield placed at the front and back entrances of your home. This shield absorbs and neutralizes any negative energy or psychic attacks that try to enter, acting as a powerful protective ward.

Lattice of Light

Imagine a lattice of pure light surrounding your home or space. This lattice is a fine but strong network of energy that blocks out all negativity while allowing positive energy to flow freely inside.

Sacred Flame Ward

Visualize sacred flames burning at each corner of your home. These flames purify the energy surrounding your space, creating a ward that keeps negativity and harmful influences at bay.

Crystal Dome

Picture a large, shimmering dome made of protective crystals (like quartz or selenite) covering your entire home or space. This dome radiates protective energy, warding off any negative influences or psychic attacks that might approach.

Wind Barrier

Envision a powerful wind circling around your home, sweeping away any negative energy or harmful intentions. The wind creates a protective ward, ensuring that only clear, positive energy can enter your space.

Moonlight Veil

Visualize a veil of silver moonlight covering your home or space. The moonlight creates a protective, calming energy that wards off any negativity or harmful energy, keeping your space peaceful and serene.

Rune of Protection

Picture a glowing rune of protection (such as the Algiz rune) at each entrance to your home or space. These runes act as wards, deflecting any negative energy or psychic attack and keeping your space secure.

Phoenix Fire Ring

Imagine a circle of phoenix fire surrounding your home or space. The flames of the phoenix burn away any negative energy, and their regenerative power ensures that your space remains protected and free from psychic harm.

Waterfall Ward

Visualize a waterfall of cleansing, protective energy pouring down around the boundaries of your home. The waterfall washes away any negativity and creates a continuous barrier of protection, keeping harmful energy out.

Candle Flame Ward

Picture a row of candle flames burning at the edges of your space. Each flame represents a point of protection, burning away negativity and creating a circle of light that wards off psychic attacks.

Barrier of Thorns

Visualize a thick barrier of thorny vines wrapping around your space. The thorns are sharp and protective, allowing no negative energy to pass through while keeping your home or area safe and secure.

Shield of Stars

Envision a protective shield made of starlight surrounding your space. The light from the stars is powerful and ancient, creating a ward that keeps out any harmful energies and protects your home from psychic intrusion.

Sunlight Wall

Picture a wall of radiant sunlight encircling your space. The sunlight dissolves any negative energy that comes near, creating a warm and protective barrier that keeps your space filled with positive, uplifting energy.

Easy magic for the new, busy, or spoonie witch

Morning routine magic:

1. If you are someone who uses makeup, use concealer to draw a sigil for protection, beauty, empowerment, of whatever else you may need on your skin and slowly smudge and cover it as you continue your routine. Focus on how the you who was successful in the spell would act and feel (ex. Imagining what you would look like to others or yourself if you were confident or invisible to prying eyes) while drawing and smudging and strategize ways to deal with hurdles.

2. While brushing your teeth repeat this or a similar mantra for kind words in your head “mint on my breath and love in my heart, help all my words come out kind from the start. Scrub out the grit and grind off the edge, may genuine words guide friends off a painful ledge”

3. Use color correspondences while picking out your outfits to channel desired energies throughout the day. (Hint: this is a good place to research the psychology of color and pair it with magical symbolism to achieve the desired result)

4. Use your morning shower to cleanse negativity and malicious intent from you. While showering rub soap or salt vigorously on your body (SAFELY) while imagining removing curses, hexes, and similar malicious intent from you. Water is often inherently cleansing, no harm in using it for that daily.

5. Use tying your shoes as an opportunity for knot magic. Throw any knot you need into your laces and imagine tying the intent to yourself as you go. Good for binding yourself to your own goals or else making a wearable binding spell targeted at others

On the fly magic tips:

1. Start practicing recognizing the symbolism that exists in urban environments to maximize your efficacy as a witch. Ex. Using glitter in a binding jar to reflect their negative energy back at them or googly eyes to literally ‘keep an eye’ on the target. This will help you improvise spells as needed

2. Practice grounding and raising energy as regularly as possible to ensure you are always ready for a situation or spell.

3. Keep simple spell ingredients or a satchel in your wallet/purse/car to bring favorable outcomes in all elements of your life

4. Draw a sigil on a drawing app and charge it while you ride the train/bus to wherever you need it. Then delete it when you arrive

Confusion and misdirection spell jar

Many people will do tarot readings on you, whether you know about them or not. So lets throw off some salty hoes and confuse the ever loving fuck out of them! This spell is similar to a decoy jar, and it is used to create confusion and misdirection in any sort of divination that is being done about you without your consent.

What you will need:

Jar or container of choice

Yarrow - Banishing  (properties : banishing, death, courage, psychic powers)

cloves: banishes hostility/negativity, used for protection.

black peppercorn: banishing negativity, protection from evil.

Paper with sigils correlating to your intention

Some sort of reflective object to bounce the reading off of you

Teeth for defense

Any sort of baneful ingredients you enjoy to give them a little punishment for trying to divine about you

Black salt(regular works fine) to protect you from prying eyes.

Process

Cleanse your jar with your preferred method

Fill it with the physical ingredients

Write on a piece of paper, or say this out loud whichever you prefer

“Curiosity will kill the cat and no amount of satisfaction can bring it back. Anyone who tries to divine me in hopes of an upper hand will get back only nonsense and a prick back. Your tarot will turn against you, your bones will break, your runes will never fall into place. Your scrying and divination will only show your own ugliness. May this spell confuse and blind those who wish to spy on me

Write your sigils on the back of this paper, activate it by dabbing oil onto it, i used yarrow oil

Seal your jar with black wax and string

I’ve Begun To Feel Under The Weather, So I Made This Soup Tonight. It’s One Of My Favorite Recipes
I’ve Begun To Feel Under The Weather, So I Made This Soup Tonight. It’s One Of My Favorite Recipes

I’ve begun to feel under the weather, so I made this soup tonight. It’s one of my favorite recipes from my blog!

Cold Season Soup–Vegetable Soup with White Beans, Cauliflower, and Quinoa:

2 heads cauliflower, washed and roughly chopped

1 large white or yellow onion

1 shallot (not totally necessary, but I like to pack in the alliums when I’m sick)

5 large carrots

6 celery stalks

1 head of garlic (Yes, head, not clove. Go big or go home if you really want to clear the sinuses.) peeled and pressed, grated, or chopped

1 large or 2 small zucchini squash

1 c. dry red quinoa

2-3 c. cooked white or cannellini beans

4 large kale leaves, washed and roughly chopped

large handful of fresh parsley, washed and roughly chopped

3 quarts vegetable or chicken broth

½ t. ground black pepper

1 T dried thyme

1 T dried oregano

3 bay leaves

pinch of cayenne pepper

salt to taste

4-6 T olive oil

———————————————–

Preheat oven to 400.

Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil. Spread chopped cauliflower onto the baking sheet, and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste, and toss to coat. Roast in preheated oven until slightly charred and soft all the way through, about 40-60 minutes. Turn/mix cauliflower halfway through baking to ensure even browning.

While cauliflower is roasting, chop onion, shallot, carrots and celery to desired size. Bring a large, heavy-bottomed soup pot to medium high heat, and add a few tablespoons of olive oil. Once olive oil is fully heated, add onions, carrots, and celery, and cook 10 minutes, stirring often to keep from over browning. Add shallot and pressed, grated, or chopped garlic. Cook another 10 minutes or until onions are translucent and very fragrant. Add broth and all spices. Bring to a simmer and then taste and adjust spices/salt as needed. Add dry quinoa and bring to a simmer again.

Finely dice zucchini and add to the pot. Let simmer about 30 minutes or until quinoa is cooked through and all vegetables are tender. Add roasted cauliflower, chopped kale, beans, and parsley. Bring to a simmer and taste. Adjust salt and spices as needed, and don’t be afraid to add more olive oil if it lacks richness!

Also, t.= teaspoon and T= tablespoon

What surprised me in Peru

I have been in Peru for almost 4 weeks now. I haven’t seen much yet as I a have been volunteering in the same town for 3 weeks but I really do like it so far! People are super chill, the food is delicious and the little town I’m staying is awesome for surfing :)  However, there were a few things that surprised me since I got here ^^ Here are a few examples:

Speed bumps: Ok I really love Peru, but can you guys stop with speed bumps??? Honestly there are everywhere, super high and wide and also SUPER annoying. No sign to warn us, no official size, just BOOM a speed bump (thank god I’m not driving!). Also drivers honk ALL the time, sometimes for no reason at all.

The variety of climates and landscapes: Peru is quite big so obviously there are quite a different climates here, but that much variety is incredible. On one side of the country you have the biggest rainforest on earth, and where I am right now it’s super dry, no vegetation, just sand and dust. And obviously there are also a lot of mountains with the Andes. It’s almost 30°C where I am now and only a few hours from here, it’s snowing, like how cool is that?

The desert: It’s always been my dream to see what the desert looks like, and now I’ve seen one. Thank you Peru! (I always thought I would see the desert in Africa, but nope, the earth is full of surprises^^)

People are very helpful: In France and the vast majority of countries I’ve visited, when you ask someone for a direction, they will explain you were it is with words and gestures. But here in Peru (and I noticed the same thing in Costa Rica, is that a Latin America thing??) people actually walk with you to your destination, even if it’s quite far. And like, THANK YOU!!!??? Why do people do that? At first I thought it was a weird thing of men following me, but no, people really do that because they’re kind, and honestly wow, you would never see that in Europe (at least not in France…). Also I’ve had a lot of people asking me if they could practice their English with me, here is seems like everyone wants to learn English and is actually making a lot of efforts to do so, which is pretty cool :) And a lot of Peruvians also helped me with my Spanish!

People share their beer: I don’t know how it’s done everywhere else, but in Europe (and North America I think?), when you get a bottle of beer, you drink it by yourself. Of course you can ask other people if they want some, but it’s not seen as rude to drink the whole bottle or can be yourself. Here in Peru you are supposed to share everything! Here the rule: don’t drink the whole bottle, pour some in your glass and pass the bottle.

Fireworks: people use fireworks every day, at any time. They don’t necessarily  need a special occasion to play with them. It’s kinda weird to hear fireworks for no reason all the time but we get used to it ^^

Purple corn: A few weeks ago, I had no idea purple corn actually existed. But now I love it, especially in Chicha Morada :)

An introduction.

Hi, world. I haven't been active on tumblr for a while so I'm a bit rough. I'm making a new account, where I'll actually post rather than only ever sharing others things.

A bit about me. I'm a bisexual married witch living a vanlife. I intend to be many more things, we'll see where life leads me. I do tarot readings and will talk more on that another time.

Feel free to dm me if you feel like it.
