Can we appreciate Agustín Madrigal? His daughter is just like "hey dad I just broke several rules, nearly died, stole a thing, now the house is falling apart and the entire town could be in danger and it might all be my fault", and he doesn't even get cross for a moment, he's instantly like "okay we can fix this we just have to hide this, let me help you hide this. nobody needs to know".

One of his daughters could be like "dad I killed a man" and he'd just be like "okay sweetie don't panic I'll help you hide the body".

OMG MY MOM DID THIS!!! When I was in kindergarten (or 1st grade?) the teacher caught that I have adhd, pulled my mom aside and told her I should get tested for it and that it might help me to get accommodations. Except when she said this she also made a comment about getting me medicated because her son and husband were both medicated and it really helps them. At the time my mom was a drug addict and addiction runs on BOTH sides of the family. She never told me I could have adhd, never took me to the doctors and YEARS LATER I only realized because I was looking up the medication I was put on when I was in a psych ward as a teen. I ask her if she ever suspected and she goes "oh, yeah it was obvious. Did you not know?".

NO. NO I DIDN'T KNOW.

And then refused to help me get medicated. And now I'm too poor for it either way💔 luv you mom 😘

Not telling your kid they have a learning disability, chronic illness, mental illness etc. so they can “feel normal” actually does the opposite. They will not feel normal if they do not have the context to understand that their normal will be different from that of their peers.
