In case you needed any more evidence that the trans rights activist movement is insane, maybe this failed ‘Interview with a TERF’ will do it for you. It tells young people that they never need to have difficult discussions that might make them uncomfortable – they can just complain of their feelings being hurt & have any further conversation censored. Note especially how a few commenters even said Olivia was expressing interesting, good talking points, but that simply didn’t matter because they didn’t want to hear or engage with it. They voted for this, it was clearly signposted in case they didn’t want to read it: some say they even felt bad for reading it & shouldn’t have, but rather than taking responsibility for their action of choosing to read it, they instead say it’s a reason it shouldn’t be up in the first place. Truly a toxic, close-minded movement.

lol i hate today’s era of absolutely zero nuance takes. a friend didn’t behave exactly as you’d wanted them to? cut them off. a guy didn’t text you back instantly bc he has his own life? he’s just giving you breadcrumbs. doing something makes you uncomfortable? don’t do it anymore. someone isn’t instantly available for you? disinterest. just absolutist statements that often don’t apply to the multilayer situations of everyday life. like. stop. literally just stop it

"Women don't own womanhood" oh then who tf does? The 30-something year old man who decided he wanted to be a woman and knows nothing about what it's like to grow up silenced, marginalized, discriminated, harassed, treated like a sexual object, only validated based on unrealistic and even deadly beauty standards? Who must now be applauded for saying "I feel female!" Who must now, despite looking and sounding and behaving like a man, even before properly transitioning, be allowed into women-exclusive spaces which were only created to protect women from predators?
