While I loved the Genesis mention, I was aware of the not-so-subtle double reference. He's pandering to every corner of fandom. His "Where's the bro-hug"-tweet made me see red, it was such an obvious bait.
I heard that robbie thom. actually knows his way pretty well around the destihell fandom, i think he chose those names BECAUSE of their double meaning to the shippers. This makes me so mad bc he's enabling them and even encouraging their obnoxious behavior. I think he's teasing them and it's really fucking annoying bc WE Have to deal with the aftermath, not him. I'm so mad right now and I can't even find it in me to pissed at the shippers. I am so upset about this. Sorry.
Never apologize darling for ranting. But the more I think about it and the more I see posts on the subject, the more I wonder just what was thompson up to. Was it just about Genesis, OR was it a nod to the minions.
But you are right, THEY think it is and until they get tired of their own bullshit, WE are going to listen to their cries of canon bullshit.
RIP Omar Sharif (1932-2015) - The Egyptian star of classic epics Lawrence of Arabia (1962) and Doctor Zhivago (1965) died today at age 83. His film debut was in Devil of the Sahara (1954) and from there it took 21 more movies until he rose to fame as Sherif Ali in Lawrence of Arabia, role that earned his first Golden Globe and his only Oscar nomination. The 2nd Globe came for the title role in Doctor Zhivago, and by that time he was already established a movie star appearing with Anthony Quinn and Gregory Peck in Behold a Pale Horse (1964), with Sophia Loren and Stephen Boyd in The Fall of the Roman Empire (1964), Ingrid Bergman and Shirley MacLaine in The Yellow Rolls-Royce (1965). Later on, he starred in Genghis Khan (1966), The Night of the Generals (1967), Funny Girl (1968), Mackenna’s Gold (1969), Juggernaut (1974), The Tamarind Seed (1974), Funny Lady (1975), Bloodline (1979), Inchon (1981), Green Ice (1981), Top Secret (1984), Beyond Justice (1992), 13th Warrior (1999), Monsieur Ibrahim (2003) - winning a Cesar for his performance, Hidalgo (2004) and most recently Rock the Casbah (2013). He was also an accomplished World-class bridge player, and of that he said “I’d rather be playing bridge than making a bad movie.”.
I read it somewhat differently. It could be about shipping, but the whole “own personal stories” made me think about Jared’s AKF campaign. He started a good thing, and now fans think dumping their emotional baggage on him during cons is perfectly reasonable.
Creation changed their policy about questions. This is on the screen at Vancon right now.
Once again, the mysterious blond appears. And now he and Jared are wearing matching outfits. Anybody know who this guy is?
ETA: Never mind, he’s a lawyer from Austin.
J2, friends and fans at Stubb’s BBQ in Austin for the Old Crow Medicine Show concert, June 17th 2016 (x.x.x.x)
Copedendent boys are codependent. Oh, and #seananddean, LOL
DID Y'ALL SEE THE NEW PICS? THEY ARE TOGETHER! UYFDF FFFDFF FHH Sorry for the freak out, but till now, I was holding out till confirmed. Id like to see the het stans explain this! :) J2 are their own fanfic!
Yes, EVERYONE! LET THE FREAK OUT BEGIN! I’m sure the het fans will find a way to wave this away by assuring everyone that the wives are really there and just don’t want to be seen or whatever, but that’s okay. We know what’s up. ;) –Admin N
Same. Absolutely gutted. Horrible, hollow feeling. I'll just take an extended break from tennis after this.
Could not believe what happened. I will need a lot of time to recover from this.
Can't wait to see them in the flesh in two weeks' time 😍 I've seen Roger before, but not the other four.
It’s official! Fedal fam is going to the finals!!!
Fedal: Okay Stef and Domi, let's pack for travel
Fedal: Sascha, if you don't behave, we won't bring you on holidays
*Sascha behaves*
Fedal: Okay we're all going to London for Xmas
In earlier days, screenwriters/editors often passed the Hays code by way of subtleties like these (colours, music, prop placement, what have you) to put their message across.
Even if some current TV writers like to operate by these standards (for artistic rather than narrative reasons), I don’t think the SPN writers are among them (mainly because I think it never occured to them, not because I think they’re above it).
Strawman argumentation like this is what made me side-eye the Johnlockers of the BBC Sherlock fandom. But even withouth grasping at straws like wallpaper they still have way more evidence to point to than the Destielers.
I missed it. How are the Desti-idiots attempting to validate their ship through cake?
LOL, somebody sent me the post yesterday……..
\o/ Found it. (x)
Yes, because Dean is NOW eating cake, that means that he is ready to confess his love for Cas. **rolls eyes**
There could very well be a spillover effect from last week, ratings-wise. I hope the hype reflects the reality, and that the brother relationship will be front and center and the angel (who will at least be represented with a phone call) not disturb the dynamic between the brothers, so much as to alter the impact of their relationship for the sake of pandering. But since this episode is written by Robbie Thompson, I expect any profound scene between the brothers to be cheapened and undermined by Destiel fan service. Hopefully I'm wrong.
hello-nicolexoxo-love replied to your post “One side we see Misha desperate for attention with his newest tweet…”
I am convinced it’s because of the brother articles and the brother episode tomorrow . He’s scrambling to stay relevant . Especially after his centric episode last week flopped , he doesn’t want the network honchos to ax him .
Yes, and don’t forget the Con over the weekend. So much J2 and not enough of him. AND if the ratings for tomorrow’s episode KILL, it will be even worse for him.
Upon the release of “Return of the King” in 2003, Viggo made a spontaneous and unannounced visit to Colosseum, the biggest movie theatre in Oslo, on the day of the premiere. He entered the stage, sang and read elvish poetry to the audience. Genuinely cool guy.
*HAPPY BIRTHDAY* Viggo Mortensen (10/20/1958)
“Life is short and the older you get, the more you feel it. Indeed, the shorter it is. People lose their capacity to walk, run, travel, think, and experience life. I realise how important it is to use the time I have.”
