uihhhm waiter. theres a challenging theme in my soup
It’s release day for Heavenly Tyrant, the sequel to Iron Widow, by Xiran Jay Zhao! I'm still proud of this one a few years later, if you haven’t yet it’s definitely worth finding a physical copy to see the full wraparound. I also have prints available in my print shop!
Many thanks again to AD Terri Nimmo for working with me on this one!
“is your sidestep design just s—” just sandra oh? yes. yes it is.
soooo, on a vacation trip a week ago, I stumbled over @xiranjayzhao's Iron Widow in a book shop in Copenhagen and devoured it last weekend. It was quite the fun read. (And I am not that inclined to mechs 😄 but the rage filled female power fantasy and the setting felt rather refreshing to me) And after finishing the book I had to get at least some art out of my system. As usual it didn't end up what I really intended it to be in my head initially, but also, as usual it has to suffice for now or I'll never post it.
sessi do you have a tag you put to read’s/ref in? or any book recs off the top of your head? I trust your judgement <3 kisses!
ohh I don’t sorry!! but I always recommend anything donna tartt, susan sontag’s on photography is a classic, the lonely city by olivia laing is one of my all time favorites, trick mirror by jia tolentino, if i survive you by jonathan escoffery, on freedom by timothy snyder, and currently I’m on the years by annie ernaux <3
you’ll have one joke post complaining abt old misogynistic scifi blow up and years later you’ll still get people reblogging it with tags like “why i don’t touch scifi.” hey. im at your door with a pile of scifi in my hands. i’ll lovingly read ursula k le guin or octavia butler to you aloud myself. let me in let me in please please please please hello
