So I finally got around to watching the new Ninjago spinoff trailer and I gotta admit it looks pretty cool, gives off major Samurai Jack vibes, the monsters look straight from an anime and the animation is very fluid. The problem is that after getting used to Kai being pretty much a comic relief character for the past 6 years or so, it's kinda hard for me to take him seriously in this kind of role, especially since Dragons Rising is supposed to follow after.

I mean, Dragons Rising Kai certainly doesn't act like someone who's faced unspeakable horrors and had to mature as a person and go against their own principles in order to survive. Dragons Rising Kai could barely handle these guys:

I don't know. The tone shift is just too big for me.

Samurai Jack had its funny moments too, but they were there to help the viewer breathe between the more serious episodes. This feels like a complete 180. I think it will work best if we think about them as completely different shows, like a dystopian Kai AU or something like that

My most controversial Ninjago theory to this day is that season 1 Lloyd was wearing a black sweatshirt and a hooded cape, not a hoodie. I mean look at that collar with the green stitches. That's not what a hoodie collar looks like. And how do you attach a cape to a hoodie? I feel like most people forget the cape.

Sure, he'll look like a walking Halloween Day of the Departed decoration, but let's not forget where he came from. I bet Darkley's had a bunch of those just laying around

I might be late to the party, but I haven't seen this short Lego apparently released over 2 years ago.

I like how this implies they kept living like a big happy family till the end of their lives.

Lloyd looks like he's having heart issues and even Zane's kinda rusty.

Nya and Pythor are oddly cute tho

Jay's still a pro at video games I see and Lloyd looks so happy to be there. Maybe he's not going to outlive his friends after all.

I know this most likely isn't cannon, but it's so cute I want to remember it.

We didn't get many Lloyd and Nya moments this season, but in the few seconds of screentime they shared the writers made sure to remind us that these two are absolute besties.

Rethinking Phineas and Ferb episodes in any human Perry AU is kinda wild because sometimes you get funny little moments like when Perry drew the map of Hawaii using the sand in his litter box.

Human Perry could just say: "Yo, fam, let's bounce to Hawaii!" Ooooor he could spread wet toilet paper in the shape of Hawaii all over the bathroom floor like a crazy little maniac. The funny thing is both are equally in character because yeah, he's that extra.

Someone made a post once saying that Chase and his many versions could play all the main characters in Disney's Beauty and the Beast and I couldn't agree more.

Twilight is the main character, crazy powerful, a leader and motivational speaker, has OCD and may or may not outlive her friends, but Fluttershy looks better in green, has anxiety, anger issues, is kind, a mediator, and sort of in love with a former villain who's also a shape shifter

German isn't my main language but when I was a kid I used to watch lots of cartoons in German. I think my parents wanted me to learn the language. It was actually the first language in which I ever watched Ninjago, but I haven't done that in over a decade.

Luckily I still understand about 75% of it so I can watch the new episodes early, but that's not what I wanted to say. They kept the same voices, man! 😭 It's been ten years and they sound the same. When I heard Kai and Nya speak I felt like sobbing. Oh, how I missed them and I didn't even know. This is what they sounded like when I first met and fell in love with these characters. I've been following their adventures in English all those years, but hearing them in German again felt like meeting an old friend.

Also, German Sora, Arin and Wyldfyre are perfect and incredibly spot on.

One thing that frustrated me since I was 8 is that Candace's head looks way more like a P than Phineas' head.

It still pisses me off sometimes for some reason ngl

Don't know if this has been said yet, but these two give such Eep and Guy vibes it's like looking in a mirror.

No no no. Quickly, Perry or Candace, one of you do the Ryan pose! He was my favorite. Don't leave my boy out 😭

One of my favorite headcanons is that in the 5 or so years Lloyd lived alone at the Monastery waiting for the others to return, wondering if they were even still alive, he took turns sleeping in each of their rooms to feel closer to them. Maybe he could still feel their scent in the bedding or he fell asleep cuddling Mr Cuddlywomp.

But he would be super careful to keep everything exactly how they left it, including the soda cans and pizza boxes littering the floor, because he couldn't bring himself to throw away anything that belonged to them.

You know, if Ninjago keeps going on and on like this, the 30th version of the Destiny's Bounty Lego releases in 2050 better be flying for real

Every Lloyd ship is so unhinged it's crazy when you think about it.

I mean, there's this psycho princess who's secretly the leader of a biker gang and also a cult who wants to resurrect his departed father and conquer the city.

A girl who can turn into a giant three-tailed wolf and is on a revenge quest to assassinate the evil emperor who turned her tribe to ice.

The prince of an underwater civilization who had to battle his evil octopus brother for the throne.

An anthropomorphic tiger man who's also the leader of a cult trying to resurrect an ancient evil after his home land had been compromised.

And then there's frickin Brad at the flower shop

Like you can't make this stuff up 😭

Would anyone be interested in a Ninjago fic featuring this trio before Morro makes an official return in Dragons Rising?

After Nya's sacrifice to save Ninjago, Lloyd quits being a ninja. That is until Misako discovers a legend of an ancient temple that used to power up the previous Water and Wind Masters.

Now Lloyd embarks on a journey to bring Nya back. There's just one problem. They're going to need the help of a certain spiteful ghost who isn't any happier about this than they are.

Hear me out. Lloyd as a girl dad.

Look, I know they are trying to compensate for the lack of female representation in Master of Spinjitzu, but you gotta appreciate Dragons Rising giving us so many new cool, diverse female characters.
