CRUTCHIE HEADCANONS

1. Helps kloppman clean and tidy on a Sunday whilst all the other boys chill out

2. Is the WORST at reading bad situations, like somebody could fully be about to throttle him and he's just there smiling and yapping to them

3. His parents owned a business, and they kicked him out when they realised that because of his leg, he was of no real use to them which is why he fights needing help so hard

5. Has buck rabbit teeth that are really visible when he smiles

6. Sleep-cuddles things. When he's asleep, he grabs onto anyone or anything around him

7. If you startle him his voice goes so high pitched its like a dog whistle

8. Ownes a pair of really fluffy bed socks and wears them religiously

9. Likes to sit by the central park pond and watch the ducks

10. He often faces prejudice from the other newsies because he's so effortlessly close with Jack

NEWSIES HEADCANONS (javid edition)

1. Sometimes davey will mock jacks accent, like he'll randomly switch to a THICK New York accent if the sentence Jack said also had a heavy accent.

2. When Davey tries to teach Jack English and other school subjects, Jack has no motivation, Davey said that every time he got one right, they can kiss. Jack started studying harder than ever

3. They have very stereotypical sleepovers, the ones where they stay up giggling all night and start giggling even harder when someone tells them to shut up and go to sleep.

4. Jack has a STARING problem, like every time Davey looks over Jacks eyes are glued to him.

5. People third wheel their dates all the time, wether it's Mush or Crutchie, people just don't seem to take the hint.

6. Everyone teases Davey for being "the walking mouth" and talking too much, but Jack just let's him waffle and never tells him to stop.

7. Dark humour versus regular humour. Jack will randomly say something really dark and laugh whilst Davey stares at him in horror.

8. On the way to Daveys House he will pick every stray flower that he sees to give it to him.

9. They take it in turns to pull each other into a nearby alley way during selling to kiss/cuddle for a few mins.

10. When Davey stays at the lodging house and he shares a bed with Jack, because the beds are tiny, Davey has to pretty much sleep on top of Jack. Once they decided to swap the roles and Davey got squished.

a headcannon of my own is that they have that vibe of the happy gay couple and the disaster bisexual that is basically their permanent third wheel.

Lmaoo I love this trio so much, it seems so chaotic

Hotshot runs over to spot to back him in a fight just to get there and realise it's just him play fighting with race. It happens far too often

I feel like race and hotshot would create a ridiculous lie and try to convince spot that it's real. He believed it once, and he will never live it down.

Spot just blabs to hotshot about race 24/7 and he's just there like spot sybau

Everytime hotshot goes up to spots room, he knocks and opens it with his eyes closed...just in case.

When spot sees Race hanging out one to one with a hotshot, he gets weirdly jealous of the both of them

They use hotshot to settle debates for them (he usually picks spots side because he's scared of him)

- No matter how evil and terrifying spot may portray himself to be, Jack will always see him as his baby brother, who is just misunderstood

- Jack taught spot how to swim one day when they were younger, and spot will be forever grateful as now he can swim with his brooklyn newsies

- Jack always ruffles spots hair and spot goes ballistic everytime

- Jack would never admit it, but he's incredibly jealous of spots power and loyalty

- when spot and jack drink together, Jack will act all though and drink more because "he's older", but has a much lower tolerance than Spot and will get hammered and spot will have to take care of him

- once Jack got a haircut and spot laughed so hard that he cried, so Jack wore his hat everyday until it grew back

- everybody bullies spot for his height, but Jack is the WORST for it.

- modern au: I can imagine them both being football captains for the manhattan team and the brooklyn team.

- Jack underestimates spots strength ALL THE TIME, like he expects him to be weak and gets battered when he decides to piss him off

Dutchy/ specs headcanons 👅

1. Once he moved out, dutchy dyed his hair brown because everybody kept asking if he was albino 😭

2. Specs glasses constantly have tape around the middle because every time he gets them fixed, somebody accidentally breaks them just hours after

3. Specs and dutchy love all things fantasy (like DND), so they created their own board and characters out of paper and a pencil. They finish selling as quickly as they can so they can get back and play again.

4. Dutchy frickin loves ice cream, so he made friends with the local ice cream shop owner and they give him free ice cream from time to time

5. Specs is really bad at personal space, like he could practically be sat on top of you and not notice that he's too close.

6. Dutchy is seen as quiet and unproblematic, so people say contravential stuff/ ahut talk infront of him and don't think twice about it, dutchy will then feed back to Specs and everybody will wonder how the secret got out.

7. Dutchy suffers from constant voice cracks, they are the bane of his existence

8. Specs flirts with the nuns because he's used to flirting with people to get something. He only ever gets a scolding, though, and he gets bullied because of it.

Bad mood

Summary: Skittery has been in a bad mood for the last few weeks, and bumlets and swifty help him cheer up.

Tws: mild language, depression talk?

Winter time was always the worst time of year for skittery,the cold weather never failed to dampen his already glum mood, and the frosty wind made him dread getting up in the morning. This year was no different, skittery already found it hard to put up a smiley, happy front the rest of the year, but in winter, it felt damn near impossible. This was one of the worst depressive episodes he had ever had. He had not smiled or laughed in what felt like weeks. Words hardly ever left his lips anymore, and his fellow newsies were starting to get worried, gravely worried,in fact.

After another long,dreary day midway through December, skittery was sat in his bottom bunk, knees pulled to his chest, staring blankly ahead as if consumed in irrepressible thoughts. He was so ingulfed that he didn't even realise that Bumlets had sat himself down next to him.

"Hey, skitts.." Bumlets said quietly. However, skittery seemed to be blocking out noise that wasn't coming from his brain,so there was no answer. He places a gentle hand on his shoulder and skittery jumped back, startled.

"Jesus christ, are yous tryna kill me?" Bumlets chucked at this.

"No, I was just tryna make sure youse alright." Skittery frowned, and Bumlets felt a sudden urge of guilt in his chest.

"Ise fine why wouldn't Ise be." Skittery snapped a little too loudly, making the heads of a few closer newsies turn.

"It's just that youse been in such a bad mood -"

"Ise has NOT been in a bad mood"

The dramatic irony of this sentence made bumlets snicker uncontrollably.

"What is youse laughing at?" Skittery yelled through gritted teeth, but he didn't look angry, just exhausted.

"Ise sorry, ise sorry-" Bumlets tried to apologise but he has still giggling too hard to get his words out right.

"Piss off." Skittery said angrily before turning and facing his back towards his laughing friend.

"Naww come on skitts I didn't mean it!" Bulets tried to protest but earned no reaction from his friend who was now ignoring him.

"Skitts...skitts...skittery...skitterrrrryyyy." He wined trying to stop his silent treatment.

A strong pang of guilt washed over him as he looked at the back of his friend who was more exhausted than anything else, all he wanted was to see skittery back to his happy self who laughed and played with the other newsies like the kid he was.

He stared at skitterys messy curls for a few moments, completely torn about what to do.

He placed a reassuring hand in the middle of Skitterys back, and all of the anger and tension in his body language seemed to just melt away. It was as if Bumlets could see the frustration draining out of him, like wringing out a sponge. Neither boys said anything, just enjoying the physical contact.

After a while, skittery slowly turned around so that he was facing Bumlets again, letting his hand drop from his back. He could see tears starting to dwell in Skitterys eyes. He just looked so drained, as if any personality behind those eye bags had been stolen.

"Ise- ise sorry..." skittery trailed off. He just sounded broken.

"Hey, it's okay, come here." Bumlets said in a gentle voice opening his arms up.

Skittery looked around, unsure for a second, then cooperated and climbed into his grasp. Bumlets wrapped his arms around his torso, and Skittery felt warm for the first time in weeks. He let the warmness wash over his body and nuzzle in. He felt like a real person again.

"Ise just don't knows what's wrong with me." Skitterys muffled voice came from Bumlets shoulder.

"Nothin' is wrong with youse." A voice stated from behind the two boys, they both swivled to see Swifty stood over them, looking down with big, sympathetic eyes. He then sat on the other side of Skittery and put an arm around his shoulders, to which he dissolved into him with his cheek pressed against Swiftys shoulder.

They sat there like that, all tangled and grateful for what felt like hours. Skittery felt like himself again for the first time in what felt like forever. The coldness outside was kept at bay in this moment, and all of the negative thoughts consuming him seemed to be locked away with Bumlets and Swifty holing the key. He had needed this for weeks and never knew that it was as simple as to ask his closest newsies to remind him that he could feel things other than emptiness.

"Thank youse." Skittery offered to the boys, Swifty kissed the top on his head.

"Now..." Bumlets chucked cupping Skitterys face in his hands, "Are youse in a betta mood?"

"Mhm"

"Youse don't look it, give us a smile." Bumlets prompted.

Skittery suddenly became very embarrassed about the situation and couldn't muster up the confidence to flash a smile.

"no." He glared, his cheeks burning red.

At that, Swifty began to tickle up and down Skitterys sides, forcing the widest, most face splitting smile to appear.

"Now thats much betta!" Bumlets smirked.

"Sthahahahap!" Skittery giggled and squirmed, laughing for the first time in days.

"Now are youse in a good mood?" Swifty teased.

Skittery was too over-come with laughter to answer, so he just frantically nodded his head as he slumped against Swiftys chest. He stopped his attack. Both boys stared down at skittery with the most love-sick eyes anyone had ever seen, grins etched across their faces with a beautifully soft gaze

"Glad ta hear it."

With that, Bumlets pulled the covers over them as they all cuddled into each other, Skittery in the middle, hoping to keep the unforgiving nature of winter outside.

NEWSIES HEADCANONS (Crutchie edition))

1. He is the most freckled person ever, like he is just coated in freckles.

2. He's a naturally quiet person until he laughs, when he does its full throttle and SO loud. He can't control it

3. His laugh is WAY funnier than the joke, he sounds like a duck 😭

4. His main selling point is by the old people's home, old people just seem to love him and find him adorable so he makes the most profit there

5. He REFUSES to swear, and on the very rare occasion he does he will check around him like its illegal or something

6. His arm he holds the Crutch in is really strong due to holding himself up, once the lodging house was having arm wrestling competitions and everyone was so shocked by his strength

7. Before he chose the name crutchie he was called "bambi" because he looks like a little deer

8. Once, when he was absaloutly exhausted, he let Jack carry him to his bed. They're not allowed to talk about it. EVER.

9. Due to his Crutch he looks shorter than he actually is, so once in a while he leans against something and stands fully upright to remind everyone that he's tall

10. He admires races unpredictability and how exiting his life sounds. Every day, he waits up for race to get back so he can hear about all the crazy shit he did that day
