New acquisition
hello my lovelies! long time no post! x
here is my midsummer/summer solstice/litha/etc spread! i recommend for crystal use incorporating rose quartz, citrine, moonstone, carnelian, garnet, tigers eye, or amber into ur practices on this beautiful day. of course, any crystals u can get your hands on will be beneficial if thats what you choose to do, but a little bit of rose quartz did no one any harm ;)
for candles/incense, i keep my black candles for the later period of the year when im screaming around my house n pretending to not b terrified of LIFE :) right now, i bring in red (love n passion, baby!), oranges (bring in those new beginnings which are always appearing in front of u this time of yr!), and yellows (communication n GOOD HEALTH SO SAY GOODBYE TO UR ALLERGIES - jks, sadly). white is always good - really just the classic warm colours that can be used for either chakra channeling, meditation, spell work, etc. in the incense-sphere, lavender and chamomile are GREAT for this time of year. I also rec dragons blood for any sexy charms/spells/etc u might be doing.
i hope this has helped and that u enjoy using this spread! pls lmk (if u want) if u do use it omfg i LOVE hearing from u guys and learning what worked for u/what didn’t and the results u got!
happy midsummer/summer solstice/litha to all u magical folk out there - have a fab time of yrrrrr! x
Hello fellow Tarot readers! Here are my three favorite two card spreads that I use most often in my day to day practice. If I had to choose, I’d say that I like the Release/Receive spread the most; I often use this as an alternative to energy of the day draws. Of course, there are hundreds of two-card spreads out there if none of these resonate with you!
What are some of your favorite two-card spreads?
When Venus meets Mars in the soul, nothing stays innocent. This is where attraction becomes a hunt, where courtship is a ritual of blood, and where love doesn’t just want to be held—it wants to be devoured. These people don’t fall for others; they pursue, summon, and seduce like it’s second nature. Their affection is always dressed in tension. Even when they laugh, you feel the undercurrent of something primal, something that’s watching you—and planning what to do with you.
Their magnetism? It doesn’t ask for consent. It just walks into the room and owns it.
Love, to Venus-Mars people, is about mutual surrender disguised as dominance. The game of push and pull is sacred to them. Venus wants to be adored, touched, praised, while Mars wants to grab, own, and conquer. Together, they script a dance where sex becomes language, and intimacy becomes a battlefield.
If they’re not mentally fucking you while talking about mundane things, they’re not interested. And if you’re not craving them, needing them, dreaming about them—you’re already dead to them.
They don’t do casual. Even their one-night stands come with a spiritual hangover. Venus-Mars people ignite in ways that make the other person feel reborn and ruined at the same time. Their sex isn’t just about pleasure—it’s about possession. They want to hear you scream. They want to see your soul in your eyes. They want you wrecked, crying, and asking for more—and you will.
Because once you’ve had someone like this, everyone else tastes like dust.
The arguments are erotic. The tension is addictive. They love hard because they fight hard. And somewhere in the middle of that verbal war, they’re already unzipping your soul. These lovers don’t back down. They test you. They want to know if you’ll stand your ground. If you do, they’ll fall deeper. If you don’t? They’ll punish you with distance, with indifference—and with the knowledge that you were almost enough.
You’ll know them by their gaze. The kind that lingers a little too long. The kind that makes you feel exposed, like they can see through every lie you tell yourself. Their presence is a slow burn—they touch you without touching you, set your skin on fire just by existing too close. And once they want you? You’ll never be the same.
They don’t want peace. Not really. They want the passion that comes after the explosion. They want to fuck you on the floor after a fight, fingers digging into skin like claws, mouths pressed so hard it bruises. They want scars and bruises and proof that this isn’t some sanitized fantasy. Love, for them, has to be real. And real means ugly, messy, earth-shattering.
Venus-Mars people are artists of desire. They don’t just love you—they sculpt you. Mold you. Change you. And you’ll let them. Because their love feels like purpose. Like worship. Like you were made for them. Their beauty is never soft—it’s dangerous, carnal, and intoxicating. They’re the flame you know will burn you—and you walk into it anyway.
You don’t recover from a Venus-Mars person. You just learn how to live with the fact that you were once completely owned. And if they loved you—if they really loved you—you will feel it every time someone else tries to touch you. You’ll remember the look in their eyes. The way they gripped your waist. The way they whispered things that made your entire nervous system collapse.
And you’ll ache.
Because you know you’ll never have that again.

Honestly I may or may not actually make this a series, but this is an underappreciated divination method so I wanted to go over some different ways to do it today.
Throwing bones
My personal method (and the one I’ve seen most often) is to ask a question, throw the bones, and divine from the pattern. This usually involves an animist approach—the bones themselves have spirits, and so are able to have meanings and speak with the reader.
There are two ways I’ve seen this often done. One is that each bone has a meaning. The closeness of each bones, which are covering which, and which are separate from the rest all contribute to the overall interpretation. The other way is to throw a random bundle of bones and divine purely from the pattern itself.
Divination Tools
Another method is to make divination tools with bones. If one chooses to draw symbols on a collection of bones, this could be done to make a set of runes, or dice for astragalomancy. One could also make a bone pendant for pendulum readings, or perhaps a large vertebrae as a planchette for a Ouija board.
Pyro-osteomancy
This divination method is done by burning bones and divining from the remains. According to Kris Hirst, who’s quoted in the article “Bone Divination” on Learn Religions, “Oracle bones were used to practice of a form of divination, fortune-telling, known as pyro-osteomancy. Pyro-osteomancy is when seers tell the future based on the cracks in an animal bone or turtle shell either in their natural state or after having been burned. The cracks were then used to determine the future. The earliest pyro-osteomancy in China included the bones of sheep, deer, cattle, and pigs, in addition to turtle plastrons (shells).“

Here are some of the more bohemian things that take up space in my Book of Shadows:
Warded Cover Page: every Book of Shadows I’ve ever owned has begun with a cover page that is warded out the ass. The style and technique of these wards has grown and evolved with my craft, but they always involved an invisibility spell tied to my name and bound with a blood taglock. The purpose is to make the book go unnoticed by everyone but me (and anyone who I allowed to read it)
The Headless Rite: a goetic invocation of your higher self/heavenly energies
Channeled Deity Artwork: Similar to spirit writing; I find that I create my best artwork when I’ve invoked a higher power, and I have currently created devotional portraits of Hekate, Lucifer, Demeter, Persephone, and several other deities by invoking the deity in question and then sketching whatever comes to me
Channeled Spirit Writing: Attuning to the energy of a spirit, ancestor, or guide and writing whatever comes to me
Magickal practices and techniques of various cultures in my heritage
Pieces of advice I’ve learned from various witches throughout the years
Manifestation Page: Similar to a mood board or an intention board; fill the page with words and pictures of your goals and desires
Deity Sigils: I do find that some deities prefer to be evoked/invoked without the use of sigils, but for those that do have their own specific sigil, I record them here
Journals of instances where I have witnessed manifestation first-hand
Encounters I have had with spirits or other supernatural phenomena
Personal associations for herbs, crystals, colors, etc., and not just the ones you can find on Google
Spell Ideas that I find particularly intricate, beautiful, or devilishly enticing, but don’t quite have use for or the time to execute yet
Lists of names of my ancestors and of historical witches
Recurring symbols that appear repeatedly in dreams, tarot readings, or in the physical world
Omens that appear to me, such as wild animals or strange weather
Record of spells that I’ve performed: I long ago gave up on the pretty idea of recording every single act of witchcraft I performed in great length, detailing the position of the sun and moon, the exact procedure, and any and all outcomes. Instead, I just try to keep a bullet list of every spell I perform with a very brief description. It shouldn’t take me longer than 60 seconds to write max; very useful to reference, especially if a spell goes wrong and you don’t notice its negative impact until much later
Brightest blessings, and best of luck 🕉
