A very accurate and timely twitter thread. 👌
On the 10 year anniversary of Twilight, director Catherine Hardwicke reflects back on her hit film. With an opening weekend of just over $69 million, the film went on to earn $192 million in the U.S. alone, at the time a record breaking sum for a film directed by a woman.Â
Hardwicke’s description of Summit’s reaction to the financial success of the film:
When I went in I saw that there were massive bouquets and balloons and bottles of wine, and crazy gifts sent to them by all the distributors around the world or whoever, all their friends. So I actually had it in my mind, wow, this is a pretty unprecedented success. I had heard these rumors that when a director does something like this they give them a car, they give them a two-picture deal or something like that. They give them an office and ask them what they want to do after this.
And then I got a mini cupcake that day. I was like oh, OK, cool—coming in here, I’m sort of working for free, doing this online stuff, and that was what I was offered: a mini cupcake.
today, thanks to all the chaos and horror, I learnt that the United States has an official ceremonial mace
If I had to define Taylor Swift with one word it would be grateful💖
Taylor has been consistently genuinely grateful from the start of her career. She takes pictures with every single dancer - not a group pic - because she's grateful. She does free meet and greets before and after every concert, and before every album (secret sessions) because she's grateful. She has special guests because she's grateful. She interacts with swifties here because she's grateful. She did swiftmas because she's grateful. She is so fucking grateful all the time.
People gave Taylor a lot of crap for the whole surprise face and for her kindness saying it was fake but have you seen homegirl in movies? She's not a good actress. Dont attack me, it's the truth. And what really warms my heart about this AMAs is that Taylor thought after the KimYe thing she wouldn't be able to do music ever again. SHE THOUGHT SHE WOULDNT DO MUSIC AGAIN. Do you think she even thought about being artist of the decade? Hell no. I think every award she got after that has been a genuine surprise to her and I LOVE THAT.
She deserves it so much💚
The fact that the only ppl in the MCU that did and still do their own stunts are Brie Larson and Tom Holland should be enough for sexists and boomers to fuck off but noooooooo

Get it yet?
Just saying but the negative aspects of capitalism is literally what is holding the world back from being sustainable. The only reason we don’t have safe drinking water, shelter, food, medicine, education, and clean energy for every person on this earth is because it wouldn’t be profitable for the 0.1% of the world’s population whose entire income is based solely around limiting those resources for lower class and impoverished people.
Y'all wanna preach about the importance of bi/pan visibility but none of you mean it.
In 2018 two girls on a bachelor show fell in love with each other and quit the show. They were later seen at a Pride event and one of the girls was holding a bi pride flag but everybody still calls her a lesbian
Janelle Monáe came out as bi and everybody celebrated. Cool. She later specified as Pansexual and nobody listened. People still refer to her a bi and ignore fans who say that pansexual is more accurate for her. People even "jokingly" call her song "PYNK" a lesbian anthem.
Recently a "lesbian" wedding photoshoot went viral on Twitter and Tumblr. Both brides were bisexual.
Nobody cares about what bi men have to say unless it's to shit on pansexuals. Nobody even notices nonbinary bi/pansexuals unless it's to validate them as wlw/mlm.
The community revived terms like mlm, wlw and sapphic to be inclusive but it's obvious that nobody actually uses them in practice. It's absolutely exhausting to say this constantly and nobody wants to admit they're guilty of doing this shit.
YOOOO
