They Actually Make Physical Media For A Much Larger Percentage Of Movies Than They Ever Did In The Past.

They actually make physical media for a much larger percentage of movies than they ever did in the past. Often with a lot more care than any small release was treated in the early dvd days. Its just if you only watch streaming stuff or the big new recent box office hits you won't see that. It is so ridiculously easy to get physical media for movies that even 5 years ago you couldn't even find. Like yes Netflix is a stingy bastard but so many things are available on disc WITH special features than ever before

if you're a goy that thinks Jewish culture and history and religion is interesting but don't want to intrude upon a closed religion, the answer is academia!! study Jewish academia oh my goodness the sheer volume of freely accessible literature written by Jews about Jews is genuinely staggering. please

Is transitioning even worth it? i see so many posts every day talking about how being a trans woman in todays society is utter hell. I kind of feel like a girl but I could live without it, yknow? i don't need it in order to be happy. It would be nice but it would be so much effort just to be pelted with a barrage of misery every day from vitriolic bigots.

idk im just feeling kinda hopeless abt the whole thing :(

it is more worth it than you can possibly imagine

would you think of doing the list of names like a war memorial? or perhaps something more low-key or inventive? idk what comes to mind is something symbolizing impermanence and the sheer mass of loss, something like a section of floor covered in confetti, each piece covered in names. idk i feel like this idea is lacking a certain amount of respect, but i think there is something there.

If you could curate an art gallery, what would be your top pieces you'd like to show?

I would do a show on the impact of the aids crisis on American art

If You Could Curate An Art Gallery, What Would Be Your Top Pieces You'd Like To Show?

So the portions of the aids quilt, portrait of ross in LA, and Keith Harings unfinished paintings are must haves

The Steven Universe fandom might be “cringe” and “bad” but imagine a fandom so bad that a bunch of fandom members had ran a scheme to say “if you pay us money, your blorbo will know you’re valid” and the fandom permanently split over a 95 paragraph callout post of these people.

A while back my pharmacist saw my deadname on my profile and accidentially called it out, he corrected and deleted my deadname from the system so only my preferred name shows up now. There was a crowd of people behind me, so as he hands over the pills he apologized, in equal tone and volume as when he called my deadname and lied saying it's been a long day and he didn't mean to call out -his own- name. I quietly told him it was fine and he didn't need to do that for my sake.

His response: "No, it's my name now."

I went to the pharmacist yesterday, his nametag is my deadname. He informed me he's immigrating and in the process he's changed his first name to my deadname to have an English sounding name. That's why he's now able to get a reprint of his nametag to be my deadname. And repeated, with the intense seriousness of someone who is going to die on this hill: "It's mine now. Not yours. I'm taking." His tone indicated that decision is final.

Bro literally deadnamed me once, and has committed to flat out stealing my deadname. It's his now. Legally. Officially. I over heard his co-workers call him by the name.
