Idea!

Future AU where Marcy becomes a sleep deprived, morally grey mad scientist, and while experimenting with one of her "projects" (machines with world destroying capabilities) brings season 2 Sasha, Anne and Marcy to the future. Past!Marcy is equal parts exited and horrified about what she becomes later on, Sasha and Anne meet their future selves. Fun times. Also Darcys still their, just kinda stuck in Marcy's head.

Not that weird of a question imo. Shipping is like THE thing in a lot of fandoms fjjsbfjsjfaj

Anyways, I wouldn’t consider myself much of a shipper. I do think sashannarcy is cute and it’s fun to see content for it here and there, but I RARELY outright seek or create anything romance-centric. And I’m completely fine with them not being canon. Probably better that way, if anything.

The thing that gets annoying about shipping tho is all the drama XD (and ofc like… the creepy kinda ships hhhhh)

While I don’t care much for evil Marcy, but if you were to go that route, I’d bring up how Anne has been living Marcy’s dream with no strings attached. Like seriously, she’s the one who gets to be a hero, who gets cool powers, she’s the one with the found family(ngl the double standard always bothers me)

For not being a big fan of evil Marcy, you REALLY fed my brain worms with this LMAO. I NEED to include this, but I kinda missed the main chance since I already wrote the only actual/direct Anne vs Darcy fight… HOWEVER!!! I’ll probably try to make Marcy realize at some point that she was extremely jealous, just unconsciously covering it up with anger and excuses until she calmed down or whatever. I mean this still works imo since Marcy wouldn’t want to focus on ways that she could possibly be beneath Anne, so she would just talk about the ways that Anne failed her.

Lobe-finned mermaids

They can have scales, arms, gills, lungs, and even sorta-hair (barbels or cirri)!!!

It makes sense, to me, but they’d probably experience HELLA uncanny vally, since they must have killed off many species that were related to them. That’s what makes them sometimes choose violence against humans. They see arms and forward facing eyes and say “wtf is that. Kill it”.

It makes more sense for most mermaids to be fat, considering the difference in temperature. Even in tropical waters you'd make the most of the temperature with lots of muscle for speed and movement.

In cooler waters though, keeping warm (see: seals, literally any whale) needs a lot of insulation (fat/blubber). Also when youre larger you have more neutral buoyancy. If you're a deeper water mermaid having a slower metabolism can increase age (see: greenland sharks), and you need fat storage because of sparse food sources.
