The Story of Mohamed Hussein Ismail and His Family: A Journey of Struggle and Hope ποΈπποΈ
I am Mohammad Hussein Ismail, a 23-year-old Palestinian from Gaza, reaching out to you during these unimaginably difficult times. My life and that of my family have been profoundly changed by the war, and today I write to you, hoping for your support and assistance.
My family consists of five members: my mother Raja (51 years old), my father Hussein (58 years old), my sister Iman (18 years old), and my younger sister Noor (13 years old). We used to live a simple life filled with hope and ambition before the war turned our lives upside down.
On a grim night at the onset of the war, our neighborhood was relentlessly bombed. The blasts shook our home, compelling us to flee into the darkness, navigating through sporadic explosions, desperately seeking safety. By morning, we reached southern Gaza, seeking refuge in Rafah, our hearts heavy with sorrow for what we had lost. ποΈπποΈ
In this brutal war, my father was injured, severing tendons in his finger due to relentless bombardment. Due to malnutrition and rampant diseases, my sister Iman contracted hepatitis, exacerbating our suffering. We endured the cold winter within the confines of a tent, and the scorching summer heat as well, trapped inside due to harsh weather conditions. Unable to stay together as a family, we were forced to scatter and flee once again from Rafah due to intense shelling, seeking refuge in Deir al-Balah within the Gaza Strip, where our struggles continued in search of safety and hope for survival.ποΈπποΈ
Now displaced, we endure an immensely challenging life, filled with hardships. We struggle tirelessly to prepare food over open fires, to fetch water, and even find a place to sleep. We've lost the basic comforts of life. Due to inadequate shelter, severe infections have ravaged my body, and I've grown exhausted in the quest for treatment amidst the scarcity of medicine.ποΈπποΈ
Our plight is desperate, and we implore your support to rebuild our shattered lives and secure a future for our family. Your kindness and generosity can bring about a profound change. Your contributions will provide us with the means to find safe shelter, access essential medical care, and obtain the basic necessities of life we so desperately need.ποΈπποΈ
I had an old account that was deleted, and I am pleading for your help in sharing the new one. Our only hope is that you can help my family survive this brutal war. πππΉ
Please, we plead for your help during this critical time. Every donation, regardless of its size, brings us closer to safety, stability, and the opportunity to rebuild our shattered lives.ππΉ

1. βPart 2??β
Unlike TikTok, writing 5,000 words for a fic does not happen in 6 seconds or more. Weekly updates are from a writer who spoils you and is passionate about their story. Donβt kill the passion by demanding for more and not appreciate whatβs already given.
2. The DC Conundrum
Many writers on this platform hail back from the ff.net days where dark content is a norm, not like TikTok where even death has to be censored or you could get flagged.
Despite that, writers are doing you a service by sharing fic warnings despite how it may take away from a plot twist or a big reveal. However, thereβs a fine line between sharing warnings and downright spoiling our own work. Heed the warnings, donβt be a dick. If you donβt like it, donβt read it. Learn how to filter your own content, too, while you're at it.
3. The Wild Algorithm
Unlike TikTok, Tumblrβs FYP is not in your face and you have a choice to not view it. Content often gets buried a few days after itβs posted without reblogs or comments to keep it alive.
4. Passive Content Consumption
Ties back with point #1. If youβre only sitting back and reading works without supporting the writers, they canβt spend 6 seconds to conjure up a fic. Writing takes time, editing, proofreading. Tumblr is a book club, not a delivery service.
5. De(constructive) Criticism
If an opinion isnβt asked for, donβt give it. Many writers choose this craft for their own enjoyment and to share a thought or story about a beloved character to those who love them, too. If an opinion is asked? Be kind when you share it across to them. No one likes their hard work to be shat on by someone who doesnβt understand the time and effort it took to create this piece.
6. Are You My Content Machine?
Again, back to point #1. Writers have busy lives. There are days when we want to scream into the void about our favourite characters. We want to share our thoughts about them or sometimes, we just want to talk about what happened during lunch break. Demanding and expecting that a writer post content without giving a shit about the soul behind the screen? Dehumanizing.
Donβt ruin the experience for those of us who are still here. Do your part to make fandom better for everyone.
We appreciate my Man. The myth. The Legend. The one who keeps it all together....
