My last post reminded me of a time I tried to make an idv themed otome game with some oomfs (it never went anywhere). It was specifically for the hunters but we had an honorary Norton route bc this is nortons world LOLL

This was in ~2019 so we had a quarter of the current roster, and no manor lore💀 I think we went with the idea that all the hunters are ghosts but for the sake of kissing them they could have temporary physical forms if they choose to. The heroine was a maid who's kinda lousy at her job but the hunters were sick of being trapped in this dusty musty roach motel so they hire her cos she's all that they can find 😔

Anyway. I was in charge of Wu's route and the premise was like -> only one of them can be out of their umbrella at a time -> they realized they could finally talk to each other again by leaving messages with her -> she was lowkey thirdwheeling whatever they had going on and got fed up so she started tampering with their messages -> accidentally made them both fall in love with her

she couldn’t bear the feeling of losing you and having to start over every time. having to turn the both of you into strangers again. her loving you with all her heart, and you not even knowing who she is.

even shiho, who’s not the closest to her sister, notices her sudden mood drop, yet, uncertain of what could be troubling her, she decides not to ask.

whenever shizuku sees you for the ‘first time’ again, she wishes she could tell you what to do to avoid your death, but she couldn’t — that would only make things worse, and she’s very well aware of that.

as much as it pains her, she can only do small things to try to change the future, for now.

“I promise you, one day, it’ll be over. And when that day comes, I can finally spend my so-desired time with you.”

what was honami doing wrong?

she did everything, everything, to avoid that terrible fate. but it couldn’t be helped — it would still happen, no matter how much she tried.

she gave her all, she devoted herself to saving you. she was trying her best, her all, to keep you safe and alive. apparently, it wasn’t good enough. it was never good enough. every time, you’d end up dying in her arms. over and over.

whenever she sees you for the ‘first time’, she feels her heart ache. knowing that she’ll have to go through everything again and again, only for a false image of hope that maybe, maybe she could save you.

she never had the chance to tell you the words she was dying to say. even in your last moments, she couldn’t bring herself to say it. ever since the first tragedy, you’ve never heard the words ‘I love you’ from her ever again.

“Once I can finally let my guard down, then I’ll allow myself to soften at your touch. I love you. Evsen if I’m not ready to say it, I hope you know that.”

in the beginning, he thought himself to be really lucky, to have the opportunity of being with you one more time. but as more time passed, he started to believe this was not a blessing — but instead a curse.

waking up, knowing that he’d try his all to save you but being aware that it all would go to waste, was extremely exhausting.

whenever he saw you for the ‘first time’, he could feel himself relaxing at the thought of being together with you again. having your hands run through his hair, having you laugh at his cringey pick-up lines... he yearned for that, even if he knew he couldn’t have it, at least not at that time.

he watched you die over and over. eventually, death was not a new concept to him. but every time, even knowing it wasn’t the first time and it wouldn’t be the last, watching your lifeless body always gave him a feeling of despair.s

you always called him a genius, then, why? why couldn’t he come up with a brilliant plan, as you’d say, to save you? why couldn’t he save the one person who stood by him at all times?

“I want to be with you so bad, but still, I’m not able to keep you here long enough. What am I doing wrong, my love?”

this wasn’t fair. this wasn’t fair at all. why did they have to take you — ena’s favorite person?

she’d give 110% of her to keep you, even knowing that she couldn’t be with you, knowing that you’d die again, she still chased after your life as if it’d be the last thing she’ll ever do.

sometimes, she couldn’t help but being irritated. if only she didn’t love you, this wouldn’t be happening to her. she was very well-aware that this was one selfish thought, but she thought about it every now and then. despite being mad, she could never say that she regretted loving you.

whenever she saw you for the ‘first time’, she knew it was important to keep her distance, for your safety. despite that, she glanced at you quite often, fighting the urge to go after you.

having to be emotionally distant from you frustrated her. she watched you talk to a lot of people throughout the day, knowing that she wouldn’t be one of them. after all, you were still her significant other, even if you didn’t know it.

“Why won’t you simply stay?! Damn it... I want you to be safe, be alive, be mine! And I’ll make sure it happens, even if it takes a hundred... no, a thousand times.”

the only thing toya wished for was for it to be over.

it was extremely tiring. he’d never do something that pains him, but he couldn’t give up on you just yet. even if he has to go through the same feeling of emptiness every time, he’s willing to do it, if it means saving you.

not only that, but even his bandmates notice his sudden lack of motivation. every time, akito confronted him about that, but he never answered. he couldn’t tell him the truth, he’d never believe it. it was awful to avoid his best friend, but he couldn’t help it, rescuing you was his top priority.

whenever he saw you for the ‘first time’, you merely looking at him already made his heart flutter, as if it were before the tragedy. he loved to see you so... lively. yet, he knew he shouldn’t let his guard down, as he was already aware of what would happen.

he tried his best to keep you away from danger, directly or indirectly, but none of his actions seemed to help. in the end, he always held your lifeless body, never having the chance to confess his undying love for you once more.

“I’ll do everything for things to go back as they used to be. Even if it takes thousands of times, I won’t give up, not until I make sure you’re safe.”

Bright, neon lights flashed over the crowd, your girlfriend jumping onstage to the beat. You hadn't seen a solo event of hers in forever, but the bass thrumming in your chest, and the cutting sound of her voice made it feel like you never really left.

The crowd went wild, bobbing up and down with her to the beat, singing along. Even though it was a smaller venue, the atmosphere was unmatched. No one cared about the humidity, nor the cramped space, it was just them, and the music.

You were, thankfully, not in the mob of people, instead opting for a safer spot backstage. It had a great view of AN, but you weren’t getting squashed between the eventgoers. And, as a bonus, was perfect for being the first person to hug her after a performance.

Speaking of, here she came! Eyes glittering, and lips stretched wide, she bounded offstage, hooking her arms around your neck.

Almost instinctively, you wrapped your arms around her waist, spinning her around in a tight circle. You could feel energy resonating throughout her body, and the heat it brought to the surface of her sticky-slick skin.

As soon as you let go of her, she let out a cheerful laugh, letting herself bask in the afterglow of her performance. It had only been a moment after letting her go, when she pulled you closer again, eyes sparkling with glee.

"Kiss me!"

"What?!"

"You heard what I said, kiss me!"

You didn't know who kissed who, but now your lips were together, in a fast-paced, but chaste kiss. Heartbeat thumping loudly in your ears, you could feel the same from her.

If you'd looked closer, you could tell her ears were becoming increasingly redder, but alas, the butterflies batting at your ribcage was enough to distract you from your surroundings. Her lips tasted of cherry chapstick, and peppermint gum, her warmth contrasting starkly against the cold kiss.

She pulled away, adrenaline finally calming down a little, embarrassment seeping onto her cheeks. "O-okay, let's go! Mizuki gets off work soon, so we should hurry!"

“Yes.” He turned his cheek, a tint in his face betraying his gruff demeanour. “But…”

“But?” You repeated, looking at him intently.

He grumbled something incoherent, going redder in the face, a shade off from the topping on those raspberry cheesecakes he liked so much.

“Hm? What was that?” You asked curiously. “You’re mumbling again.”

“I said…” he took a breath. “You… kissed An on the cheek this morning. And…”

You laughed, grinning at him. “Is that what it is? You’re jealous of An?”

“I—I’m not—”

“Why didn’t you just say so?” You cut him off. “Here, I’ll do you one better!”

Cupping his jaw, you leaned forward, his skin impossibly hot under your touch. His breathing hitched as your eyes flicked up to his for a moment, before you pressed your lips to his.

His muscles tensed under his skin, relaxing again when you stroked his cheek with your thumb. He melted against you, leaning into the kiss eagerly.

You were the first to pull back, watching him jump back with a heavy blush after you.

“I—I’m gonna go, uh, to meet Toya, and the others.” He stumbled over his words uncharacteristically, walking off.

“See you tomorrow!” You laughed, waving goodbye at him.

“Uh, yeah.” He waved back. “Bye!”

"KOHANE..." You dragged out your girlfriend's name sweetly.

You'd gone to the rooftop to eat, and since Minori was out with a cold, the two of you got to be alone together; a school-date! Totally adorable, but not so fancy that she gets nervous.

"Hmm?" She hummed, swallowing the bite of the sesame ball she was eating. "Yes?"

Leaning in closer, you batted your eyes at her. "Can I have a bite?"

“Oh…” she paused, looking down guiltily at her container; empty. “I’m sorry, that was the last one… do you want something else?“ She quickly pushed her bento onto your lap, shifting her weight onto her other arm to support her while she did so.

When she looked up, she seemed to notice just how close she was, as did you. Your breathing hitched for a moment when you looked at her eyes, before she moved away promptly. “…no, no I’m fine, no need to give me your lunch! Heh, you’re so thoughtful, Kohane!”

"I–I'm just trying to be a good girl–girlfriend!" She stumbled on the word, still getting used to it. "Plus, after you paid on our last date, it feels wrong to just..."

You smiled, leaning closer again to catch her gaze. "It feels wrong? I guess if it's feels wrong, I can take a taste like this, right?"

Leaning forward, you laid a gentle hand on her leg. Surprisingly, she didn't budge, in fact, albeit looking a little embarrassed, she seemed to gravitate towards you as well.

The kiss was short lived and chaste, but it still managed to leave your heart pounding. Her lips tasted like the strawberry chapstick she always kept on her, and the sesame she had just eaten. It was sweet, and soft, just like her.

She was the first to pull away, covering her face with both hands, reddening significantly.

"There, now..." you paused, regaining composure. "Now I got a taste, so you can stop feeling bad about the date I paid for, right?"

Rubbing at your boyfriend's back, you frowned in slight at his current condition. TOYA laid in your lap, face buried in your sweater. He wasn't crying, but he wasn't speaking either, claiming he just wanted to sit with you for a moment.

He'd come to your home earlier, didn't utter a word upon entry, but rather opted to wrap his arms around you at the door. It was only when you tapped him to get him to explain, when he finally spoke.

"I'm sorry. I just wanted to see you."

You watched him turn around in your lap, laying on his back to look skyward. His eyes seemed clouded over, before they landed on your curious face.

"Are you going to tell me what's wrong? I don't want to pressure you, but I want to know if you're okay." You finally spoke, breaking the silence.

He took a breath, before humming a yes. "I'm alright. I was just a little upset, and the arcade was closed... so I came to the next best place."

Though he looked the same as always, he had that troubled look on his face from whenever something went wrong. He was gorgeous, as always, but in a somber, delicate way, that made you want to kiss him better.

He welcomed the gentle touch of your lips, first on his forehead, down to his nose, and one feather-light, lingering kiss to his lips. It was bittersweet for a first kiss, but oddly fitting.

When you pulled away, he cracked a small smile. "What was that for?"

"For that smile of yours, of course." You matched his grin.
