This is my final si 10 for my ap art portfolio. Basically just mosques from around the world. I think for what was a last minute work that took 3 hours to do it came out pretty well.
Made this recent piece for an art contest. Went outside my comfort zone and used color mainly through copic markers and pastel color pencils. While not perfect I’m decently happy about how this came out. The idea was to replicate the feel and look of the old Vegas strip while still being modern-ish.
Been about a month since I last posted but did work on this major art piece for my AP art portfolio think it came out pretty well really proud of the inking and detail. Would probably wanna add less detail next time though 😭 on top is the the final ink piece and the bottom is original thumbnail sketch and then the finished pencil drawing (before inking).

“he wished being alive always felt this good”
I'm on holiday and staying in Riga for a few days and wanted to bring attention to the beautiful faces around the city!
I think that in the advent of modernization, people have left behind the idea of everyday art , art that enriches communal spaces and adds character to places. I've been thinking about it a lot, how this kind of lush art isn't as common as it might have been before, and how it's so noticeable now when it is there because we often are absent of it.
I have my qualms about certain churches past actions and beliefs, but I must admit they had some beautiful architecture
In Hindu cultures stepwells and river sangams (conflences) became important sites of pilgrimage in Hinduism because of their ability to bring people from all walks of life and their novel ideas together This stepped pond commemorates the contribution of water and the contribution of confluence. Modeled after the historicel architectural masterpieces of Surya Kund at Modhera in Gujarat and Chand Baori at Abheneri in Rajasthan
this Brahma Kund preserves the traditional architecture and the holy waters from 108 rivers and lakes in India, including the four most revered Indian rivers. Each of the rivers Signifies a distinct cultural stream that contributes to the thematic fulfillment of this Swaminarayan Akshardham Complex. The Brahma Kund, a stepped pond with sacred waters, was named by His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj, the Inspirer of this complex.
