I TAKE A BREAK FROM THIS GOD FORESAKEN HELLSITE FOR A FEW DAYS AND WE HAVE A WHOLE FUCKING BUG RACE AND I MISSED IT!!!! WHAT THE HELL GUYS!!!!
Caterpillars are juvenile butterflies and they are awfully hungry. These little guys are going to one day turn into Monarch Butterflies. Until then, they'll be in the SNC's caterpillar home before being released into our butterfly gardens.
It’s easier for the caterpillar to die than to grow wings. You cannot choose ease when splendor demands difficulty.
the pillah :>
what do they see?
Munching on the honeysuckle!! I believe this is a snowberry clearwing
Cozy and also sleepy in the blanket fort
ENG || Second experiment of textures and materials. I don't like this caterpillar as much as the little frog, perhaps the leaves with so much watercolor textures bother me next to the caterpillar since it doesn’t stand out as much as I’d like to, perhaps I’ve mixed to many colors or I’m simply not used to paint with so many dark colors although it could also be that I look at it with bad eyes, with those glasses of perfectionism on... What do you think?
Drab Prominent (Misogada unicolor) larvae, taken August 21, 2023, in Georgia, US
Circles!! Curling up into a ball is this caterpillar's main defense mechanism, which doesn't really work well on humans... I find their patterns quite pretty, and they have lots of individual variation! They get their common (and scientific) name from their adult form, which is an almost patternless light beige.
(loosely) based on something that happened at school today (that's all the context you get)
I have to say that one of my favourite things about the Tumblr app is the way I can drag the pen icon and create a magical caterpillar that I can drag across the screen.
