of all lost characters penny might be the one I'm most willing to lie to myself about. sometimes I'll see posts talking about how her writing is very flat/she's just not interesting and I experience about 4 seconds of blind rage before I remember that the writers themselves simply were not interested in her as her own character beyond Love Interest and it actually is not invalid to find her a very flat/one-note character. but I will continue to make shit up about her anyways

⚓️ [what character or characters do you feel were the emotional anchor of the show and why?]
hmmm i'm not really sure what this means... for me maybe it was sayid because when he was on screen i got emotional (because i love him) and when he was off screen i got emotional (because i missed him) but i also feel like so many of them were so good at making me emotional!?? like i really enjoyed how sawyer had the most obvious character growth so it was so easy to root for him! and i liked how hugo and claire were just consistently nice people, i think that kind of consistency is overlooked but also so necessary when you're working with more... grey characters (they also had grey areas of course but they were still pretty inoffensive). so i guess a lot of characters were anchoring in their own way?

i lovee tropical fruit especially mangos and i love pork so i would probably be happy for a while with that until i went thru cheese withdrawals. i love cheese 💭💭 i could not do the fish though i don't like fish it makes me feel sick 💔💔 feel like those are kind of my only three options.

hmmm well i probably wouldn't have been on the plane without something to write/draw with so i probably would draw a lot 🖍️ i also love board games i've never played backgammon but i bet it's fun :) my favorite hobby is to imagine scenarios in my mind... easily entertaining for hours on end... i would beg my fellow strandees to play mafia/werewolf with mee

honestly lost is SO good with ambient/environmental music, which is a shame, because it's totally wasted on me as someone who doesn't really notice it when i'm watching! with that in mind i love in s4 ep14 i believe? jack is listening to gouge away by pixies and it genuinely made me like his character more, lol. i'd like to think he'd like fugazi too. i ♡ alternative 80's music so much.

ohh i'm not sure what constitutes as "unhinged" in a ship hehe... i've definitely been turned onto desmond/kelvin wonderful toxic yaoi representation... my fave non canon ship is sayid/desmond/penny, not really unhinged just rare... sayid/ben is sooo good definitely my favorite i love horrible codependency. shipping is like my favorite part of all media ever i'm a #lover but i generally like nice and kind and sweet more than evil and fucked up... well both is good.

1981 i want to know what it's like to be alive during the release of talking heads once in a lifetime. second choice is 2000 BCE i think i'd make a good shepherd.
Desmond and Penny could have and probably would have been the best couple on the show if the writers had bothered to give Penny a personality, a backstory, and a life besides her love interest.
when i learned that naveen andrews is like number #1 certified milf connoisseur it immediately made sense to me why sayid interacts with locke like that

I will never forgive Lost for taking Shannon away from me after all of her character development and new found happiness. 💔
it's so strange to me that naveen andrews was completely absent from that variety article on Lost's racism in 2023. not a single mention of him or sayid whatsoever (except for an odd comment from harold) especially considering he did come out and express his "general dislike" of the show.... especially considering sayid is subjected to some of the most obvious racism from the show over the course of it's run.... he was completely absent from the getting lost documentary.... he gets a pretty rough treatment from the "fans" who seem to consider him a bad actor because he drops his accent on occasion.... even though he was the only non-white supporting Lost actor to be nominated for an emmy and golden globe..... and they blame and talk shit about him because he proposed the romance between shannon and sayid (and we all know how the average misogynist Lost fan feels about shannon)..... and he wasn't happy when maggie grace was written out of the show.... the decision kind of fucked over sayid's entire arc....... his role and screen time was heavily reduced after it..... and sayid's six season presence in the show was reduced to fans complaining that sayid should have been with nadia in the finale – not shannon..... when that doesn't make any sense for the thematic premise of the show... and naveen is a hardcore #shayid fan – obviously.... idk but I feel like there's a lot more to come out about what went on behind the scenes, with both the non-white and female cast and crew..... it's interesting that Lost has had such a massive comeback as soon as that variety article came out. very interesting.

I think it’s so interesting that Sayid still prays while on the island especially after everything that happens to him while there. Does he do it just because he always has, or does he really think god is listening? Does he think keeping his grip on his faith tight will keep more people from dying? Does he do it because there is nothing else he feels like he has control over? What is he thinking about while he prays? Does he think about Shannon? Is he praying for mercy or for their survival? Is there a difference?
Favourite long-running LOST joke between me and nami is the idea that charlie once found a gay mag in sawyers stash and is now (homophobically) convinced sawyers gay because of it + his effeminate habits and is now trying to convince everyone else

i dont understand why yall so surprised ab desmond/kelvin i mean. des spend 3 years with a man in a locked space. and its not just some random man. KELVIN is crazy he taught sayid how to torture people. he did very unpleasant things and its not only about him being manipulation genius (hes just a girlboss ok) and a spy. THREE years. thats probably more days than des was with penny lmao. anywayyy. they had routine. inside jokes probably. lunch together. they slept in that ridiculous double bed UGHJJ. many ankward moments happened between them too bc of how different they are . i mean. kelvin was able to give desmond ORDERS???? and desmond did obey. and they were both out of duty. what the fuck mannn . some kind of roleplay u never expect to see. what ELSE happened in that god forsaken bunker. and i tell what happened they fucked nasty. amen brother
