Does anyone else feel like TikTok is constantly changing things and making problems?
Like TikTok waters down things so badly. I’ve seen the zoophile and mental illness finger pointed so much on that app, and the terms aren’t even being used correctly! No, that person isn’t a zoo cause they use fantasy toys. No, that therian isn’t a clinical lycanthrope. No, BPD isn’t just mood swings and being abusive.
I know you can still find things like this on other platforms but it feels like TikTok is just overrun by it?
There is so much more I could say about this, but there is not enough room. Remember to check with reality rather than believing conspiracy theories promoted, supported, and funded by white nationalist hate groups.
Missouri is proposing 20% of the nation’s anti-trans legislation this session. Gender-affirming care for young folks is on the edge of being criminalized (so much love to trans friends in states where that has already happened).
Please keep up with the anti-trans legislation in your state and combat it. There are lives at stake.
Transphobes do not touch this post.
Image ID: a 10-image cartoon comic featuring Joey, a boy with short hair.
Image 1: Joey, upset, gesticulates towards an open laptop. Text reads: The reality of St. Louis trans kids. Last week, a former (non-medical) employee of Washington University’s Pediatric Transgender Center was featured in a viral article about how the clinic was “rushing” kids into medical care and “mutilating” us. Every single thing she said was a lie, but the media loves it. Footnote reads: I wouldn’t give any more attention to this, but it is immediately endangering the lives of trans people. Missouri has launched a state investigation and is actively attempting to criminalize gender-affirming care based on conspiracy theories.
Image 2: Joey points to a map of the United States where Missouri is singled out, and a map of Missouri where St. Louis is indicated with a star. The text reads: The Transgender Center, located in St. Louis, Missouri, has been the target of hateful attacks from the far-right state legislature for years. It is part of Washington University Hospital, a branch of a prestigious private university.
Image 3: A younger Joey injects his T shot in his leg while someone takes a photo. Text reads: I can tell you that everything in the article is false because I received care at the Transgender Center beginning at 16 years old. My medical transition has brought me nothing but joy. What a gift it is to be trans!
Image 4: A younger Joey sits on a couch and stims with a tangle fidget toy. Text reads: No one is “rushed”. I sat on many waitlists, had to have 6 months of specialized gender therapy and a diagnosis of gender dysphoria before even being referred to the Center, and I was denied as “not ready enough” by an endocrinologist the first time I finally got an appointment. Footnote reads: If you’re curious about what it looks like to be a trans kid, I did another piece on that! Check out tinyurl.com/transkidscomictumblr.
Image 5: A colorful map of the United States shows how many states have a Negative Gender Identity Policy Tally and how many states have criminalized gender affirming care. Joey holds a credit card. Text reads: St. Louis’ Pediatric Transgender Center is the only one in the region, meaning the waitlists are extremely long. Plus, no one in the only industrialized country without free healthcare is getting medical care for fun. Many American trans folks have to fundraise for our care.
Image 6: Joey, distressed, sits on a couch while talking on the phone. The person on the other end says: “That’s me!” Text reads: This former employee spoke about specific cases, and patients have been able to identify themselves. She shared our private medical info and called us horrifying.
Image 7: This is split into two panels. In the first, Joey holds up a box of condoms and a packet of birth control pills. Texts reads: She especially hated trans men such as myself, saying that trans ideology was destroying “girls”. She lamented about hormones making us “sterile”, which is a complete lie. We trans mascs have to actively prevent pregnancy. In panel two stands a doctor. Text reads: Every time I had an appointment at the Center, doctors reminded me: Remember: testosterone is not a contraceptive! Footnote reads: The wonderful Erin Reed wrote a breakdown debunking all the lies in the article. See tinyurl.com/erinreedmissouri.
Image 8: Joey, masked, sits at a circular table with his brother, an unmasked boy with fluffy short hair. Joey’s brother is showing him his phone. Text reads: Major newspapers continue to platform these complete lies because they bring in engagement and money. The Washington Post tracked down my little brother’s personal cell phone number to try to get in contact with our mom – the president of an organization supporting trans kids in Missouri. Freaky, right?
Image 9: Joey, looking disgusted, leans against a door frame while talking on a cell phone. Text reads: But no one wants to talk with me, the adult who medically transitioned at this clinic as a minor and has not “desisted” in six years. The Washington Post reporter, who didn’t know anything about trans people, talked with me for 20 minutes and used a sentence of mine in an article about “both sides of the debate”. She didn’t mention that this former employee is being legally represented by a recognized anti-LGBT hate group, nor that all of her claims are unsupported by reality or science.
Image 10: Joey looks angry and gesticulates. Beside the drawing are two photos of Joey, one of him happy in front of a trans flag, and the other of him drawing up testosterone to take his first T shot. Text reads: There is no debate. There are trans people, and there are people who want us dead. There is truth and there are conspiracy theories. Where is my viral article in a major paper?

Things in six of crows people forget I will add more
Kaz brekker isn't from kerterdam! He's isn't! He's birht place is in the countryside!
This not to be annoying but really annoys me becuse like all the characters in six of crows have different brith places none two are the same inej is suli, jesper is zemini, mathias is frejian (no clue if that's spelt right) nina from ravka, wylan is from kerterdam and kaz is from countryside.
Inej has a form of touch aversion similar to kazs but on a different reason why.
Inej in the book doesn't have a brother
In the books jesper is original Inlove with kaz at the beginning he is
Both kaz and jesper are original farm boys!
Inej isn't kazs first crush! Imgoen is (I think that's how to spell her name)
I can't keep having the same conversations about love languages, mbti, iq, bmi, "brain fully formed at 25" and shit over and over again...
“You choose your toppings that fit you. “
..No, you don’t. That’s not how this works.
More specifically, while different autistic people can have different autistic traits, that doesn’t mean that you get to choose what traits you have. This metaphor implies that autism is a choice, that autism is just a bunch of autistic traits mixed together (in reality, like any neurotype, it is much more complicated than that), and that showing a couple of signs of autism makes you autistic (it doesn’t).
Saying that you get to choose which traits of autism you have is incredibly harmful to the autism community. That’s the same sort of argument used by ABA therapists to try to force people out of stimming. It’s also the sort of thing that makes neurotypicals think autistic people are just special snowflakes who are faking for attention.
In addition, many of the items in this sundae bar have little or nothing to do with autism, and in fact the sundae bar includes many unrelated neurotypes. While some of these may be correlated with autism, they are still different neurological differences. For instance, autism, ADHD, bipolar disorder, depression, and dyslexia are entirely separate things, and some of them are conflated often enough that this kind of misinformation is very counterproductive.
Fundamentally, you don’t get to choose in what ways you are autistic. Yes, different people will have different “toppings,” but that doesn’t make it a choice. I didn’t choose to be hypersensitive to loud noises any more than I chose to be good at math, or I chose to have green eyes.
tl;dr: Autism is not a sundae bar, and autistic people don’t choose which signs of autism we exhibit.
We need to stop seeing autism as some sort of one-dimensional sliding scale. Autism is not a thermometer. It’s not a rating that is “more” or “less”. High-functioning and Low-functioning do not exist in the real world.
Autism is a collection of symptoms and behaviours. Like a sundae bar. You choose your toppings that fit you.
Are you a bipolar extravert that loves socialising, is good at math and bad at remembering time? That’s ONE way to be autistic!
Are you a socially anxious autistic who has meltdowns when your clothes don’t feel right but a genius knowledge of music theory and is great at scheduling? That’s another way to be autistic!
Notice how both of those examples has strengths and weaknesses? Is one more “employable” or “high-functioning” than the other?
There is no one-size-fits-all category or rating for autism.

I mentioned this before, but I truly believe that maintaining credibility is important. I think spreading misinformation, exaggerations, and falsehoods does not help any cause. Sometimes it is very tempting to just hit that reblog button and share that terrible thing people…

Reblogging because this is too funny! 🤣🤣
evil etymologists be like:
helicopter comes from the greek words ήλιος (hēlios) and κόπτω (copto), meaning "sun" and "cut" respectively.
this is because the blades of the helicopter chop sunlight.
this is why it's also called a chopper.
I was getting suspicions but now I'm very 100% sure that most of this website's userbase hates Palestinians and not passively. I'm now fully 100% comprehending that the vast majority of this website's userbase passes by any mention of Palestinians and seethes to their core and the only reason little of it came out was because you thought there might be social repercussions for attacking Palestinians in our time of need. All it took was an easily debunkable false accusation to get people to attack people undergoing genocide as well as a genocide survivor, and now he's been stopped from doing the work he has spent months doing. I will not allow this experience to go undocumented or forgotten. Those who partook in the harassment know what they've done and the unspeakable repurcussions of it. I expected this honestly, because that is exactly what happened to BLM and other Black rights activists since 2014; a cycle of unbelievable praise before horrendous abuse and harassment once they stopped being deified. I also saw the way people treated Moataz Azaiza after he evacuated Ghazzah, and expected the same to happen to Ahmed, who also survived unspeakable things for months in an accelerated genocide, and got harassed and attacked by the THOUSANDS on tumblr after this harassment campaign was put out. I will not forgive any one involved, especially not for what they've done to Ahmed.
Here's a collection of links to posts about the issue in the past couple of days, in chronological order I think. And under the cut will be screenshots of the initial post that I saw that brought this to my attention.

Honorable mention for white victim-playing after leading a hate-campaign against Palestinians surviving genocide:

It sucks, especially with the state of the world right now, but before you reblog something:
Is there a linked source in the post? Click through and read the article, don't reblog it on faith.
Are there verifiable claims in the post but no source? Look them up, see if you can verify what's being said.
Is someone claiming something can't be verified? Try anyway. It's possible that the truth just isn't convenient to the point the person is trying to make.
Does something sound right but you haven't learned much about the topic? You need to learn about the topic first, not from social media but from reputable sources.
Don't have the spoons to fact check? Then I'm really sorry, but don't share it. Don't reblog.
i know it sucks, I know you want to be engaged. But there is rampant misinformation on this site, and it is better to not share anything than to spread lies.
