It all started with a simple game of basketball on the court of the Spiderman HQ, practicing some passes with miles, as he looked a Gwen, accidentally getting slammed in the face with the basketball.
"Oh shit, sorry miles!" you piqued, as you put your hand on the side of your head, bending over to help him up from the ground.
"Shouldn't have been staring at Gwen for too long" you snickered, while you grabbed the basketball from the ground.
"Yeah, yeah" Miles groaned, rubbing the place he got hit, "Now, let's play some basketball, gotta get your head cleared" You threw him the ball with some force, placing your foot on the court before he bounce the ball on the court.
"Come on, miles. Your knew the guy, people said you were good and tough" you teased, "I wonder if you got weaker," you said.
"Yeah, yeah get into the game," Miles said back before he dribbled the ball before you chased by the court, swiping the ball from him and shooting a 3-pointer, as Miles fails to smack the ball away from you.
"You said you gotta better Miles, what happened" you laughed, before dribbling the game, swerving your body away from Miles intercepting the ball from you, just to score on him again.
"That was just round 1," Miles said, before stretching his arms, before he looked at Gwen.
Gwen just looked at Miles, shaking her head with a laugh
"Better not lose, your girlfriend here" you said.
"SHE NOT MY GIRLFRIEND, yet" yelled out, mumbled the last part.
"Yea sure" you spat.
Before you knew it you manage to make the score 18 to 7.
"Come on, miles, why are you so tired" you teased, as you looked at his tired hunch back form, "Just give me a minute" he wheezese.
"Been 2" you said, before bouncing the ball around him. As you looked at his form running to sidelines as Gwen gave him water to drink.
"Come miles, where was all the talk" You gave him a smug grin, as he chugged down the water.
Before you turn around to see Hobie and Pavitr walked into to see the noise, as you bounced the ball onto the ground mocking Miles.
He glared back at you, "Oh, Hey Hobie, hey pavitr! Wanna join the game" you exclaimed. Pavitr immediately said no, knowing he gets crushed by you. It was infamous that you know to get a little competitive when you play any type of sport or do a challenge with anyone.
"No thanks Y/N, just trying to see what was happening" Hobie took his hand out of his pockets, walking towards you.
"What happened to Miles" he questioned you, knowing what probably happen.
"He challenge me to baseball, so I did" You gave me a cheeky smile.
"Oh, I see. Well, Miles, it was good to know you" Hobie came up to him a pat his back, putting his hand into his pocket as he sat next to Pavitr.
"Come on miles, time is ticking," you said before Miles walked into the court. Not some long, you scored on him more and more. And the loud noise of the buzzer got more of the attention of the Spiderman variants, walking into the court, as miles scored against you, soon more and more people came crowding near the court.
"Oh man, this is rare" Peter walked into the court with Mayday, as Mayday got out of her sling. Crawling to Hobie, as hobie place her into his lap.
As he sat down, "Miles you better win this" he shouted out.
Earning looks from miles.
"Come on Y/N, where was all the smoke," he said, with a smug smile.
"Don't get too cocky, morales" You seethe, catching the game he three at you, before dribbling and scoring it in.
The whole court seemed to get crowded as people started betting on who was going to win. Hobie started to sell tickets to get inside to see the game. The whole crowd was getting loud.

Miguel walked down the hallways of the HQ, "Where is everyone" Miguel hissed out, as Lyla's hologram figure spawned.
"It seems like they're at the basketball court" Lyla responded by checking the loading of some screen panels, "Seems like it's almost to max capacity".
"What are they even doing there," Miguel said looking at Lyla, "Their game is being held there" she utter out.
"Between who?" he turned around to Lyla's hologram form, "Miles and Y/N," she said with excitement, "Oh that's gonna be fun".
"Well, can you call everyone back to get to work, there whole multiverse worth dealing with" Miguel said before looking at lyla's missing form, she was long gone.
"Oh for god sake" Miguel cursed, walking towards the court.

"Hobie, what are you even doing" Miguel crossed his arms, "Selling tickets boss," Hobie said while leaning on his chair, doing a salute at him.
"Besides wouldn't you not want to watch game, Y/N is absolutely crashing miles, it game you can't skip mate" he beckoned, Miguel raised his eyebrows at him, cocking them.
"You can get in for free, since your a big boss," Hobie said, "besides Y/N playing," Hobie said, looking straight into Miguel's blank stare, "What is that supposed do with me?"
"Just get in there" Hobie pointed at the doors, as Miguel shrugged getting into the packets room, seeing you stealing the ball from Miles.
Before he started pushing some variant out of his way before making his way into the court, interrupting the game before you and Miles stopped. "What the heck, Miguel" you exclaimed, pointing a him.
The whole court was silent, as Miguel turned around.
"Are you guys serious, you guys are all here while there a whole multiverse in danger?!" Miguel yelled out, earning some mutters from the crowd.
You placed your hand on your hips as you held the basketball in your other hand.
"Miguel do you ever shut up" you snapped at him, Miles immediately side-eyed you, as Miguel looked at you with a glare, "Excuse me"
"Your excused" You smiled at him, cocking your head to the side.
As Miguel hissed at you, "What if I make you a deal" you proposed, Miguel cocked his eyebrow at you listening, "Play a round of basketball with me, if I win nobody here has to listen to you for a week if you win, then everyone has to obey your command and ill even listen to you" you listed the bet.
"Sure" Miguel agreed.
"Miles, off the court," you proclaimed, "Hey!" he exclaimed.
"Off the court" you repeated to him again, taking a glance at him, as you bounce the ball onto the ground. The sound of the whistle echoed throughout the room, "Well, this going to be interesting" Hobie walked into the crowd where gwen and pavitr was sitting.
"Definitely is," Gwen said, before snacking on some popcorn, as she gave some to mildly upset Miles who sat down right next to her.
"Major" Pavitr said, as he leaned out of his seat.
Soon the game started, and then the score started to begin to tie up, turning into a close game. "Oh jeez, it's a close game," Miles said out, leaning back in his seat.
The time of the final game closed up to seconds, as it was from inception to inception, you were getting tired, as you heaved out. "Y/N, don't tire on me now" Miguel gave you a smug smile while dribbling the ball.
Getting out back into the court, as you took the ball from his ball incepting the throw, as you dribble the ball from him. Swerving your body away from the steal, you dribbled the ball to the hoop.
As a huge, tall Miguel block your view from the hoop, before you curve yourself jump onto him, and dunk the basketball into the hoop forcefully, breaking the backboard. Glass shattering onto the floor, glass going everywhere.
"Oh my days" Hobie stared in disbelief, Pavitr clasping his hand to in mouth in what just happen.
Gwen and miles looked at each other in disbelief, Lyla recording everything that just went down.
Peter just finishing his Spiderverse whopper. Mayday just clapped in excitement, babbling incoherent things.
It was silent before loud cheering was heard.
"RAHHH" you yelled in front of Miguel face shocked face, "Miguel losing was a canon event" pavitr yelled.
"I guess no more listening to you," you said, giving him a big smile, as you stick your tongue at him.
"-For a week" he muttered.
"I can't believe that just happen, Miguel losing" Lyla started laughing.
"You should have seen your face, Miguel, priceless" she cried out.
Miguel just stare at her with a blank expression.
As you danced around Miguel, gloating with excitement.

i have a wee theory about the whole “canon” events thingie mentioned in atsv. it’s been marinated in my mind for a while. here’s my take, yes this will include spoilers, i love this film so so much even after my fourth watch >:3
1. canon events are not set in stone. or at least in the way that miguel makes it seem.
here’s my reasoning: there are some canon events that cannot possibly be met for all variants of spider-man (eg. having a love interest, getting married, being bit by a radioactive spider) these events function better if they are understood as a mathematical formula with a quota ???
i’ll break it down like this — what each canon event has in common is the purpose and the lesson it is supposed to teach spider-man. the universe can adjust and create exceptions much easier that way, leading to why there are gaps where some universes are intact when according to miguel they should not be.
eg. finding a love interest vs an aromantic spider-person
keeping my interpretation in mind what could happen instead is that the spider-person harbours a strong platonic relationship that serves it purpose to teach the same lessons/award them with the same outcome of character development to help them on their journey. thus, meeting the quota and being recognised as a canon event, continuing their story without altering their universe.
2. not all canon events are necessary.
i think this one is pretty obvious but it has to be said. i think it makes more sense for the “universe” to be as fluid as the spider-person who exists within it. some canon events will not be necessary for their story, especially if my theory is correct and taken into account.
miguel suspiciously emphasises the importance of how these story beats creates who spiderman is …
if that is all a canon event is then there should be wiggle room or at the very least fluidity that allows more important/life altering or impactful events to occur and trivial or unnecessary situations to be optional especially if the lesson or purpose they are required to serve there is no need for them??
3. spider-man is not needed for a canon event to take place or be interrupted.
this one will take a bit more explaining so please be patient with me and of course, major major spoilers from here on out.
i’ve seen a lot of rebuttals against the “canon” events theory (and rightfully so, fuck miguel) HOWEVER.
i think we are judging him too quickly, i don’t think miguel is completely wrong but in the same way there’s no way in hell he is right either.
earth-42 is the only universe (that we know of) with no spider-man but how come it hasn’t been swallowed out of existence???
i can’t remember where i found it but when i do find the article i’ll attach it to this post but the creators of this film have hinted to miles g morales — prowler from earth-42 having a key role in the final instalment with them specifically saying “don’t judge a book by its cover…”
now we know that heroic portrayals of power exist, who’s to say that miles from earth-42 is not operating as a heroic prowler albeit with more unethical/violent methods. in that universe alternate miles has lost both a father and a police captain two canon events in one, it is possible that if the message/lesson he was intended to learn from that life event passed that the canon event was accepted …
remember it is through losing uncle ben that spider-man understands that “with great power comes great responsibility” if that lesson is learned and shapes the individual to fight crime in their own way isn’t that them being spider-man?
miles g morales was supposed to be spider-man not the miles we know from earth-1610, he may not be operating as spider-man but he has had his share of trauma and development to fulfil the quota of those necessary story beats, he is still destined to be spider-man. if those things remain intact, technically the canon is unchanged.
there are hundreds of spider people that canonically did not obtain their spider powers through being bitten but their universe still stands.
the implications of the “canon” event theory miguel presents places more importance on the trauma one has to face to become spider-man rather than the journey of healing, self discovery, identity and love that makes the hero.

with pavitr having his hair out of the mask, and hugging gayatri when he saves her, and having The Worst attempt at disguising his voice out of all the spiderkids (which is saying something, when you're up against miles and gwen) - i love the idea that everybody in mumbattan absolutely knows that pavitr prabhakar is spider-man, but all have an unspoken agreement to never actually acknowledge it, because he's sweet and helpful and god, he's just a kid.
tourists and visitors and people just moving there will gesture to his very visible and easily identifiable hair and open their mouths to comment on it, and the nearest Seasoned Member of the Pavitr Prabhakar Defense Committee™ will slap a hand over their mouth and wrangle them in the opposite direction before they can blow his cover and get him arrested
My rant on ITSV and ATSV
So I've just finished watching the ITSV and ATSV because I'm a late watcher, and when the movies came out I wasn't myself. I'm glad I took the time to watch them, although I had to buy ATSV online because it's no longer in the cinema. This means I got to watch my favourite scenes without issue. With that being said, I have a lot of things to get off my chest regarding both films, mostly with the characters.
Warning: Long post and slight bashing of characters and terrible screenshots.
I don't want to be one of those people who hate Gwen just to hate on her, and I don't hate or dislike her character, but right from the jump her vibe was just off. She felt like one of those characters that disliked the main character for no reason despite barely interacting with her/him (them). I know that isn't the case but I didn't like the way she was blankly talking to him. I'm using the word 'blankly' because I can't think of another word other than 'coldly'.
During the chase scene where Miles and Peter steal the computer, she comes out of nowhere and helps save the day. I was glad but at the same time what the hell. Anyways, Miles compliments her haircut and she snaps with "You don't get to like my haircut.", referring to when he accidentally got his hand stuck to her hair and she had to get half her hair shaved off, I understand getting angry about that. It was an accident, and Miles could've apologised (I don't remember him saying sorry), but she's acting like he did it on purpose.
To top it all off she knew he was like her, which meant she knew what he was going through as he was transitioning. Getting taller, hearing multiple voices, hands sticky, and all that stuff. So that means she's aware that it was an accident, and there's also the fact that she pretended to be a student at his school and hovered around him. She bumped into him on purpose knowing he was a fellow spider.
When you think about it, why didn't she try to get to know him and investigate with him about what's going on? She just left him to discover his spider side chaotically. She should know how scary and confusing that is, but not once does she attempt helping him out.
I'm gonna sweep it under the rug because they are teenagers, and even if they were adults they shouldn't be expected to be more sympathetic to each other. But you'd think she'd be a little bit more understanding. (Don't get me started on her going into his artwork and opening his collectable in ATSV)
Now, Uncle Aaron. I love his dynamic with Miles, the true cool uncle. His love for his generation of hip hop and us seeing Miles' taste of music. The graffiti art bonding, loved it. There were small hints that he was the Prowler. The 1610 Peter getting killed near where Miles and Aaron did the graffiti, Miles calling him while he's being chased by the Prowler, and the Prowler appearing in Aaron's home. I'm thinking "Where's Aaron in all this?" dun dun dun, he's the Prowler. I loved every bit of it. This also makes Miles different from other spider men, being the fact that his loved one ended up being an antagonist, and one scarier than Kingpin. There's no "With great power comes great responsibility." instead it's "In a bad person you can find good in them." Also, the inner torment that he was about to harm his own nephew is chef's kiss. Uncle Ben who?
Moving on to ATSV. It opens up with Gwen and her meeting Miguel and Jess. She looked at Jess and said "Will you adopt me?" Like??? Where yo mum at? I know she passed away, but still. You've only had one look at this woman and that's one of the things that comes out of your mouth? You don't know this woman! Jess sounds like one of those women that only talk with attitude no matter what so I had a hard time rocking with her, like what is her problem??? And she's fighting while pregnant... smdh.
Spot. Funny villain, I liked his banter with Miles, but he's a pu**y punk bi**h. He's blaming Miles for what he became, when he's the one that decided to become a mad scientist and work with other mad scientists under Kingpin. I'm pretty sure there's more to it than a bagel. Lesson is: once you become a mad scientist something happens to you. Norman Osborn became Green Goblin, 65 Peter (Gwen's home) became a monster and died, Shang Tsung got Rick Rolled by himself, you get the idea. Spot made himself like that not Miles.
So Gwen didn't talk to Miles for a really long time because of the whole Spider society thing. When you think about it, none of the other spiders he met did, and I get that they couldn't with the exclusion of Peni. But not one visit? Not one letter? Something??? Now Miles has a little short conversation with Hobie and admits that he only wants to get into the Spider society to talk to his friends and help out with defeating Spot. He just wants to hang with his friends, but Peni and Gwen decided not to do that.
Moving on, I'd like to talk about Miles' walk through within the spider society. They acknowledge Gwen and only Gwen, they don't bother saying hi or even looking at Miles. It was like Miles wasn't even there. Never thought I'd say it, but these Spider men are arse holes. I also got annoyed at the way Jess was talking to him, I get that he's not supposed to be there but she needed to chill.
This anger went when Miles bumped into Margo, and she looked like she was about to lose her cool but she lightened up once she saw who it was, a complete stranger. I'm not a MargoMiles shipper, but I don't mind it (granted so long as they are the same age).
So the scene that goes 0 to 100 quick: I watched a bunch of memes and edits that painted Miguel as racist and I didn't understand why, and thought it was like a Millie Bobby Brown situation. Re-watching the scene where Miles meets Miguel I can see why.
All the other spidermen showed up to gang up on Miles.
"You can't ask me not to save my father."
"I'm not asking."
And hit him with this.
While Miles is freaking out at the sudden imprisonment we can hear Miguel say "We just need to hold him a few days." They were treating Miles like a criminal and/or a confused wild animal. And then Miguel had the nerve to say "All he had to do was listen." when Miles escaped them. I don't think Miguel is racist, but the memes I will support.
Hobie was looking out for Miles as soon as he met him, and I love that so much. He knew Miles wasn't like the ones in the spider society, and made sure to tell Miles to be better. Gwen didn't do that. She did, but she didn't if you know what I mean. She followed along with the crap Miguel was spitting.
And then there was the chase scene. Bro had a bunch of spider men chase Miles and not one of them could catch him. That is the biggest L I've ever seen. One 15 year old boy, and he didn't use his other 2 powers until after Miguel slammed him onto his back. Miles was not playing. Also, Miguel was endangering the lives of people who were driving. And yes, Miguel's at fault and not Miles.
They gave Miles crap just because he didn't want his dad to die, unlike Miguel who actively replaced the life of his other self. Gwen was really going to let her dad die, and Peter B tried to justify it by saying their uncle's death made them who they are. Pavitr was just supposed to get over his love interest's dad dying? They knowingly let that happen.
Miguel calling Miles an anomaly is mega projecting. Miles becoming Spiderman wasn't on purpose it just happened, and that's always how the story goes. No one is simply meant to be Spiderman, they just become him/her. It's also funny coming from a man who crawled on all fours chasing down a teenager.
42 Miles. Prowler Miles. Gonzales. Kilo Immorales. I love him already, can't wait to see the next film where we'll see him in full action. I love how we as a fandom collectively agreed that these two would have a sibling dynamic even though we've only seen 42 Miles for like a minute. I love the Boondocks comparisons as well. I need 42 Miles to hate everyone. I need Miles to be full of rage in the 3rd film Adult Gon style. Prepare for double and make it double.
In conclusion, I should've watched these films when they first came out, they are so great. The art, the incorporation of hip hop and correctness of Afro related backgrounds and the storyline. I honestly felt like Miles was a great representation of the new generation. I saw myself in him, and not just being black but the graffiti and finding out that a family member of yours isn't really a good person. I don't do graffiti or art but I do find them beautiful whenever I see them. Also, the Air Forces. Step aside Peter Parker, we have a Spider man with more drip.
Gwen: "So, i get called emo, killer, murder, bitch, betraying bitch, unfaithful and many other unpleasant things"
Gwen: "For the people in the back...
