HOW I SHIFTED FOR THE FIRST TIME

I'm gonna keep this short and sweet. For some context, no, this isn't literally my first time shifting (we shift all the time, remember?) as I've shifted to countless parallel realities and a couple random realities. However, this was the first time I shifted to a reality where it was supposedly fictional (MHA).

So, what did I do?

This. Exactly what I'm doing right now.

You see, every time I was going to bed or idle with my thoughts (doing chores, walking, etc), I would imagine myself writing a success story or telling a friend (luv you @vixilic) about my successful shift. I'd think about how I'd decorate it, how I'd word my sentences, the feeling I'd get from it, things like that. In the time between my last post and now, I had managed to shift by (mainly) doing that.

Before you say, "Isn't that similar to the xyz method/a combination of abc and qrs?" Congratulations! You know so much that you can actually see the different aspects of Loa/shifting being applied. I'm not gonna pretend like I invented this approach, but it is what worked for me (and perhaps for you too).

So, for those who want a coherent, step by step guide on how to do this, look below:

1. Pick a reference Pick something that you're going to base your visualisation off of. Are you going to tell a shifting friend? Your favourite blog? What about writing your own post? Don't stress, you can use more than one

2. Do the damn visualisation Everyday, imagine what it'd be like to tell your success story. What did you do during the day? How were the people in that reality like? How did it feel? Were you nervous, excited, scared? Do this when you wake up and when you're going to sleep. Bonus points for doing this at other times too.

3. Relax This doesn't have to be an instantaneous method and you may not see "results" right away. The whole reason I started doing this in the first place is because I'm pretty busy with school currently and I wanted to do something related to shifting which I didn't have to think about much. Hell, that shift happened on a night where I had no plans, I didn't "try", I just wanted to sleep 😭

Tips:

- this can be compounded with other methods if you wish: subliminals, robotic affirmations, sats, etc - don't stress if your visualisation isn't perfect, feeling is much more key here - on that note, don't try and force a "feeling" either. maybe you're overthinking it or just not in the mood, you don't have to literally feel it - go with the flow and personalise this to yourself. this is a Tumblr post, not a military boot camp - this can be applied to more than just shifting, too

SEMANTICS AND SHIFTING

Lately, I've been seeing a couple posts of people redefining and reworking their understanding of common shifting terms like cr, dr, etc. It interests me on how the language of shifting has begun to "shift" (no pun intended 😭) as the collective understanding of the practice does as well.

Back during the time of peak shifttok, many of these words were used in its most literal sense: it was called CR because it was the reality you reside in; you called it a DR because it's the reality you desired to "go" to. Most people's understanding of shifting were similarly literal (like how you had to have a script or do xyz in order to shift), so the fact that the words we used to describe it were "shallow" reflected that.

However, we've long passed such beliefs, so I find it interesting how our language is adapting to that evolution. For instance, this post by my moot @jealousmartini and subsequent reblogs are noteworthy because of the nuance and exploration we could have. What's stopping us from calling a "dr" our "cr"? Who told us that these words have a degree of separation? Why do we call it a "shift"?

As I see it, these terms are like training wheels. Something to help us usher in understanding and confidence when it comes to riding our metaphorical bikes. Of course, accidents happen. Maybe you fell off the bike because the training wheels were ill fitted; scraped your knee and had to sit out for a while. Maybe you got another set of training wheels, hoping that it may the one that will make you ride a bike. Maybe you've realised that you no longer need them at all. In any case, it's natural to outgrow the need for such terms, and look for others instead.

mattheo riddle was anyahs uncle, he never said anything to their friends because he knew how awkward she felt about that, that’s what made mattheo such a great uncle or friend.

lorenzo berkshire was a big, fluffy golden retriever even though he was big and a slytherin he was just a fluffy little dog whining begging for attention.

draco malfoy was like a brother to nyah zabini, she’d grown up with him, she’d lived with him, they were family despite their blood.

jeremiah shacklebolt was anyah zabini’s soulmate, somewhere deep in her heart the love she had for jeremiah never truly left her.

hermione granger had hatred in her heart for anyah, there was no reason except pure hatred. anyah however loved hermione she was smart, pretty, happy. the two were completely opposite about each other.

harry potter was like the missing piece to anyah zabini’s puzzle when he was brought to hogwarts everyones lives had changed, for better and worse.

ron weasley was a big, lovable, sweetheart, he was kind, and awkward, and funny it was adorable.

fred weasley was like a big prickly thorn that if loved enough became a fluffy pillow.

george weasley was a big goofball, he never listened or cared about getting into trouble. he was outgoing, funny, smart, and tricky.

WHAT THEY DO : the mastermind of your career. they’re out here planning your projects, negotiating deals, and making sure you’re not accidentally starring in some random toothpaste commercial.

VIBES : think of them as a CEO of you inc.. always on their phone, probably rocking a bluetooth headset, saying, “she’ll call you back when she’s free” (when you’re clearly free but can’t be bothered).

SCRIPT THEM : ultra-competent, loves you like an older sibling, but isn’t afraid to keep you grounded. could also have a fun quirk—like, i don’t know, a weakness for bad karaoke. also, i scripted that mine is a duplicant of saul goodman. c'mon, that's golden.

WHAT THEY DO : they’re the person sealing the deals. movies, endorsements, album contracts, whatever—it’s their job to make the papers sign themselves.

VIBES : ruthless. think ari gold from entourage, but maybe less unhinged? or, you know, full succession vibes, saying stuff like, “this gig’s a ticket to the stars or an express train to mediocrity, pick one.”

SCRIPT THEM : someone scary-smart with killer negotiation skills. maybe even a little morally questionable (we love that for them).

WHAT THEY DO : they control the narrative. got caught sneaking out of a questionable party? they’ll spin it as “charity research.” they’re managing your public image and relationships with media outlets.

VIBES : BFF energy with a suicide crisis hotline edge. always smoothing things over with a soothing “it’s fine, we’ll leak a story about your skincare routine.”

SCRIPT THEM : someone charming but with a subtle manipulative streak. maybe they also have a great sense of humour?

WHAT THEY DO : makes sure every red carpet moment is a fashion serve like no other. they’re dressing you for shoots, press events, award shows, and even your “accidental” pap walks.

VIBES : dramatic and fabulous. they’re the type to say “no one in this town can pull off haute couture like you can, gorgeous” and mean it.

SCRIPT THEM : add an eccentric, fun personality!!!! like effy from hunger games. maybe they’re obsessed with sequins or have strong opinions about berets. your glam squad NEEDS spice. and, and, and, script that they know exactly what you want and exactly what you need, otherwise your catching the "her stylist hates her omfg" allegations.

WHAT THEY DO : reviews all contracts so you don’t accidentally sign your life away to some knockoff brand. also handles the nitty-gritty legal stuff—copyrights, trademarks, etc. the boring but somehow also "the devil's in the details" stuff.

VIBES : quietly terrifying but has your back 100%. think “i’m getting you out of this mess in under three hours.”

SCRIPT THEM : a bit mysterious, but very no-nonsense. maybe wears glasses that make them look intimidatingly smart? (we love a power aesthetic.)

WHAT THEY DO : keeps you safe from creeps and overly enthusiastic fans. your buffer at chaotic events. now, i know it's not very fun to have one...but...girl. get one. script one. or or or script that nobody will EVER harass//attack you. people are fucking insane these days.

VIBES : stoic and dependable, but secretly soft for you. they’d definitely carry your tiny dog through an airport.

SCRIPT THEM : loyal, with a quiet sense of humour. maybe they’re a retired MMA fighter who now reads poetry on the weekends? (the duality, girl!!!!!!!)

et voilà, you’ve got your dream team. just remember, in your DR, YOU’RE THE STAR, and this squad is your orbit. they’re the ones making sure your fame stays A-list-level iconic.
