My Study On The Visual Differences In The Links, As Divided In LU. (But Not Following Their Headcanons

My study on the visual differences in the links, as divided in LU. (But not following their headcanons or mine) I was mostly just trying to get their individual features in one style)

This is mostly for my own benefit, so sorry if the writing looks illegible lol.

Also. Do we think age should be decided chronologically by timeline, by how long your body has existed, or by how long you have been aware (other than sleeping)?

…time travel and comas make age confusing.

What I've drawn recently. I haven't really been in the mood. Well yes + no. But I've been playing Skyward Sword so Link seemed like a good idea to play around and draw. Just expressions I wanted to try out. Link is fun to draw. So if i ever feel like it again I'll draw him. 🍃🗡

OoT: The Master Sword is just too big for the young hero of time, so the sword will send him seven years into the future until he can wield the blade of evil's bane.

WW: Let's just shrink the sword

This is funny to me in hindsight because not only was SS my first zelda game, but it was one of my first games in general. So, skill issues? I had them because I was like 10, good controls or not, I was bad at it in general and had no clue because it was my first single-player game. However, the second I did another zelda game, I found the combat both easier and harder because I got to stop working about the right way to swing as all you gotta do is push a button! At the same time, combat wasn't as dramatic before each move, and i got hit a lot faster than my reaction time liked

As someone who first played a friend's copy of Skyward Sword when it released with the Wiimote attachment, I can say that it was still a somewhat janky experience. Like, it didn't make me hate the game or anything, but I distinctly remember being like "yeah, as much as I love Zelda, I might just skip this one because I am not feeling the controls". And, I never ended up buying it

i really genuinely think it’s a tragedy that skyward swords control scheme was so difficult to use (and if you tell me it’s a skill issue i will kill you. we don’t have to lie through our teeth to feel superior towards other randos on the internet. it is bad. full stop.) because the game is genuinely really good otherwise. it’s got some really great dungeon design and some AMAZING bosses, its art direction is great, and its story is basically a love letter to the fans and the lore. there are so many really really amazing things about the game but the controls make it legitimately difficult to enjoy those things because there’s such a sharp learning curve to get past. i do understand the novelty of precise motion-tracked swordfighting, but the reality is that the tech was not ready. it could not reliably track the different movements quickly or accurately enough to be practical for the kind of real-time fast action combat that was built into the game, making a good 60% of the game frustrating at best and fully unplayable at worst. there are definitely places where the motion controls really shine—namely the sky map flying and certain motion-controlled dungeon items. i just wish they’d done a little more playtesting or taken a few steps back and assessed what their tech could ACTUALLY do instead of what they WANTED it to do bc i truly think that the game would be in most people’s top 3 if it wasn’t for the sheer inaccessibility of it when it first came out.

Ok so idea, OoT Link was TP Link's mentor, and many head cannon that TP Link was BotW Links mentor, so I propose that SS Link was OoT Link's mentor. This isn't that new of an idea, however in OoT the Master Sword placed Link's body in a stasis for several years as he was deemed too young to wield the sword and face Ganondorf, most people write it as he didn't mentally age despite physically aging in the Sacred Realm. I propose that the Master Sword (Aka Fi) sent him back in time to Skyward Sword Link so he could be mentored, age, mature, and improve his skills. SS Link has experience with time travel shenanigans, a Zelda that keeps all the cards against her chest until the last minute, magical instruments, and discovering the world is far bigger than you could ever imagine. OoT Link would get some parental figures older than an eternally 11 year old, some real sword lessons, and learn how to handle the mess life throws at you when you are the chosen one. SS Link would get knowledge that Demise's curse was a real thing and would be able to along side his Zelda start preparing the tools, magical items, and preparations the other heroes to come would receive. (Ex: sages medallions, Ocarina of Time, the tons of magical items created for the hero, ect.) I just think this would be a really neat idea and brings so much potential, it would make the whole "you've been in a coma for 7 years, go out while you are mentally still the same age of a kid with limbs too large" thing way less stupid, and the Zelda forcibly time traveling Link back before this whole thing happened 10x more angsty, you would get SS Link and Zelda's guilt at cursing their descendants to an endless cycle of strife, OoT Link's skills with his weapons being unaffected and figuring out how to deal with constant time travel would make so much sense. Just, the possibilities.

I have come to the conclusion that Ghirahim could absolutely destroy Demise in combat. The only move Demise ever used that wasn't with his sword (Ghirahim) was punching. Not only can Ghirahim fight with not one, but two swords, he also employs daggers, those diamond dart things, he teleports, and can grab your own sword and throw you over his shoulder. Demise wishes
