anyone else ever think about how being in the mcyt fandom is gonna affect you in the long run. like one day 50 years from now i’m going to be driving my grandkids to school and i’ll signal to turn left and my brain will be like “omfg.. this is just like that time in mcc14 when philza minecraft went the wrong way in ace race” and then god will smite me by having a truck slam into me at full speed killing me instantly
tips from a (hopefully ex) binge eater
GREEN + PEPPERMINT TEA: i usually drink a hybrid of the two (a green tea peppermint mix) and i cannot stress this enough, they not only fill your stomach but they also are natural and safe appetite suppressants!! i try to drink around 3 mugs a day
DONT CUT ENTIRE FOOD GROUPS OUT: it’s restriction that causes binging to occur anyways so cutting out so many different foods won’t work in your favor. you can eat anything you want (yes, i mean anything) as long as you do it moderation!
STAY HYDRATED: yes ik ik, this is the oldest truck in the book. you’ve all probably heard it a billion times, but a hydrated mind is a clear mind so drink lots of water each day!!
KEEP A JOURNAL: keep track of your feelings leading up to your binges, so u can find your triggers/patterns to prevent them in the future. also journal how you feel right after you binge and when you get an urge to go binge everything in sight, read it first and ask yourself if you really want to cause yourself that much physical and emotional pain.
DONT FAST: i know fasting seems like the golden key to weight loss but i promise you fasting just leads you down a path to ultimately gain weight in the future(trust me, i used to fast practically everyday) you’re so much more likely to binge large quantities if you fast. bonus tip: if you eat smaller portions of food throughout the day, your body wont be so eager to eat so much food. i personally make a small meal and portion it out into little tiny bite-sized containers to eat throughout the day(i eat one whenever i get hungry), hell, i even end up eating less calories throughout the whole day since i started doing this. this is literally amazing for portion control too and your stomach will probably shrink since you aren’t giving it so much to digest at one time
MINDSET: like i mentioned, one of the main causes of binging is restriction (and i know you all know this because we literally all have ed’s and love some good old restriction, but i’ve been able to eat between 500-700 calories this week without a binge so just hear me out) i know this is difficult but you have to allow yourself that extra little food if you’re having a craving(it’s so much better to have that 45 cal piece of chocolate rather then forbid yourself and binge 3000+ calories when you find yourself home alone)
remind yourself why you stopped binging, where do you want to be months down the line? sad and insecure? or happy that you finally broke the cycle?
try not to weigh yourself every day. this one is personally so so difficult for me because i love seeing progress, but i also hate seeing stagnation or an increase(most of the time this is water weight). sometimes when i see even .3 of a pound heavier on the scale i just will think “fuck it im a failure anyways” and essentially kill my willpower just over a bit of excess water weight. we naturally fluctuate so you’ll see much more progress if you weigh yourself every few days or once a week. (as long as you stick to your plan you should be seeing weekly progress!)
you also have to detach emotions from food. food is supposed to nourish you and keep you alive and give you energy, not serve as your source of happiness and or therapy. (this is definitely hard for me to do) and obviously you can enjoy it when you’re with family or friends or on special occasions, in fact you should! but food shouldnt always be what you turn to for comfort.
lmk if y’all want a pt 2
hopefully this helps my babes out, i love you all and please stay safe🤍
day eight: your workout routine
im a varisty swimmer and sets change every practice so i can’t exactly post the sets we do or expect people who don’t swim to do a varsity set as a workout
but i do have a dry workout routine bc coach likes to kill our muscles when it’s not season or the weekends or it’s like winter break or something
this is one set:
60 crunches
50 jumping jacks
40 sit ups
35 squats
30 pushups
20 lunges
20 candlesticks
20 leglifts
3 min plank
3 min wall sit
60 leg raises
we usually do at least two sets of this when we don’t have practice and if you don’t stretch before and after your arms and legs will fall off so do that first if you’re gonna try this
but yeah this is it

Rebel Wilson had an amazing 2020 despite everything that happened around the world because she made it her year of health, and I’m taking notes from her and transferring that energy to 2021 for myself. I’m planning to get out of this quarantine the hottest I’ve ever been and to then hit the nice gyms around town. While I’m currently unable to do that, I’m utilizing this time to save money and working out free by using different YouTube channels that offer these videos. Below are some of my favorites!
1. Emi Wong
Last year I found out that everyone and their mother were doing Chloe Ting’s workouts like there’s no tomorrow. I naturally had to check out for myself what the rave is all about. Her workouts are great, but for me they’re just a little too hardcore. So, I found an alternative. Emi’s workouts are still challenging, she posts regularly, and her husband’s cameos are quite entertaining. You can find targeted exercises as well as full-body workouts.
2. The Fitness Marshall
You’re having a bad day and you just want to let it all out? Then look no further than to The Fitness Marshall. Caleb and his crew regularly put out hip hop dance workout videos to today’s hit songs. You will sweat and you will laugh, his videos are literally an antidote to any negativity you might be feeling at a particular moment in time. I guarantee that the videos will lift your spirits up!
3. Sweaty Betty Ballet Workouts
I am 100% inspired by @sylth-glow when I looked up ballet workout videos on YouTube. There aren’t that many videos, but the few that exist will make you feel graceful, improve your posture, and tone you up! I love the cohosts and I strive to emulate their fluidity in movements. I’m still far from where I want to be, but at least I’m not where I used to be. Maybe when quarantine’s over I will take adult ballet classes.
4. Popsugar Fitness
I’m linking to just one video, which is arguably my favorite of all, but Popsugar Fitness is to me the IT workout channel on YouTube. You can literally find any and all types of workouts on there. Some of my favorite instructors are Christa DiPaolo (her boxing videos truly kick ass), Nicole Stein (girl’s got moves), and Marnie Alton (she’s very flexible). Check them all out and find some that you love and keep doing them!
5. 375 Dance Studio
As you can already tell, I love to dance and I think that as a society (mostly Western and East or Southeast Asian), we just don’t dance enough! I do their exercises when I want to feel sexy, burn some calories + tone up, and get out of my head. I’m an over thinker (it’s a work in progress!), so being able to move my body more and to have my body take over my brain is a joy for me. I envision myself dancing these sensual Latin dances with a partner in the near future, but for now this will suffice.
Much love!
unhinged YouTube channels to quench all your thirst for chaotic sciences stuff
TheBackyardScientist- pretty straight forward, a lot of ridiculous what if videos as in “what if we filled a pool with molten lava or dry-ice, electrifying sand etc. pretty chaotic, they destroy A LOT of fish-tanks in their processes
Styropyro- You like fire? you like LASERS? You like literal death-rays build from stuff you can buy from e-bay? Also sometimes there is completely unhinged science recipes (like making rocketfuel from sugar and stump remover) taking from late 19th-early 20th century DIY science books that make the anarchist cookbook look kind of lame
Michael Reeves- Fun weird robotics and coding, robots build from household items and whatever you can salvage anywhere, not as informative as the others mentioned but very fun and unhinged, also coding tutorials
JLservideos- cool gadgets and build inspired by pop-culture like Superhero movies, fairly in-depth explanations on the building process, still easily digestible, wall climbing shoes, taser gloves and human flying drones are just a few of the very cool projects
The Thought Emporium- The closets thing to a RL mad scientist YouTube has to offer, straight up bioengineering at some points, very bio focused in general, manipulating viruses, growing synthetic flesh and silk, and using human neurons to build a computer
Sexy Cyborg- Machine coding and 3d printing, hiding cool gadgets in everyday objects, building automated bartenders etc. self build anti-surveillance tech
I can feel myself getting stronger. Most of these exercises are so easy to do now. I'm so excited to see how the end of the 30 days looks!
Have you started any challenges? How are you doing with them? It's okay if you've missed. Just jump in where you left off or start over!
Today has been weird. I've done alright with eating. Eh.... just kind of in the slumps about my appearance. But when am I not.
I want to live by myself when I move out of my parent's place but I'm really afraid of money problems? I'm afraid that the only place I can afford will be in the ghetto and it'll all be torn apart and I'll only be allowed to eat one granola bar a week. I'm really stressing out about this. I don't know anything about after school life. I don't know anything about paying bills or how to buy an apartment and it's really scaring me. is there anything you know that can help me?

Once you’ve looked over all those cool links, I have some general advice for you on how you can have some sort of support system going for you:
You may decide to leave home for many different reasons, including:
wishing to live independently
location difficulties – for example, the need to move closer to university
conflict with your parents
being asked to leave by your parents.
It’s common to be a little unsure when you make a decision like leaving home. You may choose to move, but find that you face problems you didn’t anticipate, such as:
Unreadiness – you may find you are not quite ready to handle all the responsibilities.
Money worries – bills including rent, utilities like gas and electricity and the cost of groceries may catch you by surprise, especially if you are used to your parents providing for everything. Debt may become an issue.
Flatmate problems – issues such as paying bills on time, sharing housework equally, friends who never pay board, but stay anyway, and lifestyle incompatibilities (such as a non-drug-user flatting with a drug user) may result in hostilities and arguments.
Think about how your parents may be feeling and talk with them if they are worried about you. Most parents want their children to be happy and independent, but they might be concerned about a lot of different things. For example:
They may worry that you are not ready.
They may be sad because they will miss you.
They may think you shouldn’t leave home until you are married or have bought a house.
They may be concerned about the people you have chosen to live with.
Reassure your parents that you will keep in touch and visit regularly. Try to leave on a positive note. Hopefully, they are happy about your plans and support your decision.
Tips include:
Don’t make a rash decision – consider the situation carefully. Are you ready to live independently? Do you make enough money to support yourself? Are you moving out for the right reasons?
Draw up a realistic budget – don’t forget to include ‘hidden’ expenses such as the property’s security deposit or bond (usually four weeks’ rent), connection fees for utilities, and home and contents insurance.
Communicate – avoid misunderstandings, hostilities and arguments by talking openly and respectfully about your concerns with flatmates and parents. Make sure you’re open to their point of view too – getting along is a two-way street.
Keep in touch – talk to your parents about regular home visits: for example, having Sunday night dinner together every week.
Work out acceptable behaviour – if your parents don’t like your flatmate(s), find out why. It is usually the behaviour rather than the person that causes offence (for example, swearing or smoking). Out of respect for your parents, ask your flatmate(s) to be on their best behaviour when your parents visit and do the same for them.
Ask for help – if things are becoming difficult, don’t be too proud to ask your parents for help. They have a lot of life experience.
Not everyone who leaves home can return home or ask their parents for help in times of trouble. If you have been thrown out of home or left home to escape abuse or conflict, you may be too young or unprepared to cope.
If you are a fostered child, you will have to leave the state-care system when you turn 18, but you may not be ready to make the sudden transition to independence.
If you need support, help is available from a range of community and government organisations. Assistance includes emergency accommodation and food vouchers. If you can’t call your parents or foster parents, call one of the associations below for information, advice and assistance.
Your doctor
Kids Helpline Tel. 1800 55 1800
Lifeline Tel. 13 11 44
Home Ground Services Tel. 1800 048 325
Relationships Australia Tel. 1300 364 277
Centrelink Crisis or Special Help Tel. 13 28 50

Try to solve any problems before you leave home. Don’t leave because of a fight or other family difficulty if you can possibly avoid it.
Draw up a realistic budget that includes ‘hidden’ expenses, such as bond, connection fees for utilities, and home and contents insurance.
Remember that you can get help from a range of community and government organizations.

Look, I know a good number of you are from the US and things aren't amazing there either, but my country is literally on the brink of collapse. So I'd love it if we could talk about that for a minute.
If you can't do anything else, please just read and reblog.
A second COVID wave has taken out the healthcare system. There are no more hospital beds. There's an oxygen shortage. There's a critical vaccine shortage. The Central Government has thrown its hands up and is passing the baton to the State Governments to do what they can.
There are over 16 million covid cases. A record 330,000 new cases reported yesterday - comparable to the US at its peak. 187,000 dead as of today.
There is no plan.
Mass cremations are taking place. The cremation grounds are running day and night and they are short on wood. People are watching their loved ones die while waiting for a hospital bed, and then they're unable to give them the proper burial rights.
Hospitals are overwhelmed. Patients are being confined, two to a bed. They're the lucky ones.
We are on the verge of people dying in the streets.
This is the second-most populous country in the world. The largest democracy. A country that encapsulates over 15,000 years of recorded human history and has endured everything from famine to invasion to colonisation.
We might be at the end. This might be the thing that does us in.
People are dying.
People are dying.
People are dying and there is no plan.
More good news? Variants are popping up. A double mutation strain has shown up. It is resistant to current vaccines. This will not go away. This is the devastation they warned of when the anti-maskers were out protesting the minor inconvenience of covering their face in public.
My country is on the verge of an emergency state. Our government has failed us. This is as dire a situation as it ever could be.
Look. I don't do much with my life. I write fics, some of you have read them and that's pretty much it. I spend my days with my head in the clouds because that's where I like to be.
But two days ago, my grandmother tested positive, had to be taken to hospital and the ambulance caught fire.
She barely made it to the urgent care she needs.
So, here I am, using whatever meager platform I have to cobble this request together. Because I have to do something.
If you can, donate.
Or spread the word.
Help. Please.
