Summary: Clara never thought her life would be that exciting. That was until Sir Thomas Sharpe appeared in her father’s office and set her life on a different path.

Clara couldn’t wait for fall. Summers were so oppressive in Boston. Between the layers of undergarments and underskirts and the unending humidity, it was enough to drive a person mad. But that didn’t stop her from heading in the office of the Boston Daily Spy to hear the latest news every morning.

“Morning, miss.” The receptionist greeted Clara with a smile.

“Morning, Mrs. Hughes.” you responded to the elderly woman. “Tell me, is my father available?”

“Not right now, Miss Clara. He is in a meeting but it should get done in about fifteen minutes.

“I’ll wait.”

Mrs. Hughes let her back behind the wooden railing to where the reporters worked. Clara wandered from desk to desk, picking up snippets of stories here and there. All the reporters were used to her wandering about their desks.

“Clara!” a tenor voice echoed across the bullpen.

She glanced up at the copy she was reading about a string of killings in Lowell to see Jonathan Harper making his way towards her. His sandy blond disheveled as though he ran his fingers through it constantly. His clothes smudged with whatever chemicals he used to develop his pictures.

“Jonathan.” Clara’s voice softened at the sign of the young man. She realized he had taken a shine to her, and he always made his best efforts to impress either her or her father. Which often backfired. But he was sweet just the same.

“I didn’t know you would be here today.”

“I didn’t know either. But something told me I needed to come in today. It was the strangest notion.”

“That’s your gut instinct.” Jonathan offered.

“I prefer the term ‘women’s intuition’.”

“That sounds more palatable. Come.” He offered her his hand. She declined but still followed him to his desk. His smile slipped for a moment before affixing itself once again.

“These are my latest shots.” He offered prints. Clara plucked one from his hands, holding the photo along its edge.

“How did you get such a sharp image?”

“Turns out you can bribe a horse to stand still.” His hazel eyes sparkled as he gazed at Clara inspecting his photograph. The moment broke at the sound of her father’s voice.

“It’s an interesting proposition. Perhaps we can discuss it more this evening.”

“I would like that very much, Mr. Appleton.” a soft voice with a British accent answered.

“Bring that sister of yours.”

Clara moved to meet his father and the stranger from England.

“So yeah-” the man cleared his throat and nodded his head a bit as Steve’s attention was all on him, and he felt like it was the least he could do after having failed to do the most important thing that he could of all: defeat Thanos and keep half of existence to life “I’m gonna be seeing him tomorrow too.”

“That’s good.” Steve nodded his head own head “You did the hardest part and that’s important.That’s what matters the most. Our lives are in our hands and it’s our job to live them, otherwise Thanos would have killed us too. We must have been left back for some reason and it’s up to us to figure it out.”

He looked around the group, somehow feeling like these words had come out of his lips before but he couldn’t exactly remember when. Maybe they had, maybe they had not. Maybe they were the exact same or maybe they were a bit different. It wouldn’t matter much, anyway. The past five years he had been doing nothing but trying to comfort people, trying to help them move one – hence the group therapy because deep down he felt like it was his fault that things had come to this.

At first it was about dealing with the grief, dealing with… everything Sam had once told him when he advised him to join a group therapy, but after some time he realized the bitter truth that it wasn’t about him dealing with the pain of loss. It was him dealing with the guilt of loss, the guilt of letting down people who believed in him, of letting you down. Good Lord, it felt like an eternity since he’d last seen you and he still couldn’t bring himself to face you, to talk to you and even more hear what you had to say about him.

Under the cut, you'll find the list of fandoms that Lokitty writes for (or previously wrote for). The link will take you to a second masterlist of character x reader ships. This is where it can get tricky:

reader lists are lists which have character x reader works

specific!reader lists are lists which have character x reader works where the reader's relation to the character is more specified (ex. daughter!reader, student!reader, etc.)

all readers lists are lists which have character x reader and character x specific!reader works.

NOTE: Characters that have all readers lists will NOT have reader and specific!reader lists. all readers lists contain all the works for that character and are sorted by relation. What list a character has is entirely dependent on the number and type of works Lokitty has written.

From there, you can pick the character-reader relation, open the list link, and find all the fics you're looking for! If you're confused, play around with the links. You'll find what you're looking for.

If you're looking for crossover fics, pick one of the fandoms in the crossover. At the end of that list there is a Crossover Works link. You should be able to find the fic there.

other important notes:

some lists are short and list all the characters and their works without having extra links. These are easy to navigate.

reader traits such as male!reader and autistic!reader are listed next to the fic title and DO NOT have seprate lists.

all fics are (generally) listed from oldest to newest.

I tried my best to sort out all the crossover works, but this was already a huge project and some probably slipped through the cracks. I sorted everything to the best of my abilities, but it would have been impossible to read through every single work (and I'm unfamiliar with most of these fandoms).
