Overview: ONE-SHOT READER INSERT. The reader hunts with the Winchesters, and is one day struck down with appendicitis. How long will it take for the guys to figure it out, and by then will it be too late? No pairings, but a bit of friendly flirting I hope.

Warnings: Some blood, some VERY light swearing… possibly some bad writing too but I’ll let you be the judge of that, lol

A/N: So I’ve never had appendicitis and all I had to go on was Google research. And you know what? Medical stuff is really confusing. And some sites conflicted with others and I feel like I re-wrote this a million times. So, it’s probably (definitely) not 100% accurate but I think still within the general symptoms of the condition and subsequent complication.

You should have anticipated that you’d be hitting the bar as soon as the hunt was over, though there was still a small part of you that hoped Dean would be too tired to bother. Not a chance in hell of that happening really…

“I’m surprised you’re not having a beer” Sam commented, taking a swig from his own bottle. He glanced over at Dean, who was currently trying to earn us some spending money with a few games of pool, whilst enjoying his own drink of rum and coke. You nursed your lemonade while trying to pretend you were enjoying the atmosphere of the cleaner-than-usual bar that was conveniently located across the road from your motel. You’d become so used to seedy bars you’d forgotten some places used coasters. You couldn’t help but pick at yours, it was turning into a good distraction.

“Hey, you ok?” Sam asked you, his brow furrowing in concern, reaching a hand out to lightly touch your own. “You’ve been pretty quiet today”.

“Know it all.” 

“Egotistical maniac.”

“Smartass.”

“Brat.”

The corners of your mouth tugged up in a smile. “Sherlock, good to see you again.” 

Sherlock grinned, wrapping his arms around you in a tight hug. “I brought you a case.” 

You untangled yourself from his embrace and jumped up and down in excitement. As much as you loved being an actress, you would give it all up to work on cases with Sherlock. “Too hard for you to solve?”

“Don’t make me laugh,” Sherlock rolled his eyes and sat down in your dressing room. “I needed to bounce ideas off of someone that’s half as smart as I am.” 

“Half as smart? Don’t make me laugh, Sherlock. My IQ is only a point below yours.” You took a seat down next to Sherlock. 

Although it felt as if you knew Sherlock for a lifetime, the two of you only met around three months ago. Sherlock was sitting on a bench at Two AM trying to solve a case, and you were going through an existential crisis. The two of you met, solved the case, and had been inseparable ever since. You were convinced that you were half in love with him by the time the sun came up that day. 

“It just doesn’t make sense,” Sherlock showed you the picture. “These words don’t translate into any language.” 

You grabbed the picture from Sherlock and stared at it. A small smirk forced it’s way onto your face. “That’s because it’s not a language.”

“Excuse me?” Sherlock looked over at you. 

“In ancient civilizations, their numbers were different from ours. Each number was represented by how many flat sides it had.” You explained. 

“This isn’t a message, it’s coordinates.” Sherlock mumbled.

“Exactly.” You looked over at him smiling, only to find that he was already looking at you. “Anything else?”

“Be my girlfriend?” Sherlock asked, his eyes never leaving yours.

“About time you asked.” Your smile grew. 

“Can I pick you up tomorrow at Eight?” He murmured. 

“Sounds great.” You nodded. 

Sherlock leaned in and pressed a small kiss to your lips. “That’s all.” 

With one final kiss goodbye, Sherlock walked out of your dressing room, leaving you thoughts of what tomorrow night would bring.
