10 Ways To Romanticize Your Life & Be More Present

Your Life’s Not Boring—You’re Just On Your Phone Too Much

If you’ve been feeling glued to your phone—especially apps like TikTok and Instagram—you’re not alone. So many of us are stuck in this loop, and it can seriously mess with our energy, motivation, and overall health.

One thing I’ve struggled most with lately is comparison. Feeling like what I do just isn’t... enough. If you’ve felt that too, this post is for us both. A little reminder that:

✨ You are enough, just as you are. ✨ You’ve survived every hard day, and your inner child and I are so proud of you. Don't ever forget how far you've come as a person! If all you did was make your bed and hydrate today, that's a win worth celebrating. You're doing just fine, and you'll do all that you wish to on your own divine timing.

And yes, your life isn’t boring. You might just be too distracted to see how beautiful it really is. So instead of escaping it, let’s try to romanticize it!

10 Ways to Romanticize Your Life & Be More Present

Wake up a little earlier. It doesn’t have to be 5 AM (unless that’s your thing). Even an hour earlier can give you quiet time to get things done without distractions.

Take an "everything shower." These are pretty meditative for me in a way. I like to imagine the water washing off all my stress and stagnant energy I may have accumulated throughout the day. Like a reset button!

Make a breakfast you’d actually get out of bed early for. Pancakes? Fruit? Whatever makes your inner child happy.

Play jazz or soft instrumentals while doing everyday activities. Instant cozy vibes.

Read outside. Sitting on your porch or even by a window gives you that vitamin D and a fresh perspective.

Find a screen-less hobby you enjoy. Try crochet, painting, poetry, LEGO kits, pottery, etc. Block-building kits are my fave—they’re so fun and satisfying. Just remember to take breaks and stretch!

Re-watch something comforting or start something new. That show you keep skipping past might become your next obsession.

Connect. If you’ve been stuck in your room all day, talk to someone. Call a friend, hug your pet, or chat with family. A quick convo with my mom always boosts my mood!

Learn something new! When was the last time you went out of your way to explore something you didn’t already know? (and nope, school doesn’t count.) Take a moment to find a subject you’ve never looked into or dive deeper into one you already know a little about. Pick up on a new language, study an unfamiliar culture, or even try learning a random skill just for fun. Expanding your mind keeps life feeling fresh and exciting.

Travel (if you can). I can't stress this one enough!! Even just getting out of town for a single 24 hours can give you a whole new perspective. A change of scenery does wonders, especially when life feels repetitive. It doesn't have to be far, either. You can travel to the next city over and explore what it's like there!

Remember: Social media is NOT real life. That influencer who’s always partying in Miami with a closet full of designer bags? You’re seeing their highlight reel, not the full picture. Some even goes as far as faking luxury lifestyles for the views. Don’t compare your behind-the-scenes to someone else’s curated feed. At the end of the day, it's all for the aesthetics/entertainment.

Be gentle with yourself. You're doing better than you think, angel. xo, Kay 🪽

Ways to Shift the Angle || It's all about perspective.

140525
140525
140525

1. Go outside ugly.

No makeup. No cute outfit. Just step out. Feel the wind. Notice the clouds like they’re watching you back. You’re not there to be seen, you’re there to see, aka you're right as a HUMAN.

2. Drink water with dramatic flair.

Pour it into your prettiest glass. Add lemon, cucumber, or mint if you’re extra. Sip it like it’s holy. Because it is. Hydration is a rebuke to the decay.

3. Unfollow the perfect. Follow the real.

Curate your feed like a gallery. If it doesn’t make you dream bigger or breathe deeper, cut it. You become what you consume.

My moto has always been See it, be it.

4. Romanticize something stupid.

Fold laundry like a French film heroine. Wash dishes like you’re in a music video. Make it art. You don’t need permission, you have free will!!!!

5. Make something and let it suck.

Doodle, paint, sing badly, dance worse, write shit poetry and convince yourself you're freaking Edgar Allan Poe. Expression is not a talent contest, it’s your soul stretching its arms. There so many ways to do that.

6. Touch grass... but like, really touch it.

Like fr. Sit with your bare legs on the ground. Let dirt under your nails(you can clean it l8r, it ain't gonna kill you) Be wild. You’re not a screen. You’re skin and blood and thunder.

7. Talk to yourself with tenderness.

You’ve survived every ugly day so far. That deserves softness. Praise yourself out loud like you would your best friend.

8. Write a letter to the girl you’ll be in a year.

Tell her what you hope for. What you’re scared of. What you’re trying. Then seal it. Hide it. Come back to it later and weep at your own growth.

9. Watch a movie you loved at 13.

Feel how it hits different. That’s -perspective- seeing the same story with new eyes, older eyes, wiser eyes.

10. Do something the algorithm doesn’t care about.

Learn to knit. Bake bread (!!!!). Read a dusty book. These aren’t for clout. They’re for soul.

You don’t need a full rebrand. You need a tilt. A reframe. A second glance.

Your life isn’t just a reel of wasted time. It’s a painting in progress. And even the mess matters. Every shade. Every smudge. Every layer.

Perspective is more than a trick of the eye. It’s a rebellion. A soft uprising against despair. It says, yes, this sucks right now, but it’s not the whole story. You are not the rot. You are the artist holding the brush, choosing what to do next.

I don't believe everything happens for a reason. But I do believe in reshaping the meaning of things that happen.

So next time you’re lying there, staring at the ceiling like it holds answers, waiting for a sign, turn the paper. Turn yourself. A few degrees is all it takes.

And suddenly, what looked like the end… is just the start of something strange and beautiful.

Ate nothing till dinner, so pretty good fast actually, but I stayed in my room the entire day too which was beyond mundane, its insane out here. Was on the call with my BFF and power cut but its back now so I'll go text her sorry or something. Im in SZN 5 of Lucifer and I keep getting edits of the show and I don't recognise some scenes so I freak out and just favourite all the edits I came across, so that once I'm done with the show I can enjoy the edits.

Overall the most boring day on earth, 2/10.

20 question to ask yourself to find your sun

20 Question To Ask Yourself To Find Your Sun
20 Question To Ask Yourself To Find Your Sun

inspired from heya by ive the members represent the tigers who want to eat the sun !

the myth

(the story is so long I cut it out btw)

There is an old Korean legend of a tiger, fierce and restless, who climbed mountains in pursuit of the sun . Some say he wanted to devour it, to claim its light for himself. Others say he was drawn to its warmth, its brilliance, its quiet power. But what the story truly tells us is this:the sun cannot be taken by force. It can only be reached by the one who climbs with a pure heart. In this life, we are all climbing. Each of us faces our own mountains doubt, fear, failure, the weight of the world... And within us, like the tiger, burns a hunger: to find meaning, to become something more, to reach a dream that feels impossibly far.

this story reminds us no matter how high the peak, no matter how long the journey, if your heart is sincere and your vision clear, you will reach your sun.

20 Question To Ask Yourself To Find Your Sun

Inner Longing & direction:

1. What "sun" (goal, activity, feeling) do I find myself staring at longingly, day after day?

2. What pulls me forward, even when I can't fully explain why?

3. If I felt free to chase anything without fear of failure, what would it be?

4. What activities make me feel most alive and connected to something bigger than myself?

5. What inner "fire" feels like it's burning within me, waiting to be ignited?

Obstacles & perseverance:

6. What "rivers and forests" (challenges, obstacles) might I face on this journey?

7. What voices might tell me I'm foolish for pursuing this?

8. How can I stay motivated even when the "sun" seems too far away?

9. What does perseverance mean to me in this context?

10. What am I willing to sacrifice or endure to get closer to my "sun"?

Meaning & transformation:

11. What does my "sun" represent to me (e.g., enlightenment, creativity, connection, impact)?

12. What kind of person will I become if I pursue this goal with all my heart?

13. How will this journey transform me, regardless of the outcome?

14. What lessons might I learn along the way?

15. Even if I don't reach my "sun," what value will I gain from the pursuit?

Action & clarity:

16. What is one small step I can take today to start moving towards my "sun"?

17. Who can I reach out to for support or guidance on this journey?

18. What resources do I need to gather to help me on my path?

19. How can I measure my progress and stay accountable?

20. What does success look like to me, and how will I celebrate it (even the small wins)?

SHAPING YOUR ALTER EGO:EMBRACING YOUR HIDDEN STRENGTHS

SHAPING YOUR ALTER EGO:EMBRACING YOUR HIDDEN STRENGTHS
SHAPING YOUR ALTER EGO:EMBRACING YOUR HIDDEN STRENGTHS
SHAPING YOUR ALTER EGO:EMBRACING YOUR HIDDEN STRENGTHS

Why an Alter Ego?

Adopting an alter ego offers you a creative pathway for personal growth, allowing you to explore and embody qualities you admire but have not yet dared to live out, effectively overcoming fears and expanding your sense of self. it serves as both a mental strategy for confronting your personal limitations and a practical tool for enhancing resilience, fostering a deeper connection with your potential, and encouraging the realization of an empowered identity.

Discovering Your Alter Ego

Reflect on Your Aspirations: Begin by deeply contemplating the qualities you find admirable in others-those traits you see and think, "I wish that were me." Ask yourself which of these qualities, if adopted, could significantly propel you toward your goals. Imagine the kind of person you would become if you embodied these traits.

Identify Your Challenges: Consider the obstacles that often stand in your way.An alter ego can be designed to navigate these with ease and confidence.

Crafting Her Identity

Name Her: Choose a name that resonates with the energy and essence of this new persona.

Define Her Traits: Is she bold? Creative? Unapologetically ambitious? Outline the characteristics that define her.

Visualize Her Style: How does she dress? How does she carry herself?Visualizing her can help solidify her presence in your mind.

Bringing Her to Life

Choose Her Moments: Identify specific situations where invoking your alter ego could be beneficial. Start small if it feels overwhelming

Act 'As If': Step into her shoes in these moments. Act 'as if you already possess her confidence and capabilities.

Reflect on Your Experiences: Afterward, take time to journal about the experience. What did you learn? How did it feel to see the world through her eyes?

Integrating Her Qualities into Your Life

Gradual Integration: The aim is not to constantly embody your alter ego, but to seamlessly incorporate its strengths into your daily life. It's about slowly blending the qualities of your alter ego with your own, enhancing your personality and capabilities over time.

Celebrate Growth: Recognize and celebrate each instance when you exhibit qualities of your alter ego. These moments mark significant progress in your journey, showing you're moving beyond your comfort zone and embracing personal development.

Your alter ego is more than a figment of your imagination; she's a testament to the unexplored depths of your potential. By inviting her into your life, you're not just pretending to be someone else; you're discovering the powerful, fearless you that's been there all along. Ready to meet her?

Thursday Musings - 060225

I was planning on rewatching Lucifer the whole day today but my cousin asked me to accompany her to the dentists office and since I wasn't sure where I'd take a 15hr trip to the other side of the country or not, she advised me to pack a carry on bag incase my aunty calls and tells me that the solo trip is still on while we are still at the dentist's.

Guess what 😃

My aunty called and told me I should pack up and head to the bus station, but good thing I already had the bag with me at the dentist I guess

Well, as you may have guessed by now, I am Not thrilled about this, as I type this my butt cheeks are losing feeling and blood circulation it's not even funny haha 😐

10 more hours to go :D

2/10 day, (told you it would be worse) would've been a zero but I downloaded the entire SZN 1 of lucifer on Netflix and boy is he hot and cocky (just how I like em)

how much exercise should you do per week for maximum health benefits?

How Much Exercise Should You Do Per Week For Maximum Health Benefits?
How Much Exercise Should You Do Per Week For Maximum Health Benefits?
How Much Exercise Should You Do Per Week For Maximum Health Benefits?

note: while getting enough of different types of exercise is important, as different types of exercise bring different primary benefits, the most important thing is that you are moving your body! don’t feel pressured to do a strict amount of cardio per week if you don’t like cardio, especially if you are new to exercise. this goes for any other type of exercise. it’s totally okay to do the exercise you enjoy doing, as long as you are doing it!

how much cardio should you be doing?

while this may differ according to your personal health, conditions you may have, your goals, etc. (as with any other form of exercise), the general advice given by professionals and the American Heart Association is at least 75 minutes of vigorous aerobic activity or 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity per week. if we are going with 150 minutes per week, this would mean at least 21 minutes per day, or 30 minutes 5x per week. this schedule may vary depending on your schedule, but the overall goal is 75 or 150 minutes per week!

how much strength/weight training should you be doing?

while different professional sources have varying opinions on this, the most common advice is 60-90 minutes per week. if we are using 90 minutes per week, this would equal to 13 minutes per day, 18 minutes 5x per week, or 30 minutes 3x per week.

how much yoga/stretching should you be doing?

it is important to at least include a short cool down stretch after your workout to prevent injury and reduce soreness, but when it comes to yoga, it is recommended that you include at least a 1 hour session 3x per week, although doing a bit each day is considered ideal. using the guide of 3 hours per week, this would equal 26 minutes per day, 36 minutes 5x per week, or 60 minutes 3x per week.

how much pilates should you be doing?

while many do not include pilates in their routine or do not consider it necessary, i and many others find it incredibly beneficial due to its ability to work the smaller muscle groups that weight training usually does not. it is generally recommended that you do a 45 minute session 3-4x per week. this would also equal 19 minutes daily if you prefer to split it that way.
