A Gravity Falls x Bobs Burgers crossover au idea.
The Belchers are on a road trip and currently driving through Oregon. The trip has been okay so far, Tina hasn't puked more than once and to Louise's delight they've stopped at some of the locations she's recommended.
Gene enjoys changing the songs on the radio and Linda mostly sleeps. Bob however can't relax. He's too worried that something is going to go wrong.
Linda tells him to not think about it, that everything has been going smoothly and theres nothing to worry about. However as they pass the big "Welcome to Gravity Falls" sign, Bob feels uneasy. The woods surround the car and the wind whistles through the trees.
Bob thinks he can hear whispering out the open window but tries to ignore it. As he drives deeper into the town he can hear the car start to sound weird. It's making a dragging sound and he can feel the pang of anxiety in his stomach.
Before he can reach over to wake Linda the car jerks forward. As she jolts awake Bob pulls over to inspect the damage. He mumbles about how he was right, how he knew their luck wouldn't last for long and how now they were stuck in a small, creepy, town.
Linda calls a tow truck as Bob tries to not get into his head and think about how the rest of the trip would be terrible after this. Linda reassures him after her phone call and at the shop they search for motels to stay in.
Bob lands on a cheap, old, motel a mile down the road from them. Linda is hesitant to agree, as the place gives her the creeps. Bob mentally agrees with her but argues that thereâs no where else to stay.
With a heavy sigh and a long moment of silence, Linda gives in and calls a car. As they drive to the motel Linda can feel a sense of unease settle in her.
The kids were too exhausted to notice, Louise was curled up next to Bob, Gene laid with his head on his mothers shoulder and Tina laid like a ragdoll in the middle, dead asleep.
And as the driver pulled in Linda considered telling Bob to re-consider. To maybe search for a different place. However she knows how exhausted her family is and how much Bob needs rest.
She swallows hard as she wakes the kids and climbs out of the car. Normally she would go inside to check in while Bob grabs their stuff.
Now however, she waits, one arm wrapped around Louiseâs small body to keep her warm, feeling the light weight of the little girl leaning into her and the other arm around Gene, playing with his hair and keeping him close to her.
Tina leans back into her mother with her hands in her pockets as Linda blocks her from the wind. As Bob finishes unloading their luggage Linda herds the kids to the doors.
She lets Bob in first and follows him in, slipping her hand into Louiseâs. The motel looks even older on the inside and Linda starts to wish she had asked Bob to change his mind on the place.
Hauling the luggage up the stairs was the nail in the coffin for Bob. Driving had tired him out enough, but worrying about the car and their trip and then having to carry their luggage to their room made him feel dead.
The kids didnât bother changing, they tore off their coats and climbed into bed, piling over each other and it wasnât long before Bob and Linda could hear their soft snores and see Tinaâs twitching under the blankets.
Linda wouldâve loved nothing more than to crawl into bed at that moment but sleeping in her clothes made her cringe. So as she changed in the bathroom Bob flipped through the channels on the tv, ultimately landing on an old black and white movie.
Linda joined him in bed when she was finished, noticing he had quickly and lazily threw on his own pajamas. His shirt was inside out and part of it was stuck in the waist band of his sweats.
Bob knew but didnât care. And while still very creeped out by the town and the motel he knew rationally that there was nothing scary about it.
He needed to let it go, and he figured sleeping would help him shake off the feeling.
However in Gravity Falls, the things that go bump in the night arenât just the house settling, or your pets running around after bed time, or your roommate up making a late dinner.
The things that go bump in the night are real.
They arenât even just passed on beings who like to fool with the living, or are angry youâre in their space.
Theyâre so much worse.
And Bob soon wished he listened to his gut before passing the big wooden sign that read:
Gravity Falls, Oregon.
So apparently Barns and Nobles justâŚlet you print out your own books for little cost? I had always wondered of those who make their fanfiction into physical things to read rather than through a screen, but I didn't think it would be this easy.
The idea of printing my own fic into a physical book just sounds nice for some reason.
Actually, printing anyone's fic into a physical book to re-read just sounds awesome. As long as you aren't planning to sell it, it's a nice way of solidifying it, making it easy to re-read, and being easier on the eyes!
That said, asking the author would be a nice gesture at the minimum, since sure they can't do much to stop you (especially if it's with copyrighted material), but I suppose it would be a dick move.
Like, seriously go look for yourself it's like less then $10 for 200 pages or less it's amazing.
Preach đđ
(In no particular order)
1. âYou canât edit a blank page.â
Yes, you can't. Sometimes it's hard to get the words out but even if it's crap get it out. Produce something into existence, then fix it. Who won't know what to fix if you've not written anything yet. Get those words out on the damn paper.
2. âShow, donât tellâexcept when you should tell.â
I mean, this one takes time to figure out. When exactly should you skip the showing and just tell. Hit and trial guys. And then there's always book reviewers who'll tell-you-like-it-is. I don't think this is black and while. Only show or only tell. Maybe it lies in a gray area sometimes. The Goldilocks point where your narration hits just right.
3. âWrite the book you want to read.â
This was one of the reasons I started writing. When you so desperately need to read a book with that vibe, that aesthetic and those specific character troupes in such a setting... You're like fuck it. I'll write it myself. How hard can it be?
Spoiler Alert: it will destroy you and your self esteem. Good luck!
4. âDonât compare your first draft to someone elseâs final draft.â
I've seen many versions of this explained through memes. One of them I remember is: it's like you're judging your raw materials (the batter) with someone's 3 tier cake. And that is being blatantly unfair to yourself.
5. âMake your characters want something, even if itâs just a glass of water.â
We all have motivations, wants, desires. So do your characters. A character without desire feels dry, flat and uninteresting.
6. âThe best way to improve your writing is to read more than you write.â
Reading other authorsâ work, especially those whose writing you admire, teaches you things that canât be learned through theory or workshops alone. Youâll pick up on pacing, voice, structure, and character troupes. If you're like me you'd start noticing a trend. Or cliche lines that are repeatedly used.
7. âYour first draft is just you telling yourself the story.â
Write for you this means. For you. You wanted this story. It's for you to explore the plot, the characters, the world. Itâs your chance to get everything down and see where it leads, without worrying about perfection.
8. âWrite with the door closed, rewrite with the door open.â
This is one of Stephen Kingâs rules of writing, and itâs a brilliant one. When youâre drafting, donât worry about anyone else reading your work. Itâs your time to be raw and experimental. But when it comes to revising, open that doorâlet others in for feedback, because the revision process is where the magic happens.
That's it. My limited knowledge presented to you. You must've heard of many of these already. But just in case.... đ
I mean tell me in advance but yes!
reblog if youâre okay with people writing fanfics of your fanfics and/or fanfics inspired by your fanfics

Nedzu đĽş
âI⌠what?â was all Toshinori could think to say, looking to Nezu with deer-in-headlights eyes. Hell, that was all he could think at all, besides perhaps, âWhere did that come from?â
Nezuâs teeth gnashed. His tail thrashed. His hold on the nameless rat loosened, and God help him, he did it on purpose. To hell with it: it was the time! âToshi, you couldâve visited at any time this last month,â Nezu and the nameless rat seethed in sync as he shot to his feet, standing on the seat of that bench. âCouldâve called, couldâve emailed, couldâve even sent a letter, something. You didnât. My message that Tenko was coming home didnât even get a simple âcongratulations!ââ Nezu jeered, complete with a sneering smile and mocking jazz hands. âAnd this week, even though you knew Tenko was with me, I still did not hear a single word from my best friend!â
Toshinori didnât notice his jaw was slack until he closed it, only to open it again and fail to form a word, closing it once more to try again. He was like a floundering fish in more than just the motions, flailing and failing to get a handle on where the conversation was going or had even come from. âI⌠Iâm sorry I didnât call, Nezu,â he finally managed to say. âI could have done that much, I admit. A visit, though? You said it yourself: Iâm the greatest pro hero the world has ever known. Iâm the main reason Japanâs crime rate is less than half the global average.â He leaned away, glanced to the side, avoided Nezuâs angry eyes. Heâd seen Nezu angry before, heâd seen Nezu far angrier before, but never at him. Heâd had people angry at him before, heâd had people far angrier at him before, but never Nezu. It made him⌠there was no better word for it: squirm. âEvery hour I would be at your place would be an hour Iâm not where someone could need me, an hour I could be finding a clue to lead us to All for One.â
âSo, what, was your offer to visit Tenko just a moment ago good for less than an hour? âLess than halfâ that, mayhaps? Ten minutes, in and out, a cup of tea and a quick hello and off you go?â Nezu smarmed, not with charm, but with sarcasm so caustic it could eat through steel.
Toshinori shook his head, raised his hands in a gesture both pleading and placating, still too disoriented to be anything other than bewildered and defensive. âI owe it to the world to save every kid in trouble, Nezu! I need to be a hero to everyone, not just those close to me. You of all people should appreciate the sheer scale-â
âI am well aware of exactly how many millions depend on you,â Nezu found himself snarling, snapping, lashing. He just couldnât hear another word, couldnât control the stress, it was all just too much- âIt doesnât matter if itâs for the greater good or their own good, if it comes from ruinous paranoia or, or neurotic nobility; you are still walking the same path of neglect that she did! Laud her intentions all you want, worship the woman until the day you die, but she left him to rot!â
To call Toshinori familiar with hope would be an understatement bordering on an ugly lie. It was his heritage, after all. It was closer to him than his own heart, more familiar than his own name. It would be a mistake to say that he wasnât familiar with other emotions, though. He knew solitude. He knew shame. He knew doubt. He knew dread. He knew fear.
Anger? Anger was a distant memory. Toshinori had not been angry, All Might had not been angry, for over a decade. Not like he was that moment. What bubbled in his emotional bottle was not righteous anger, not the raging desire to protect people that got him out of bed every day, but an ugly anger, a tainted anger, a hurt anger, viscous and vile, roiling and boiling-
âYou take that back.â
âAll We Might Have Been, Chapter 5 Art by the lovely @secretgaygenttomura!
Ok so definitely this type of thing regarding the show has been talked about before I donât doubt BUT I still wanna put in my two cents regarding it so letâs get this going.
So Bobâs Burgers. Great show, adult cartoons done right (once they got their footing since I believe their early seasons felt more Family Guy/Simpsons which considering it was coming out a little late to the game so I assume it believed it needed to be like them but thankfully theyâve grown more confident not saying early seasons are bad their still hilarious ANYWAY OFF TRACK-)
And I really love their character cast. Bob, Linda, Teddy, and of course the Belcher kids (Gene is my favorite but not the topic of discussion).
The two I wanted to point out were Tina and Louise and an interesting thing I noticed regarding the two.
Not so much their relationship (though that itself is would be fun to dissect) but the way they seem to be on complete opposite sides of femininity.
Now to be clear I donât think anyone, fictional or real, should need to abide by gender norms, but with how engrained it is societally, itâs hard to ignore, especially in television.
Regarding the two girls, Tina seems to be what I think most people would assume a thirteen year old girl would be into at that age. Horses, boys, writing, boys, girlscouts, did I mention boys? (though I feel her level for boys kinda goes a step further which we will get into).
Iâm no historical expert in regards to feminine normalities, being a male myself, but I wouldnât be pressed to see advertising primarily push horses, dolls, and boy crushing onto girls at a young age, which Tina seems to enjoy, and that itself is fine of course, no harm done.
Now all of that?
Throw it out the window for Louise because this girl is here to bring gender norms to the back ally and murder it with a bat.
Louise LOVES fire, knives, basically anything remotely adventurous, risky, or dangerous. Literally she wanted to go out in a hurricane storm in hopes to have some fun (and did! But it was boring so they went home). When she got a crush on a Boy band member? She went through a ton of effort to meet them, all to just fucking bitch slap the guy.
She also knows how to lock pick and is a creature of chaos.
She technically does have dolls, but all of them are alien like creatures and her favorite, Kuchi Kopi, is a Japanese figure (which would be less weird if it werenât for her being in America).
All of these things, plus more, make her very not feminine and I love her for it. Literally her gender in this case doesnât define her, itâs her personality.
This isnât to say she canât or doesnât like predominantly female things, but the ratio def leans toward more neutral or masculine things throughout the shows time on air.
And it stands out even more when we have Tina, who immerses herself in it, to compare to Louise, who barely even interacts with it.
The reason I enjoy this is because itâs such a simple way to easily ignore gender norms by having two characters, siblings mind you, be on completely different sides of the idea (And Gene is just Gene, he is his own norm).
Iâd pull out episode specific examples but what Iâm doing right now doesnât allow me that kind of time but I assure you dear reader that if you just read this cause you were bored and donât know a lick of this show that just watching a Louise-centric and then Tina-centric episode you will see my point (hell even when they arenât the focus you could probably see it).
Also even though Tina does fit into the more feminine side she isnât completely locked to it either. Her love for boys would be seen as kinda obsessive (which letâs be honest if gender swapped would not be nearly as loved from the internet), and sheâs willing to help her siblings in their own things of interest (though not without giving her own concerns).
Anyway please watch Bobâs Burgers itâs a great series ok BYEEEE
Note that OOC doesn't need to be funny, can be used to just get someone interested in a story to see where the hell that even occurs.
(BUt I mean c'mon were here for the funny-)

I can feel this sometimes.
Go walk for a bit, do something you can do without thinking, any simple task to let yourself brainstorm if youâre stuck.
âIf you want something done, do it yourself.â - Napoleon Bonaparte
So hereâs a 10~ min sketch of what I see in my head every time I read this line.
Out of context moment from a fanfiction Iâm writing involving My Hero Academia and Deltarune.
Me: "Well I need to fix this part, time to fix it."
Also me: Adds on to the scene prior to the one I was attempting to fix.
Me: "God dammit." Not that I don't mind what I added, it felt like a nice addition that I didn't even realize I needed, but it's annoying sometimes when your brain pulls you away to something else within the story.
I see no qualms.
So I got a story Iâm writing, and I just realized something.
Thereâs seven main characters-three boys, three girls and one who is bigender, leaning more masculine. And I just realized that I accidentally gave all the boys daddy issues and all the girls mommy issues(bi-gender kid is in the mommy camp)
So peak ;-;
Another request done! :D I used to watch My Hero Academia and I remember liking this little critter :) Thank you @bboshi for your order! đĽ°đ¤đ¤

Punctuating Dialogue
â§
⸠âThis is a sentence.â
⸠âThis is a sentence with a dialogue tag at the end,â she said.
⸠âThis,â he said, âis a sentence split by a dialogue tag.â
⸠âThis is a sentence,â she said. âThis is a new sentence. New sentences are capitalized.â
⸠âThis is a sentence followed by an action.â He stood. âThey are separate sentences because he did not speak by standing.â
⸠She said, âUse a comma to introduce dialogue. The quote is capitalized when the dialogue tag is at the beginning.â
⸠âUse a comma when a dialogue tag follows a quote,â he said.
âUnless there is a question mark?â she asked.
âOr an exclamation point!â he answered. âThe dialogue tag still remains uncapitalized because itâs not truly the end of the sentence.â
⸠âPeriods and commas should be inside closing quotations.â
⸠âHey!â she shouted, âSometimes exclamation points are inside quotations.â
However, if itâs not dialogue exclamation points can also be âoutsideâ!
⸠âDoes this apply to question marks too?â he asked.
If itâs not dialogue, can question marks be âoutsideâ? (Yes, they can.)
⸠âThis applies to dashes too. Inside quotations dashes typically expressââ
âInterruptionâ â but there are situations dashes may be outside.
⸠âYouâll notice that exclamation marks, question marks, and dashes do not have a comma after them. Ellipses donât have a comma after them eitherâŚâ she said.
⸠âMy teacher said, âUse single quotation marks when quoting within dialogue.ââ
⸠âUse paragraph breaks to indicate a new speaker,â he said.
âThe readers will know itâs someone else speaking.â
⸠âIf itâs the same speaker but different paragraph, keep the closing quotation off.
âThis shows itâs the same character continuing to speak.â
