Summary: After a string of failed relationships and a Witch Weekly article that proclaims anyone who has dated over twenty people is more likely to end up alone, Draco decides enough is enough. There must’ve been someone in his past who he missed a connection with, so there’s only one thing for it. Hunt down all of his exes and find The One. What he didn't account for was Harry Potter coming along for the ride.

Would it be possible for Harry and Draco to put aside their (very many) differences in order to provide a stable family for Teddy? and here's a quick fem!drarry

ed zitron, a tech beat reporter, wrote an article about a recent paper that came out from goldman-sachs calling AI, in nicer terms, a grift. it is a really interesting article; hearing criticism from people who are not ignorant of the tech and have no reason to mince words is refreshing. it also brings up points and asks the right questions:

if AI is going to be a trillion dollar investment, what trillion dollar problem is it solving?

what does it mean when people say that AI will "get better"? what does that look like and how would it even be achieved? the article makes a point to debunk talking points about how all tech is misunderstood at first by pointing out that the tech it gets compared to the most, the internet and smartphones, were both created over the course of decades with roadmaps and clear goals. AI does not have this.

the american power grid straight up cannot handle the load required to run AI because it has not been meaningfully developed in decades. how are they going to overcome this hurdle (they aren't)?

people who are losing their jobs to this tech aren't being "replaced". they're just getting a taste of how little their managers care about their craft and how little they think of their consumer base. ai is not capable of replacing humans and there's no indication they ever will because...

all of these models use the same training data so now they're all giving the same wrong answers in the same voice. without massive and i mean EXPONENTIALLY MASSIVE troves of data to work with, they are pretty much as a standstill for any innovation they're imagining in their heads

maybe im just a weirdo but does anyone else hear an interesting or relevant conversation behind you in a way where you think if i’d been a cat my ear would have done this just now

For @drarrymicrofic prompt: "18" by One Direction. I went through like four different ideas/drafts for this prompt but this is what I got lol

"Did—did you know?" Draco asks, eyes downcast like he’s talking to the sidewalk.

Harry's throat is tight. "No," he says. "I didn't."

Draco presses his lips together and nods. He still doesn't look at Harry. "I see."

It’s quiet in the dark alley behind the pub, but Harry’s ears are full of static. He knows he needs to talk more; needs to stop Draco from filling in the blanks of Harry’s silence with his own assumptions. He knows Draco's guard rises with each second he lets pass without saying some version of what he’s thinking, which is, ‘I didn't know. But god, I wish I had.'

"It was Eighth Year, for me, " Harry says instead.

At that, Draco looks up sharply. Their eyes meet, and Harry sees the flare of hope on Draco's face; feels it in his own chest. "What?" Draco whispers.

"That's when I realized. For me, I mean," Harry blushes. "I obviously didn't know about you until, er, now. Like I said."

Draco blinks. "You mean to tell me you've been—"

"Yes."

"So all this time we could've—"

"Yep."

Draco closes his eyes and looses a sigh. When his eyes open again, he looks at Harry like the snitch in a tied Quidditch game. "Can I—?" His voice breaks, and his eyes fall to Harry's lips, and that's all he needs to say.

Harry sucks in a breath, and nods. Draco strides towards him and pulls him into a bruising kiss.

When they finally pull apart, Draco presses their foreheads together. "Will you say it?" He whispers. "I said it. And I know you implied—but I need to hear—"

"I love you, too," Harry murmurs. He presses a kiss to Draco's parted lips. "I'm in love with you."

Since the beginning of the year, Draco had been waiting for his appeal to go through.

It had been fine having limited access to his wand during his eighth year. It was horrible, but he could live with it. He still had a bit of magic.

Once his sentence was abruptly changed to a strict no magic regulation once he graduated, had it become unbearable. 

He had managed it though. Found simple solutions to his magical needs and learned to live like a muggle, but live he did. Still, he was going to get his magic back.

As soon as he got a reply.

XI. Forgotten

The end of the war wasn’t long ago yet it still felt like decades had gone by. Even further in the past were his early years at Hogwarts. Every once in a while, Draco would think back to the boy he used to be. There’s lots he felt regret for. 

But deep inside, he still sometimes missed him. The way he used to not have to worry. The future, something in the distance he needn’t bother with. Back then he felt on top of the world, untouchable.

Above all he felt jealous. The way his younger self could so easily feel joy in a way he would stop being able to. Angered at how it became like letting himself stop to bask in glee would sever his presence in the present. So those jubilant moments had to be hidden away.

Later to be forgotten. 

Or were they stolen from him?
