people are treating grrm post like it's just another opinion on the source material. girl no. he wrote the fucking source material. when he tells you that hel was beloved of the smallfolk and rhaenyra was not it's not his opinion it's a fact. when he tells you that the people of KL rebelled and sought justice for hel it's not an opinion it's a fact. making posts quoting the author's work trying to prove why acshually hel was not that important nor was she that loved and that gwurlbos qween rhae-rhae was acshally loved so much by the people of king's landing because the people in her father's court named her "the realm's delight" when she was 5yo. be so fr The Cope.

y'all are always talking about feminism so why are you so bothered by the idea that another woman that is not rhaenyra was loved and important? why are so bothered by the idea that Queen Helaena was an important character and the entire population of KL fought for her?

anyways, in the words of GRRM - "Queen Helaena was loved. Rhaenyra was not."

Okay , I get that a lot of people are mad at Aemond for what he said about Alicent, and on the other hand, a lot of people are acting as if Alicent raised a monster in Aemond, and that Aemond’s mindset toward Alicent is rooted in misogyny, because apparently people have convinced themselves that he sees women as ‘less than human’ and his mother is also impacted by that.

So no, that’s not the case. Aemond calling Alicent a fool for her empathy toward Rhaenyra is due to the fact that, the Blacks would never have this type of love, empathy or hesitation toward the Greens, and from childhood he has been tormented by Viserys and the Blacks. I was close to saying that Alicent planted this idea in his mind that the Blacks were his enemies since childhood, so of course, her going back on what she had taught him is angering to him. 

The reality however is, Alicent didn’t do that. She didn’t really have to. Aemond lived a life growing up where he knew he was second to Rhaenyra and her children in every way, and where he knew his father did not have the same love and empathy for them as he did Rhaenyra and the strong kids. They bullied Aemond, took out his eye, and his father did nothing but threatened to have he and his mother (and brothers) punished/tortured for speaking up. 

This war is about the throne as much as it is about getting back at, in Aemond’s mind, his abusers, his tormentors, the people who hurt him. He NEVER had the power to do that growing up, he knew early on that Rhaenyra and her family were granted a sort of protection that he wasn’t, that his mother wasn’t. He had to watch his mother, who was a victim of abuse and grooming, navigate in a world where all they had was each other.

He doesn’t see Rhaenyra as a sister. He sees her as an extension of her son’s who bullied him, who caused him to lose an eye. He sees them as an extension of his father who neglected him, who raped his mother so he could be born, yet treated him like he was invisible and did nothing to gain justice for his missing eye.

So why would he love Rhaenyra? Rhaenyra is Viserys in his mind, and Viserys abused his mother, that family tormented him since he was a child….so yes, of course Alicent is a fool to him for having empathy for the people who abused and tormented them.

And if this AFTER Blood and Cheese--it adds insult to the wound. His nephew was killed, his niece was threatened with rape, his sister has lost her mind because of it...so why would he feel empathy for Rhaenyra, whom he probably blames for B&C?

Reminder to everyone here that the actors have no control over the writing. None.

Tom Glynn Carney went round and round with Sara Hess about making Aegon a rapist. He lost greatly.

Nikolaj Coster Waldau had an interview a few years back where he talked about going to D&D and the rest of the writers time and time again, begging them to stop making Jaime such a big waffler. They told him he is an actor and to act, let them do the writing.

The actors have no power. They are contracted for multiple seasons as actors and if they tried to quit, they'd be sued for breach of contract.

psa: after all these leaks coming out, im only writing based on the books now. There is no way in hell that I can take this season as inspiration. What a way to ruin characters and a storyline. Such a waste.

Every time someone says something about Alicent not doing anything about Aegon being a “rapist” it really pisses me off 💯

Like no shit Sherlock of course Alicent isn’t going to do anything to punish her son for a crime that was only wrote to make you gullible fools hate team green. Of course the writers wouldn’t have written in Alicent punishing Aegon, THEY DONT WANT YOU TO LIKE THE GREENS!!!!!!

And while I’m here I might as well say it, I hate when y’all get more mad at the characters for their actions and not THE WRITERS. You know the ones who keep treating us like we’re stupid & playing with our intelligence….

THEY MADE Alicent betray her family for Rhaenyra. WHY? Because they only want to center this story around Rhaenyra. Why? To make up for what happened with Daenerys & in doing that they’ve completely fucked up the story & the characters.

THEY MADE Rhaenyra seek peace & not war after her sons death. WHY? So they can keep pushing this “Rhaenyra is good” agenda, which makes her SO DAMN BORING 😩

THEY MADE Daemon an abusive wife killer. WHY? Because they want us to dislike him as much as they do. They want us to dislike Daemon, but not more than Aegon & Aemond, which is dumb cause those boys are just 2 different parts of Daemon 💀

THEY MADE Alicent, Helaena, Rhaenys, and Rhaenyra weak. WHY? Because they think that’s what real women are, peaceful and soft.

THEY WATERED the story down. WHY? Because they don’t think we have the ability to sort out complex problems (which in some of y’all’s cases they were right 💯🤷‍♀️)

THEY MADE team green incompetent and all over the place, why? Because they don’t care about telling the proper story, they want to tell their own story with half of the work.

THEY MADE Aegon a rapist. So y’all would hate team green & mission accomplished.

THEY played y’all like fiddles and it saddens my heart to know that y’all are willing to take less than what you, we deserve.
