Since WFC siege is based on the video game you can think of it as a bad retelling or like a bad end of a video game

The thing is, Siege isn’t really based on the games. It’s just kind of a branding thing. But it has none of the same plot and isn’t an adaptation at all.

And I say this as someone who hasn’t played the games. But I did watch a let’s play of the scene where Starscream and Skyfire are introduced and tbh just examining that proves it’s not a game adaptation.

In the For Cybertron games Starscream and Skyfire are both accomplished scientists who work at Trypticon station studying dark energon. The station gets invaded by Megatron wanting to steal it. It seems Jetfire is leading the evacuation while Starscream is organising the defences. Eventually when Megatron seems able to use the dark energon Starscream is enamoured with him and offers to join his side (which in retrospect turns out to be the worst decision of Aligned Starscream’s life). Skyfire gets shocked and leaves to join the Autobots.

As you can see none of that is in Siege. Which I found a shame, I thought they were actually going to adapt that and I was really looking forward to seeing something like that. I often joke it feels like the one au where Starscream and Skyfire might have been married before Starscream makes a bad decision and leaves him for a meth addict cos he thought Megs was hot (basically what happened, totes, absolutely, no exaggeration, I swear I’m not lying. Only a bit).

The thing is, it’s a Gears of War style video game so Star leaving Sky happens really quickly in a minute long cutscene 

But still, that’s kind of the closest we’ve really seen of them? I was so looking forward to maybe seeing an adaptation that showed maybe a couple of scenes of them together before the attack happened? I thought that would have been cute.

Instead we got probably the most disappointing SkyStar interaction I’ve ever seen.

Skyfire in every other episode: Woo! Let’s go and kick some Decepticon tail! I’m gonna smash down this door and shoot something! Bang wooosh! *Insert terrible quip here*

I love this and agree that his gentle nature and nice demeanour is different from the tough and nail guys and I love that his personality is different from theirs

I miss Skyfire so much, but I'm starting to think that his soft scientist personality died with his name. There is no longer a Skyfire, only Jetfire :(

I think he will come back. IDW gave us similar so we can only hope there’ll be a return to that someday.

I think it’s just.... transformers has plenty of tough and nails guys and badasses who can beat shit up. What makes Skyfire stand out from them is that he’s so different. That he has this gentle nature and nice demeanour. It feels so different and it’s what I love from him.
