Can l request a s/o with tanjiro who they always give candy, toys like plushies and keychains to the children who they pass through in their demon missions. Even to children in the corp like muchiro even through hes theyre a top demon slayer. Like to any child because they want them to feel better despite ‘scary monsters’ are in their locations. He/they pronouns for s/o. I just want the kids in the missions to have something comforting lol. Thank you!

comforting people has always been your kinda thing? that’s how the three met you at first: you were fighting a demon and simultaneously trying to get a kid to safety. they stepped in at the last minute to help, introductions were made, and the rest is history.

you primarily make sure anyone they come across with a demon is safe and then go out of your way to comfort them with sweets or trinkets you’ve bought from cities you’ve passed in your travels, or sometimes just stories from your childhood or the antics your three friends get into. obviously you can fight as well — you’re more than capable of holding your own — but unless you’re unsure the trio has it completely covered (or there’s no one being hurt by the demon in the first place) you don’t fight alongside them.

tanjiro’s heart melts whenever he sees you with a kid, he likes your smile so much and he just stands there smiling like an idiot until inosuke has to jump on his back and remind him they’re in the middle of fighting a literal demon so can he please stop staring at you for just one minute—

your hands are somehow so soft?? sometimes the children want you to hold their hand because they like the way it feels, and tanjiro would also like to do that. he holds your hand any chance he gets and occasionally finds himself absent-mindedly playing with your fingers.

you always have sweets or toys (or anything that you think would be of comfort) on your person. always. it doesn’t matter where you are or how far away any shop or something that would have those sort of things in it is, it’s like a never-ending supply (zenitsu constantly asks you for sweets and then complains when he’s sick after eating too many).

the first time you gave stuff to muichiro he simply stopped and stared at you for a long moment. you freaked out a little and apologised, thinking you’d maybe offended him or something and turned to leave, but then he grabbed your wrist and took the things you’d offered before fucking bolting out of there.

you carry on giving him things and every time he’s like all ‘well if you insist then i guess i’ll HAVE to take it’ but everyone knows he keeps all the trinkets & toys in perfect condition and if anyone touches them he’ll be just about ready to square up.

his most prized possession you’ve given him is a little keychain of a weird sea urchin thing, solely because it was in the same colours of muichiro’s hair and you happily told him it reminded you of him. he did Not cry, the wind was making his eyes water (it wasn’t windy).

you’ve given everyone something that reminds you of them, but the person who gets the most things is tanjiro. he accepts every single one of them without fail, and showers your face in little kisses after receiving each one.

in short, everyone feels really safe and comfortable around you!! even feral boar boy is warming up to you ever since you gave him a strangely shaped rock that ‘emanated inosuke’s presence’ (although he didn’t know what that meant).

only sparing one more worried glance to the trio now facing the demon standing over them, y/n grabbed the hand of the child cowering behind a nearby tree and began to lead him away, picking up the pace a little when they heard a growl.

once they found a clearing the h/c sank to the floor and the younger boy followed, tears beginning to fall down his cheeks. y/n wiped them away with his thumb, moving to grab a few of the candied treats he’d bought a few days back.

“tan n’ the others are gonna make that scary monster disappear, alright? just focus on me, you’ll be fine.” he kept his tone low and soft, bringing out the sweets from behind their back with a grin and offering them to the child still trembling slightly. he accepted them cautiously, seeming to relax a little but still not meeting y/n’s eyes fully.

they both sat in silence while the kid ate the confectionery slowly, as if worried it was poisoned or something of the sort. the h/c kept throwing nervous glances to the way they’d came, wondering if tanjiro and the other two were alright.

he must’ve been staring longer than they thought, since the young boy beside him tugged on his haori and spoke up.

“are you alright, mister?”

they turned to face him, smile returning as they ruffled the child’s hair. “of course! just a bit worried about my friends. especially tanjiro.”

he looked a bit confused about that, and tilted his head a little when replying. “why? is mister tanjiro special?”

they nodded, reaching round to fish out a small keychain in the shape of a kitsune mask. “very special. i love him lots, and i don’t want him to get hurt.”

that seemed to change the boy’s resolve, as he stood up with a determined look on his young face and grabbed y/n’s hands in earnest.

“don’t worry, mister! they’ll come back safe and sound! and— and get rid of the scary monster! i promise!”

the h/c looked startled for a moment before putting his arms around the kid and drawing him into a hug, thanking him for the comfort given. the little boy relaxed more after that, the pair playing tic tac toe in the dirt and y/n telling him about all the adventures that had came before this one. they stayed like that until footsteps came running through the clearing and the duo were met by three familiar faces were staring back at them.

while he was hugging the newly-returned redhead, y/n locked eyes with the little boy and grinned when he threw them a big thumbs up, discreetly giving one back and then relaxing in tanjiro’s arms again. it was moments like this that made him forget about the outside world full of demons and traitors and villains, and just reveled the feeling of contentment that flooded through him, happy with where he was and who he was with. they wouldn’t change it for the world.
