this whole debate about children in america not reading or doing math in their supposed grade level making my head hurt because teachers are pointing fingers at the parents & parents are pointing fingers at the teachers. when you guys should be pointing fingers at the government, at the system. teachers are overworked, student to teacher ratio is insane nowadays, they’re under paid, etc. parents are overworked trying to ensure everything is okay at home, have to work 2+ jobs, most likely don’t have the time to sit with their kid to practice educational things. but if we had a government that actually cared about it’s people who don’t populate the 1%, the educational system would be booming. if we actually invested in education where teachers aren’t underpaid, where there’s enough teachers for them to teach a good student to teacher ratio class, where there are actual tutoring programs that can come to school or collab with parents that work to help their child.

so many people are saying “well it starts at home” without thinking that a student may not have a home…a student may have toxic or abusive parents….a student may have a parent whose working 2+ jobs to pay rent that is increasing month after month. like i don’t give two shits that you were reading the declaration of independance at 10 years old. while you guys are debating on social media, our youth is struggling beyond them not reading or doing math or their grade level. do i need to remind you guys that country wide school lunch debt fucking exist? this country don’t care about the youth as much as they low spewing out that pro life bullshit.

we are all struggling and trying to stay afloat, but we need to refocus. the government officials are probably laughing at us as we have this debate.

ok this happens for me i was talking to someone about it and i. dont think everyone does this so poll time. if you went somewhere (school, work, the store, etc) in your clothes do you immediately change out of them when you get home. Like having seperate clothes for at home. outside pants you cant wear while sitting on the bed because theyre been places you cant do that. its ok if youre already wearing going out clothes and you sit on the bed before you leave BUT if youve already been somewhere you absolutely cannot sit on the bed before you at least change your pants. But you gotta change your shirt too if you plan to lay down. that was kinda complicated but does anyone else do this please

Hi, Tumblr: this is LICHES & LYE, a shop for handmade resin dice, fannish scented candles, and more!

Some of the items above include:

a line of 6 candles based on the clans of The Untamed (brown kraft labels)

9 fan fiction trope candles (with labels cheekily inspired by AO3)

the polyhedral dice sets "arcubus", "distant skies", and "well of stars", which are WIPs/testers for my upcoming dice release!

I am an independent queer and trans crafter working out of my basement (seriously), and I make and design these products myself, including unique scent blends for my candles that you will literally not find anywhere else.

I'm so thrilled to be on Tumblr, finally, and to share my work with y'all. I've got a new candle line in the works based on the classic alignment chart, in addition to gorgeous 35mm chonky d20s and standard 7-dice sets.
