A little weakness of mine is when one character in a couple has a severe cold/flu and the other is very sympathetic. Especially when that person sneezes and their concerned partner offers a soft, loving “Bless you, honey”.
something about two kids who are visiting the ant kingdom and go play explorer in the outskirts. and some bigger kids tell them about the haunted cave where roaches used to live but now not even lesser bugs will go in. and of course as future explorers they have to check it out! and so they go on plenty of adventures and maybe kids are really small and can get into places adults can't. and perhaps they stumble into a zombie village, and even get to meet the reluctant zombie prince...
I still thrive off these three regularly.
About the chest:
Placing one's hand on the chest of someone who has a bad cough, in a soothing, warming, protective gesture. They might put their own hand over it, giving it a slight squeeze as they keep coughing, holding it like a talisman, a life line
The chest of a character shaking violently with sobbing. OR with a frantic buildup to a sneeze. Or both
Collarbones and neck glistening with feverish sweat, chest rising and falling a bit too fast with troubled breaths
Putting something warm, like a warm water bottle, a warm towel or such against the chest of a sick character who has a bad cough
Feeling the hard, loud heartbeat of a feverish person when hugging them
A sick character falling asleep with a hand holding a handkerchief on their chest
Shirt pervert bonus: just the look of a shirt covered chest when someone is sick in bed. A nightshirt, a pajama shirt (light pinstripe on white, or such), just... shirt !!!

Being small, medium, and large means they’re perfect for stacking.
i love those lingering symptoms after a cold. like, the person’s still congested and it’s just enough to numb out their consonants and make it obvious they’ve been sick. they might still be a little washed-out looking and tired, dozing off in the middle of the day; they don’t have their energy back yet. more frequent breaks and the occasional cough, not having much of an appetite because food still doesn’t taste quite right - just little things that tell people that they’re not at 100%.
It starts as nothing more but a small, easily managed cold. A few tissues, a throat lozenge and a nap and they feel okay enough to brave the winter weather. But the wind tearing at their cheeks, slush pelting from above and melting into their shoes, even the stuffy air of the heater when they finally get to work has them feeling like they would rather be lying down. Through it all, they perservere. When they run out of their tissues, they use rough paper towels from the bathrooms. They take two pills for the congestion and try to forget about it while they get their work done.
Ignoring their ailment only pushes it further. Itchy, fittish sneezes burst out of them at the most inopportune moments, a fever brews and their winter coat suddenly seems okay to wear indoors. Their cough moves lower, deep into their lungs to stay there, sets up camp. Closing their eyes only permits a moment of relief as a hand grazes their forehead. A frown, as they realise maybe it’s not just a small cold, it’s a flu.
“I thought you weren’t looking too well. Come on, I’ll drive you home.”
